It takes courage to live a life of Love. It takes courage to be open-hearted.
According to Webster’s Dictionary, courage is the “mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.” The root of the word courage is cour, which comes from the Latin and French words for heart.
It took me a long time to develop the willingness to have true courage. Why? Because I resisted being that loving and that open-hearted. What was deeply transforming for me was the decision to be compassionate.
I decided to be compassionate as a way of living – as a mode of being. I chose compassion as the vehicle for my life, if you will. I dedicated my self to that loving, understanding heart. Now that I live in my heart and look at the world through my heart I find that it’s easy to be courageous. I have nothing to fear. Truly. I have nothing to fear. Amazing isn’t it?
Would you be willing to develop the discipline of compassion if you knew that you would be able to have a life without fear? Is it worth it to you? If not, stick around. I intend to demonstrate the efficacy of my choice every day of the rest of my life!
I’m all in for Love! I have a passion for compassion!
