Isn’t it interesting how much power there is in human touch? I can so easily hurt or heal with my touch. Certainly one of the most obvious ways to practice nonviolence is to refrain from any act of physical violence. The most powerful way to practice nonviolence is to be loving. Often I can let someone know that I love them by a simple touch. I certainly don’t share a loving touch with people I feel uncomfortable with or hostile toward. A loving hand on the shoulder, a hug, a pat on the back–these small gestures can let people know I really care. When words are too much or too little, a gentle touch can be so healing. You can be the touch of an angel.

When confronted with the opportunity to lovingly show someone I care I consider Emmet Fox’s words, “There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer; no disease that enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open; no gulf that enough love will not bridge; no wall that enough love will not throw down; no sin that enough love will not redeem…”

Knowing that LOVE is the healer, I make a commitment to show the people I love how much I care by extending my loving touch when it feels appropriate – I don’t need to force it – I follow my heart. Let my hand be the one that extends the Love that heals. As I become aware of every opportunity to express Love, my daily practice of nonviolence widens and deepens.

People sometimes feel that God is testing them. While I understand that feeling, I’ve come to shift my view from feeling TORTURED by the testing to feeling supported by it.
In truth, I no longer believe God tests us in the old way I’ve thought about it.

In part, this is because I don’t believe God is an old man who is fiendish in one moment and generous in another. I love what Ernest Holmes writes in the Science of Mind about the nature of God as responsive and Loving, but not intercessory. I believe that God is impersonal, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient – the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever without opinions, preferences or personality. God is not human. God is Intelligence. God is Love. For this reason I prefer the words Love or Life or Universe or Spirit or Divine or Beloved over God.

The Divine Mind of Love Intelligence does not test us. However, I do believe that our Higher Holy Spirit Self – our own personal higher self does create situations and circumstances that help us to strengthen and purify and those experiences can feel like testing when I hold onto that which no longer serves me. I now welcome the opportunity to clear out old patterns and perceptions through being strengthened. When I take this view of my testing experiences I am grateful that my Spirit supports me by creating an opportunity for me to rise to my Divinity.

Divine Love is unconditional. What is there to test? When I live a life of surrender, non-attachment and non-judgment then Life provides me wonderful opportunities, situations and circumstances that give me the opportunity to course correct, to build strong heart muscle, deep compassion and to purify my view of Life and Love. I want that! I’m grateful!

Sometimes I can be resistant, reluctant and just plain lazy. However, that’s not a place I want to make my nest in. Thank GOD my Higher Holy Spirit Self pushes me out of the nest when I forget it. I was born to fly! I prefer to fly! When I forget, I welcome that push! Grateful am I. Whew and woo hoo!

Right now, I release the patterns of the past and I fly FREE on the wings of the Holy Spirit! Woo hoo!

I frequently talk with folks who are looking for Love. They’re looking to meet that special someone. Or maybe they’re looking for like-minded friends – friends they can feel safe and comfortable with.

Folks sometimes tell me they feel lonely, really lonely. I often hear how people are looking to meet someone so they won’t feel lonely anymore. In last week’s blog (click here to read) – I was sharing about how at the movie, Jerry Maguire, we were supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy that Jerry finally realized that Dorothy completes him. I wrote about how if we walk around thinking that any other person, any job, any relationship, even our dog or cat, our child or grandchild, completes us – then we’re going to have a life of suffering until we wake up and realize:

I AM already complete!
I AM One with THE ONE.

The Divine is complete. You are an emanation of the Divine and therefore it is your nature to BE COMPLETE. If you don’t realize you are already complete, if you refuse to accept your completeness, and instead, you prefer to BELIEVE and convince your self that you are somehow incomplete – well, then you are actively choosing a life of delusion and fantasy.

You are already complete.

It is your responsibility to wake up to the response-ability you have to stop drinking the incomplete kool-aid and remember you are ALREADY complete. Until you accept this responsibility you’ll always feel lacking. This is up to you and no one else.

To accept your wholeness you must be willing to learn to respond to every moment with Love. The Love is pre-installed. This IS the Kingdom, which IS within. When you accept your response-ability to choose Love and get with THAT program, you will realize that you are not alone. You’ve never been alone and it’s not possible for you to be alone. However, you can feel alone at any moment. Just because you feel alone does not mean that are alone.

The whole of God is with you wherever you go.

Deny that YOU are the LIVING presence of the Divine in your own life, that this is YOUR response-ability to SEE and KNOW and FEEL and HEAR in each and every moment – and you’ll always feel alone, no matter where you go, and no matter who is with you.

Choose ye this day whom you will serve: Unity or separation. Love or lack.

I AM the great Love of my life! Thank you, GOD for the Love that I AM!!!

Until I realized that ALL are worthy of the Love that is our true identity, I felt unworthy of my Divinity. The very act of judging another being made me feel unworthy of my Divinity. I was disowning the Unity of all life in favor of my opinions and judgments – and it made me feel unworthy.

Of course, I was still worthy of the Love. And when I was willing to admit that everyone else was – and I was glad to recognize it, my own self-worth shifted.

