Day 21: Choosing Strength Is Choosing Love

We made it past the 21 day mark! Now we’re on the downhill. Woo hoo!

One of the themes of our Pray & Clear program is that Love is our healer. Love is the only healer there is because Love is what we truly are. When we make loving choices it brings us back into our right mind and the healing happens on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, etheric and spiritual.

As it says in A Course in Miracles, “All healing is at the level of the mind.” We heal our mind and then the body heals. It can be very challenging to realize this truth. The more toxic our life is, the more out of touch with our emotions and our physical body the more convincing it is that our body is the problem, our life is the problem, the things of this world are the problem. When we believe the cause is in the world then we’re not willing to remember the truth that sets us free from these illusions of suffering. When we believe the cause of our suffering is in the world, we’re dooming ourselves to repeat the lessons of lack and limitation.

The way back to prosperity, health, wholeness, freedom and true Joy is through choosing Love. Many of us have become so used to self-medicating with food and substances or simply treating our body poorly that we don’t even realize how unloving it is – we’re just trying to survive the day! I get it.

That’s why I felt so strongly for several years to offer a simple program like our Pray & Clear, where we could simply join together to love ourselves free of the limiting thoughts and beliefs.

People are finding, after ONLY three weeks, that they can actually have a better life pretty quickly. Food addictions can be like a spell cast over our life. Self-medication with food becomes a habit that we don’t even know we have. It’s as though we fall into a trance or suspended animation – in a stupor that seems to be induced by sugar, gluten and more, but in fact, it’s because we’re wishing to disconnect from our feelings that we choose the foods that give us that effect. I AM willing to have a healing instead of disconnecting. Disconnecting is settling because we feel weak. Been there done that and wrote the mini-series.

Love wakes us up to what’s really going on. That’s why we’re focusing on loving ourselves and looking for the loving choices. When we choose Love we strengthen. Literally, we become physically, emotionally and mentally stronger when we choose Love. Try it and see for yourself!

A perfect way to prove it to yourself is if you’re feeling weak when you’re working out or exercising, or even trying to lift something that feels hard or heavy – maybe even climbing a flight of stairs – when you notice that you’re feeling weak, start thinking of someone you adore, someone you really have a deep Love for. Think about sending them Love and Light and notice how much stronger you begin to feel, how much more energy you have! It’s a simple way to prove it to yourself.

I used to co-teach spin class where we worked out really hard and we proved that when it felt tough, and we were too tired, thinking of Love would give us a burst of strength!

If you’re feeling cravings and you’re feeling weak, try the Love-Strengthener with the cravings. Think of someone you Love and adore and start sending them Love and Light and notice if the cravings are lifted too. All cravings are in the mind and that’s where we’re doing our healing. We’re working with the body to detox our mind.

It’s so valuable to do this because in the process we realize that WE have the power. Food, cravings, addictions, they don’t have any power. Love is the ONLY power and that’s what we are – perfect Love. The more we’re wiling to remember that, the faster our minds heal. Food, self-medication and addiction are all distractions.

Choosing Love is choosing strength and it’s a spiritual practice.

Spiritual practice SAVES time that would otherwise be spent in suffering.
Invest in spiritual practice rather than in suffering.

Repeatedly choosing to strengthen through Love throughout the day helps to dissolve the temptation to self-medicate. Instead we’re making loving choices that are self-nurturing. We’re cultivating a willingness to strengthen our alignment with Love. We can transcend the weakness when we PRAY and Partner UP! We’re building healthy habits! Before we know it – Love is our knee-jerk reaction in all situations! We’re choosing to get our Joy back and that’s a loving choice!

Nothing tastes as good as Joy feels!

On the cleanse side of life: In the book Clean, Alejandro Junger stresses that using a probiotic is very helpful in the restoration of our digestive track. The way people eat, and the drugs people take kill the good and necessary bacteria in our digestive system. By adding in probiotics we’re speeding up the healing and repair of our digestive tract and cultivating the healthy bacteria we need to be able to function properly. There are many options on probiotics. Dr. Junger recommends finding a probiotic that has 15 billion organisms per dose. Right now, I’m taking a liquid one that is made here locally in Kauai from coconuts. I take one dose per day in the morning on an empty stomach (after I brush my teeth) and I let it sit there for a while before I drink some water. You can find lots of probiotic supplements. Many come in pill form. There are also plenty of probiotic foods like kimchi, pickles, sauerkraut and other pickled vegetables as well as kombucha. I’m taking a kombucha break right now because it’s made from sugar and caffeine, even though the sugar and caffeine are supposedly consumed by the kombucha mushroom. Kefir is a great probiotic source as is yogurt – but we’re not doing dairy right now. You can find kefir made from things like coconuts. Delicious – not inexpensive though. For now, I recommend the pickled items or a probiotic supplement. Always feel what is best for yourself. Probiotics will support the quickening of your healing the digestive flora!
