ENOUGH! I decided I didn’t wish to learn through pain anymore. It was a really good decision (obviously). You’d be surprised at how much of a difference it makes when you’re ready to make a decision. You may believe that the power of your mind is not very great and that your decisions won’t make much difference, but that’s not true.

I understand why we come to believe that our decisions have little value. After all, we say we’ve decided things such as:

I’m not having anymore of those brownies – and then we have another one;
I’m going to get to work on time today – and then we don’t;
I’m going to get that chore done today – and then we don’t;
I’m not going to sleep with them again – and then we do;
I’m not going to (fill in the blank) ever again – and then we do it right away!

Time and again, we’ve “proven” to ourselves that our decisions are meaningless. And that’s just one version of learning through pain.

We each also have had the experience of deciding we were going to do something, get something, have something, discover something and then we followed all the way through and we’re so grateful we did.

It’s in the latter cases that we ACTUALLY made the decision.

Saying, “I’m going to start that diet/exercise/abstinence/program tomorrow,” and then not doing it, isn’t actually deciding. It’s more akin to wishing and hoping. It’s probably closer to a fantasy.

When we actually decide to get in shape. We do it. We follow through. We become unstoppable through our desire. Desire means “of the father” – De-Sire. When we decide with our heart and don’t entertain the idea that we’re NOT doing it, then we’ve made that decision and that is 99% of the work. It’s the willingness we need to see it through to the completion.

Pain and suffering are optional. It comes from our perspective, our point of view. We can choose to align with a higher perspective and experience a MUCH less pain-filled journey. We CAN decide to have a journey of learning without pain.

I love this video, because it shows the power of deciding. I encourage you to invest 5 minutes in being inspired to be unstoppable!
