My family has a very beautiful home on the coast of Maine which we rent out most of the summer in order to cover our costs.  I’m in-charge of getting everything ready this year.  An important part of the vacation rental process is having a good cleaner to go in and clean the house and prep it for the incoming tenant.   Yesterday, our wonderful cleaner, who has done such a good job for us in the past, seems to have quit without warning or notice.  And, I found this out the day before I was leaving to go back to NJ/NY and lead my week-long Spiritual Counseling Training Intensive next week.

So, yesterday afternoon, I found myself calling everyone I could think of to see if they knew someone who could handle the work and the responsibility – because if they don’t do a good job, it could turn into a great deal of difficulty.  There are a lot of people who clean houses in the summer time on this island, but there are a LOT of rental houses.  Everyone seemed to be booked up.

I am so glad and grateful that I don’t feel upset or bothered by my wonderful cleaner’s quitting on me at the last minute.  I have absolute faith that EVERYTHING is perfectly designed for my good and I accept that fully.  I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to enjoy my plan to stop on the way and stay with my friends Lisa Natoli and Bill Free and enjoy their company.  I also am not going be able to stop and stay with friends Richard and Karen Carothers and enjoy their company.  God has a different plan for my good.

Of course, I have found the perfect cleaners.  A pair of sisters who sound just wonderful on the phone and whom I feel will do a great job.  I found their ad in the local classifieds.  I knew they were the ones when I read this in their advertisement: If it’s dirty, we make it purdy!  I’m excited to meet Jasmine & Shawna on Friday.

I could have been stressed out all afternoon, but I didn’t choose that for myself.  I kept affirming that Spirit was going to handle it.  I listened and followed my guidance.  I stayed grateful.  I was willing to go with the flow.  I enjoyed myself and talked with people I haven’t really talked with much.  I even called my dental hygienist for a referral!

My afternoon and my experience was a demonstration of this beautiful ACIM Workbook Lesson 135:

A healed mind does not plan. It carries out the plans that it receives through listening to wisdom that is not its own.

It waits until it has been taught what should be done, and then proceeds to do it.

It does not depend upon itself for anything except its adequacy to fulfill the plans assigned to it.

It is secure in certainty that obstacles can not impede its progress to accomplishment of any goal that serves the greater plan established for the good of everyone.

A Course in Miracles Workbook-p I. Lesson 135. 11:1-5.

Are you attached to your plans?  Is your attachment causing you to suffer?  Are you willing to have trust and faith that Spirit can handle it for you?  If you are, then get ready to ROCK!

If you’re finding what I’m sharing to be helpful, won’t you please share at facebook and twitter to let others know?  Thank you!