Is there any part of you that doesn’t feel worthy? Is there a place in you that feels unworthy of love, of peace, of prosperity? If so, then there is a place where you are deceiving yourself. All deceit contains violence and violence begets more violence. The truth is that you are born worthy. Does any child have to do anything to be worthy of love, peace or prosperity?

Joel Goldsmith writes, “If some night we could sit at a window all night long until the morning light breaks, and then with the coming of full daylight when the moon and the stars are no more but in their place is the sun, we might ask ourselves what part we have played in all this. What did we have to do with it? If we could watch trees or flowers blooming and when they are in full bloom, again ask ourselves what part we have played in this, whether we have earned it or deserved it or been worthy of it, we should soon find that God brought all of these glories to us without any question as to our worthiness or unworthiness.”

Today look I invite you to look at an area of your life where it appears you may feel unworthy and ask what the truth is. Remind yourself, “I am worthy of love.”

The most influential nonviolent leaders have all been deeply prayerful people. Indeed, most of them have been spiritual leaders or devoted spiritual students. Dr. King was not a politician. He wasn’t a lawyer or a civic leader. Dr. King was a minister, a preacher. Buddha and Jesus were both students of their own inner guidance and devotion to their spiritual practice. It was their devotional practice that gave them the wisdom that led to their becoming masterful teachers.

Mohandas K. Gandhi was a lawyer who studied the Bhagavad Gita with a passion. Gandhi considered Jesus to be his most influential teacher next to his own practice. Prayer was an integral part of his life. He said “Prayer from the heart can achieve what nothing else in the world can.”

As part of my spiritual practice I pray for myself first. I pray to remember my true identity as a Divine being. I pray to be loving and to perceive Truth correctly.

We have learned that we will have world peace when we have inner peace. This is our personal responsibility and it’s important that we put this at the top of the list of TO DO’S.

Every day many millions of people participate in an endless and eternal prayer circle. Today I am one of them. With every prayer I tangibly move the world in a direction of peace, harmony and joy.

It’s no SECRET that we live in a holographic universe. Despite appearances, the past, the present and the future are all happening right now. This means that in every moment I can change my life and have a new experience.

One of the ways I’ve discovered to cash in on this no space, no time, holographic continuum is to allow my mind to travel back in my memory to the places where I got hurt and made choices from fear creating situations I would now like to rewrite. Ka-ching!

When I discover that some old hurt or fear is influencing the choices I’m making now I go back to the past in my meditation. I call forth the grace of God and revisit the experience in my mind making the highest choices that I can make now. With God, I forgive myself and everyone involved. I choose compassion. I look to see with new eyes and an open heart. Inevitably I can find the “higher” choices. I allow myself to experience these in my heart and I am free. I release myself and my fellow prisoners. It is astoundingly liberating to reclaim the part of my precious life energy that was holding onto the past hurt.

With this practice of compassion and forgiveness I’m literally creating miraculous openings as I relive the past with a more loving heart and pull that love forward into this moment now. Big Forgiveness = Big Freedom, it’s no secret. Ka-ching!

I forgive the past and choose Love now. Where I am, Love is and ever shall be.

In Masterful Living 2012 class we’ve been looking at what success means to us. So often people define success as something achieved on the outside. Success in the world is what most people think of.

Success in the world is always illusory. Even if you build the tallest building, someone might decide to fly a plane into it and send it crashing to the ground, making of it a monument to hurt and anger. Even if you win the Academy Award for Best Actor like Paul Muni or Paul Scofield for brilliant performances – people might completely forget you ever existed or that accomplishment ever happened. And would it make any difference if they did remember?

Someday no one will remember Britany Spears or Tom Cruise. Franklin Pierce was President of the United States of America for 4 years and I’ll bet you cannot name one thing he did that is noteworthy.

If we define success by something outside of us then we’re missing the opportunity to experience true and lasting success. What is success to you? What do you really value most?

The only thing you can take with you is your awareness. What is your focus now? Are you placing your attention on something that has lasting value?

I got such a great response to my email inviting you to come run away with me! I’ve gone ahead and BOOKED IT!

As you know, Easter and Passover come around the time as the start of the spring season. I don’t know about you, but at that time I like to have some FUN and some RENEWAL!

I’ve just settled with the Joshua Tree Retreat Center which is right next to Joshua Tree National Park – an amazing place, and a MUST SEE if you’ve never been there. Joshua Tree is about 30 minutes out into the high desert near Palm Springs. The nearest airport is Palm Springs, CA (30 min drive) – Ontario, CA is next closest (90 minutes), Long Beach, CA and LAX (Los Angeles) airports are about the same distance (2 hr 15min) – There are shuttle services that we can help you with.

It is a beautiful location – very simple, plain, rustic – there are 14 energy vortexes on the land and you will definitely feel the healing and clarifying energy of this pristine land. There’s a heated pool, a labyrinth, and fireplaces in the rooms – cozy!

We can go to Joshua Tree National Park for an easy hike and I’ll also have time to do private counseling sessions for an extra charge.
