I used to have a real problem with rejecting people. I would sense some kind of criticism or rejection coming my way and I’d try to beat the person to the punch, so to speak. I was playing an ego game of “I’ll reject you before you reject me.”

Like attracts like. And nothing changes unless someone decides to do something differently.

I started to experience a lot of healing in my life when I made the decision to shift that pattern. I decided to develop the patience to hold my tongue. It was very important to me and I really made up my mind to do it.

I put Spirit in charge of showing me all the opportunities to be patient and shift things. What I discovered was that in the time of being patient I could hear my heart’s call to be loving and compassionate.

I used to take offense SO easily. It was a big challenge for me not to go off like a rocket at the slightest provocation. I was deeply insecure, and that was the cause of my fear-based reactions, but I didn’t realize it.

I was SO defensive. And that was exhausting. Pretty quickly, it was obvious that it was just so much easier to live a life without rejecting others. Other people’s rejections became a point of compassion rather than me taking it personally.

Taking time for the pause. Being patient. Giving myself a chance to just BE with what was occurring allowed me to remember that I was much more interested in being loving than being right.

Now, I can feel that I was rejecting God’s Love.
Now, I know that it is my calling to extend Love.
All are called. We can answer this call every time it appears.

I learned to be grateful for the times when i got triggered because it brought my awareness to an opportunity to extend Love and change my life, which I surely did.

It seems overwhelming, but it’s really about only a few things:

Decide what’s most important to you and commit to it to the best of your ability in the moment.
Ask Spirit for assistance and guidance.
Follow the guidance you get.

This is how we transform our lives from being a giant pain in the butt to being a healing presence! It works!
