With each passing year, I am ever more grateful for what I’ve learned and for what I’ve let go. This past year has been a time of seeing really old patterns of separation falling away. In many ways, I’ve felt like I’ve shed an old layer that just couldn’t feel comfortable anymore. I am so grateful to let it fall away!

I’ve learned quite a lot. I’m always learning. I experience a combination of discovering truth that I already knew but had forgotten, mixed with discovering and learning through direct knowing and insight.

I love the end of the old year and the beginning of the new, because each year I find I am spiraling up to a higher expression of Love and service.

I have a completely different experience of my challenges now. Challenges used to be SO INTENSE for me. I’d feel just stabbed in the gut, cut to the core with salt being rubbed in the wound, and it’s just not like that anymore. THANK YOU, GOD!

Challenges can be so intense, yet they each contain an amazing gift. We were talking about this in Masterful Living class this past week. Let’s pause to really appreciate what challenges are for. Let’s be grateful and harvest the learning!

Every difficulty, every experience, and every occurrence in our lives is for our learning – and for the opportunity to be truly helpful to ourselves and others.

A Course in Miracles tells us everything in our life is “gently planned by One Whose only purpose is our good.” Accepting that as truth brings great relief from suffering, and it requires true willingness.

When we choose to be grateful, and to open our mind and our hearts to the experiences there are to learn and grow, it’s a miracle. When we accept the miracle, then we don’t have to repeat the challenge.

When we hold onto resentment, regret, blame, hurt and other thoughts that block the flow of Love, we block the miracles, too. Eventually, we’ll accept the truth and welcome the miracles.

A Course in Miracles reminds us that “the miracle substitutes for learning that might have taken thousands of years.” In other words, one moment of extending Love, having a realization of the Truth, will actually eliminate thousands of years of learning through experience.

As ACIM tells us all the time, its purpose is to save time we’d otherwise spend in suffering.

I’ve learned that if I don’t accept things as they are, then I cannot harvest the learning from my experiences and I have to continue to repeat them. Perhaps I’ve spent thousands of years repeating the same lessons because I was judging that everything was bad and wrong, instead of realizing the opportunities to extend Love and have compassion.

That was then, and this is now.

In this now, I choose Love. I choose to live a miraculous life, and to harvest the learning from my experiences. And, I choose to contribute to the end of all suffering. This gives my life purpose and meaning.

I feel that 2019 will have a LOT for me to learn, to remember and to realize. There will be a great deal to be grateful for, and I’m excited for every bit of it. I’m glad we’ll be sharing this year together as Prayer Partners!

My Masterful Living Course helps people establish an effective spiritual practice. It’s not intellectual. It’s from the heart. This is what works to undo these chains that bind us to keep repeating the past.
