Above Lourdes in the Pyrenees on a beautiful day!

When it comes to choosing to align with the Higher Self or the selfish self there is no big or small. Every choice is key. Every choice is either a step home to your true identity or a step away. There’s no middle ground and that’s really good news!

On Monday, I was in Lourdes and I was hoping to go for a hike in the mountains around the city. There had been a lot of rain the previous week and I was really looking forward to a beautiful sunny hike outdoors in the scenic countryside. The weather channel website was telling me it was going to be not just rain, but thunder storms! My host, Oksana, at the B & B where I was staying said it would definitely not be raining, it would be a beautiful day.

As I set out for my hike, I was noticing the sky starting to look like rain. I also noticed that the ego was right there, inviting me to say “I knew it! I was right. The weather channel was right. Oksana was wrong.” I had to laugh. Why in the world would I wish to be right about something I preferred not to occur? What madness.

In that moment I affirmed that only the best for ME could unfold and that I preferred Oksana’s point of view.

What happened? I walked most of the way in the nice weather – there was a short rain burst and then gorgeous sunny skies. I had a great hike, and made it to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the panoramic views. Yes, it was a bit hazy and cloudy, and it was also perfectly gorgeous.
