I Love Salisbury! I’ve been in Salisbury for more than a week now with my Sacred Sites tour and my Spiritual Counseling Training Intensive and it’s been so wonderful for me. It’s the best of everything when I get be with the people I love, in a place that I love, doing the things I love, and being in Peace and Joy together. It’s just the best!
One of the things that I can bear witness to is that I didn’t always enjoy my life so much. I used to be a chronic complainer. I was a fault finder. My ego believed that finding the faults in everything somehow protected me from getting hurt.
I used to walk into a room and look for what was wrong. Which isn’t a great way to start anything if you’d like to enjoy your life.
I felt that I had all these complaints stored up about everything and everyone and so I could use them as weapons of attack if I needed them to protect myself from anyone having complaints about me or finding fault with me.
Now, even when things seem to be “not good,” I can know that they ARE good and that everything works together for my good – there are no exceptions. Making exceptions is how we keep the sense of separation going. Claiming the good is how we are able to begin to recognize it even when it’s not readily apparent.
I’m training my mind to see the good and to enjoy life. It’s working! Being able to have the experience of being so happy and grateful for the smallest things – a delicious cup of tea, the sight of the cathedral in Salisbury, a walk in the woods, a smile from a stranger – these are the daily delights that I used to miss and now they are mine – all free! And I AM sharing the benefits with everyone. Woohoo!
