Right now, I’m camping at the Sunray Peace Village in Lincoln, Vermont. I’ll be here for a few weeks. I’ve been coming here to camp and to receive teachings from my teacher, Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo, for ten years now.

I love the opportunity to camp and be on the land here – it’s such a healing place. Sleeping and being here is to be in a healing vortex. It’s so nourishing to my Spirit. I love to be in nature and the Green Mountains of Vermont, camping near a stream with gorgeous waterfalls and being able to be so immersed in the beauty of the land is heaven for me. I find nature so deeply restorative.

I do camping my own way. For instance, I have a HUGE tent all to myself. I have a queen size (of course!) inflatable bed. It’s like having a little cabin in the woods. There’s a community kitchen and bathrooms here, so it’s not building fires to cook on unless you really want to. I wear dresses.

Some people have made fun of me for having such a big tent and a big bed, and for having my own “Jennifer style” of camping. That’s okay. I don’t mind. I’m interested in enjoying my life and sharing that Joy with others. I like to enjoy my environment and make it beautiful. I like having food that’s delicious as well as nutritious.

I make an effort not to have any attachments to how things are, while still being able to be clear about what I prefer. I have preferences, but if I don’t get them met, I’m ok with that. Still, I feel it’s really valuable to know what you like and be willing to hold the space for yourself to have it without attachment.

Eric Butterworth, the wonderful Unity minister, who was my introduction to New Thought when I was living in NYC back in the 80’s, wrote a book called Life is for Living! Life IS for living. We’ve incarnated at this time in order to be a beneficial, healing presence – and that means living your life fully.

Too many people lead lives of “quiet desperation,” afraid to even recognize what it is they like and prefer. They are afraid that if they actually articulate what they are desiring that they’ll be punished, or that they’ll never get it.

Having clear intention to manifest a life that you enjoy is very valuable. Holding that intention without attachment is the way to bring it into being. Let’s live our lives fully!

If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful won’t you please share at facebook and twitter to let others know? Thank you!
