People are liking my blogs on health and healing. I’m sharing what I’m discovering. One thing I’m preparing for right now is to offer a cleanse to my community so we can have a group experience and share. I love that.

As I live in Hawaii now, where the papaya trees are everywhere, I enjoy papaya on a regular basis – I can eat it every day! I recall some years ago having a friend over for meditation and I had prepared a treat of papaya for us as a snack. When I offered it he said he didn’t like papaya and didn’t want any. I was so surprised. I asked him if he’d ever tried it with fresh lime squeezed on it. He hadn’t. I suggested he might feel differently if he tried it that way. He agreed to give it a try.

Of course, he LOVED it! He said, “you mean all these years I could have been eating this?” I know how that feels!

As I’m preparing for this cleanse I started to wonder what are the health benefits of papaya. I’m aware that all healing is at the level of the mind and that there’s no food that can heal me or even one that could make me sick unless my mind was in agreement with it. I’m really not interested in making any false idols of foods or supplements. And, I know that most of us are going to eat food every day, so being mindful of what we eat and WHY we eat it is helpful in doing our mind training. Being mindful of EVERYTHING is what I’m going for!

So, I did the smallest amount of research about papaya and now I know why my body LOVES it so much! Good heavens! Talk about nutrition! I even started eating a spoonful of seeds each day. Totally yummy (I don’t choose to chew them, I just let them slide down my throat and enjoy the benefits. The benefits are SO MANY I’m not going to list them here. BTW – a ripe papaya is soft, and it’s SO much better with fresh lime or lemon. Delicious! Enjoy!
