Yesterday I had a long journey from my home in Los Angeles to my father’s home on an island off of the coast of Maine. Door to door it’s about 18 hours. There are so many opportunities to feel vulnerable and to get annoyed or frustrated.
I know in the past I’ve felt really vulnerable sometimes when traveling. The experience would bring up many of my unhealed control issues and traveling could feel really unpleasant.
What I notice is that the more I do more own inner healing the more pleasant my traveling is.
Now, to the best of my ability, when there’s an upset or concern, I do my best to take it as an opportunity to heal the underlying pattern that is the cause. The pattern is in the mind and it’s based on nothing. It’s a lie pretending to be the truth, but now I know what it is and I will not be fooled.
What I notice, particularly when I’m traveling, is that there are a million things that could cause a disturbance if I were interesed in being disturbed, but I’m not interested in that anymore. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
My invitation to you is to decide that you’ll be unbotherable, not because you’re in denial, but because you’re actually grateful for the opportunity to heal and remember that all things work together for your good!
