Sometimes, the darkness can seem so real. At times, the darkness can seem to have real power. I have found it tremendously helpful to consistently remember that there is but one power and that power is Love.
Darkness has no power, but when we invest in the darkness, it does seem as though it has power. But that’s only because we’ve leant it our energy.
A Course in Miracles reassures us so beautifully:
“You will never lose your way, for God leads you. When you wander, you but undertake a journey that is not real. The dark companions, the dark way, are all illusions. Turn toward the light, for the little spark in you is part of a light so great that it can sweep you out of all darkness forever. For your Father is your Creator, and you are like Him. The children of light cannot abide in darkness, for darkness is not in them.” T-11.III.5.
There are times when the darkness seems so sticky. It can feel like quicksand. And yet, the power to rise up and out of that quicksand is within us all if we choose it. Join me on my radio show today, where my topic is Transcending Darkness, Illness, & Depression.
