Have you ever spent the entire night sleepless, twisting and turning because you’re shattered to your core about something someone did? I have. It’s like having 3rd degree burns on the inside AND the outside.
How do you forgive, when what happened is such a blow to your heart, to your self-esteem, to your relationship? It seems impossible.
Experiences like that are so disturbing, because it is a threat to our identity. Fortunately, it’s only a threat to our FALSE identity — but we don’t know it at the time.
One of the big challenges is that we cannot truly move on until we fully forgive – and how many people know how to REALLY do that?
Life is a forgiveness adventure or it’s a forgiveness hell – you decide what it is for you. I choose adventure!
Without the ability to TRULY forgive and let go of the past, we’re preventing ourselves from having a happier life.
All forgiveness is an adventure, of sorts. The more I travel down this road of life, the more clear I am that forgiveness is the way out of all suffering, pain and difficulty. I love this life, now that I’ve learned to forgive! I never imagined I would ever be someone who could possibly say those words! WOW!
