This time of year that can be a lot of talk about sadness and depression. Old hurts are coming up to be healed. It’s not fun, but it’s still of great benefit to us. Let’s make the most of each healing opportunity that comes our way so that we don’t have to repeat them again.

Some people live in places where it gets quite dark by the winter solstice, and the light starts to return. That darkness can seem to lead to more sadness. It’s an external invitation to turn inward and find the Light inside – where it’s always been and always will be.

In this late autumn time, let’s harvest the Wisdom from our challenging experiences and release the pain of the past. Release that which no longer serves. One thing that I had to release – and I’m so glad I did – is that I was really into the “specialness” of my moods, attitudes, and drama. I felt so special because I felt so misunderstood. It was a reason for existing – or so I thought!

“When you are sad, know this need not be. Depression comes from a sense of being deprived of something you want and do not have. Remember that you are deprived of nothing except by your own decisions, and then decide otherwise.” (A Course in Miracles, Chapter 14, Section IV, This Need Not Be – Paragraph 5)

It can seem that the world has got us into that state of lack and limitation.
It can seem that things are being taken from us.
It can seem that what we want we do not have, cannot have, and will never have.

Appearances are all symbolic of our beliefs, and our past.
Let us heal the mind that believes in lack by identifying with our spiritual identity – which lacks in nothing – it IS that inner Light. Our true identity’s very nature is unlimited good. Let’s identify with our expansive Self, the I AM that I AM rather than the small selfish self that is only an illusion.

I AM that great I AM. I AM the Light. I AM the Love.

If you’re feeling depressed, and feeling far from being Light and Love, know that it is your willingness to choose another thought that is your healer – count your blessings – Love and gratitude is the spiritual practice that heals. Call upon the Mighty I AM Presence to show you the way and just be willing to be willing to see that you truly are already as Holy as Holy can be.

In my yearlong Masterful Living Course, a number of people have healed their depression, gone off anti-depressants, let go of old hurts and sadness that has troubled them for many years, and sometimes, a decade or more. I believe you can, too.

Healing habits that are the cause of depression and fear is a major part of what my Masterful Living Course is all about. My 2018 Course begins January 1st! (Registration closes January 11.) There’s such a Joy that breaks out when people are practicing releasing the shame and the fear together and encouraging each other.

Year after year, I’m impressed by how much healing is possible when we’re willing to let the Higher Holy Spirit Self be in-charge of HOW the healing happens. Our job is to ALLOW the healing. Our job is to call it forth, receive and accept it. Let’s get to it!
