Have you ever woken up with a feeling of dread? A lot of people do. I certainly have, but I can’t remember the last time because it’s been so long. Would you like to eliminate that feeling of dread from your life? Of course you would! Are you willing to look at it and let it go?
Ask yourself: *Who is it that dreads? Is it me, my true Self, or the ego?
I already know the answer:
What does the ego dread?
In my experience, the sense of dread comes from identifying with the ego, the small selfish, always inadequate, forever lacking self. I was believing that I was lacking something and couldn’t succeed. Dread feels like it’s not going to be good, and you’re on your own, there’s no hope.
Why would I want to get out of bed if I knew I couldn’t succeed? If I’m already a failure even before my feet hit the floor, why bother?
That belief that I can’t succeed is like kryptonite to our inner spiritual super hero.
Here’s why I don’t have that feeling of dread anymore:
I have LOVE and I know it. I’m so clear about it because it’s my very being.
Love always succeeds.
I AM Love and LOVE IS success.
Love overcomes all obstacles.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Corinthians 13:4-8
Dread is evidence of intense opinions/beliefs coming up for healing. It’s evidence of keeping a record of wrongs and being self-seeking.
If you don’t enjoy feeling dread, choose again. Partner UP! Then choose again. You’ll be surprised at how a simple, steady spiritual practice of being loving cures the dreads.
Instead of focusing on eliminating dread. Let’s put our attention on cultivating Joy-full anticipation. It’s always more effective to focus on what we’d like to develop rather than focusing on what we’d like to eliminate.
We’re letting the Higher Holy Spirit Self do the heavy lifting and we’re choosing to live a life that we can love. Yes!
