I AM victorious is one of my favorite affirmations. When I align with the I AM that I am then, I am God victorious. The thought of victory, or winning brings with it the idea of being victorious over something or someone. I AM God Victorious means overcoming the identification with the ego and remembering my true identity as perfect Love and Freedom.

The old “protest” song says “We shall overcome.” I notice that it doesn’t say “We might overcome” or “I hope we overcome.” Overcoming takes diligence and effort, but the most essential ingredient is knowing that I will accomplish it. I AM doing it.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of overcoming many times. In his Nobel Prize acceptance speech he said, “… nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral question of our time–the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to violence and oppression.”

My commitment to my personal daily practice of nonviolence is the tool I use to overcome my belief in limitations in order to live the life of love that I desire. Today, I know in my mind that I AM God victorious. I AM overcomes any impulse I might experience to be violent or unkind to myself or others, in action or in thought. In doing so I bring all humanity closer to the day of complete Peace. I AM the Peace of God and I AM God Victorious!
