Did you know that worry is the negative use of your faith? Worry is actually placing your trust in a belief in something other than God. It’s like affirming that you don’t believe in Divine Order. For some folks it’s actually a subtle way of affirming that they deserve bad treatment. The mind sure can play tricks on us!
This is why it’s so important that we learn to pay attention to WHERE we place our trust. Are we placing our trust in God or in our own abilities? Again, it’s tricky. We value developing confidence in ourselves – in our ability to discern, to choose well, to follow through, etc. And if we’re not good at those things – if we break our commitments, if we choose our opinions over compassion, we will then begin to feel untrustworthy.
What I’ve noticed is that when people don’t have a commitment to be loving, they have little faith. Without faith, life is scary and insecure – in fact, that’s what life without Love is – scary and insecure.
Fortunately, we cannot have a life without Love. We can refuse to accept Love. We can refuse to express Love, but the Love is still there, full-on, 100%, relentlessly making itself available to us, reminding us that Love is our true nature. Love really is unconditional. That’s the difference between the eternal, infinite Presence of Love and our falling in and out of Love.
It’s time to let Love lead us and guide us all the way. Love is the healer. Love is the only healer.
