One of the most interesting things I’ve learned is that being defensive is a form of self-sabotage. I used to invest a lot of thought into trying to hold forth in the battles in my mind. I was forever looking to attack someone, then defend myself, then gather evidence to support my case for how right I was or how wrong someone was. It was a huge allotment of time and energy.
At that time, I had NO IDEA that I was living in my own personal prison of mental masturbation. I didn’t realize that all of that thought, that I believed was hidden from others, was actually producing form at some level.
I learned that the way I feel today and the circumstances of my experience today are the product of my thinking in the past. I learned that I could change the experience I have tomorrow by changing my thinking today and that has been my key to happiness.
I choose the security of God’s Love!
