I LOVE transformation. I’ve never watched one of those Transformer movies, but I feel like a spiritual transformer. Transformation and alchemy are two of my favorite things.
Right now, I’m up in Maine at my family’s home on Deer Isle to get the gardens ready for summer. My mom was an avid gardener and she made her transition to that great garden beyond in 2008. In 2016, my Dad moved to Florida so I decided to see what I could do to bring the gardens up towards where my mother had them a dozen or so yeas ago. I feel like I’m doing the gardening as part of my mom’s legacy and that feels good to me.
This is my third year of working in the garden. There’s a lot to do, and I feel that I’m part of a beautiful, living transformation fueled by Love. I feel pure Spirit in the resurrection of the plants each year. It’s exciting to see what I planted last summer coming up again this year. I love seeing what I moved last year is happy in it’s new place.
In this world, everything changes. Change is constant. Transformation is always happening and we can resist it or we can grow and bloom where we are.
Transformation is a powerful form of growth. Transformation takes what is and lifts it to a new a level of expression. Sometimes in a relationship with a significant other, a loved one, a co-worker, or a neighbor, it feels as though there’s a battle of wills. One person is trying to win more love, more respect, more attention and the other one is not always willing to give it. Sometimes we want to receive more love, but we’re not willing to give more love. Sometimes we’re not willing to BE the love that we want to experience. In that moment we are ripe for transformation!
Rather than be in a struggle for power of some kind, we can invite Divine support in experiencing transformation. When I’ve been in a struggle and I examine my thoughts, I’ve seen that my thoughts are violent and hostile. This is when I most deeply desire to transform my thinking and my attitudes.
Gandhi said, “A nonviolent revolution is not a program for seizure of power. It is a program of transformation of relationships …”
How do I transform my anger and hostility? How do I transform my relationships? I invite love, the great healer, into my heart, into my mind and I make a holy offering of the habit of trying to work my will. Working in the garden is a great place to be contemplative and allow that healing transformation from upset to right-mindedness.
I’ve learned the benefit that comes when I take a step back from any violent feelings, and know in my heart that peace is what I desire to experience. Peace is what I intend to reveal. Respect is what I am willing to give, and true Love is my heart’s desire. I’m planting seeds of Joy in my garden!
Simply connecting to my high intention transforms me, every time. Each day I move the world in the direction of peace through my desire to be transformed into a more loving, more respectful person. It’s win-win for everyone. I love that. Wilt thou be transformed by the renewing of your mind?
We’re an expanding global spiritual community of prayerful people willing to be co-workers with God. We’re waking up together and finding freedom in our hearts. I’m so grateful for this!
