Did you know that more people have heart attacks on Monday morning than any other day of the week? It’s not difficult to understand why. Many people have frustration, despair, fear and anxiety associated with their workplace or their job. When we hold resentments and upsets it affects the functioning of our organs.
I’m aware that many spiritual students struggle with health issues and feel conflicted about the A Course in Miracles teaching that tells us “all healing is at the level of the mind.” It’s challenging for most of us to really understand it, but it’s so worth it!
If you’ve been holding onto resentment and regret, it’s like holding onto a burning stick. It burns again and again, and sometimes people get so used to it, they don’t even realize they’re hanging onto something that’s burning them. My grandmother used to repeat that quote about how you can get used to anything. She’d say, “You can get used to hanging if you hang long enough.” She was a southern belle and they have a saying for everything. It’s so true that people get used to hanging and they lose perspective. It’s amazing how quickly we can lose perspective and not even realize it.
Thoughts of regret and resentment are inflammation of the mental body. Regret and resentment cause mental agitation. I’m an expert at that. If we don’t eliminate the inflammation and agitation at the level of the mind, then it travels into our emotional body and causes emotional upset. Upset is more inflammation. Usually it’s a sign that we are making the regret and resentment real by building a case of evidence to support it.
If we don’t heal the mental inflammation and agitation when it’s causing upset that’s noticeable at the emotional level then in moves into our physical body. Every time we go over the resentment and regret in our mind it creates shock waves that are like a blast rocking our foundation of health and well being.
Of course resentment and regret are optional. They’re based on our opinions and judgments, which are never true and always optional.
Invest your interest and attention in resentment and regret long enough and it has to create an effect. Ever increasing suffering is the effect.
The good news is we can change our mind in a moment.
We can PARTNER UP with the Higher Holy Spirit Self to do the heavy lifting.
If we’re willing, healing is inevitable.
