Many spiritual students struggle intensely with the same belief. I used to struggle with this too. It’s this thought that causes so much pain and suffering:
I don’t have it what it takes … to be loving, to be spiritual, to transform, to awaken.
In my year-long Masterful Living Course – and in my Finding Freedom class – many start with this same limiting belief that they can’t do it because they don’t have what it takes. What I love about my work is that I get to support people in eliminating that belief.
I can’t do it.
I don’t have what it takes.
There’s something wrong with me.
I’m not worth it.
All of those beliefs are versions of the same limited thought. And not one of them is true.
I’ve come to realize everyone can do it. Everyone does have what it takes. No one is bad. There’s nothing wrong with anyone. Everyone’s worth it.
We’re all one. We all have within us the same seed of perfection and wholeness. What matters is whether or not we choose to believe it, water it, and grow it to full stature.
The ego is like an old 8 track tape of negative beliefs and affirmations that keeps going around and around. We can press the stop button. We can turn the sound down. We can interrupt the pattern again and again until it breaks and is done. This is what we can do. We’re not helpless.
I learned to face the ego when it told me I couldn’t do something and to say, “Yes, I can and yes, I AM. I AM doing it. It’s is happening now. It is being done by me. I AM doing it now.”
I was willing to keep saying it and believing it until that’s what I really knew. Now, I can know it for others and that’s a beautiful thing.
Our willingness is critical. I AM willing to heal and transform now. Today. This day is my victory day!
