OMG I love what is unfolding in this ministry! I’m so blessed, because right now I get to talk 1-on-1 with the folks in my Masterful Living Course and hear how they’re doing in a more intimate connection. Not everyone is having the same high level of results 100% of the time, and sometimes there needs to be a breakDOWN before there comes a breakTHROUGH. I’ve certainly experienced that so many times!
I love that more and more people are willing to really do the work and stop just talking about it.
I love that more and more people are realizing that the tools and practices actually work and miracles are the result.
Plus, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE the people who are showing up to walk this path with me!
Yesterday, I was thinking about how intense the ego thought system is. I’m always opening my mind to more ways to be truly helpful.
It’s not always easy to experience or witness, but very often we do have to have an intense break down before we can have that amazing break through.
I sometimes think of the movie An Officer and A Gentleman with Richard Gere, Lou Gossett and Debra Winger. I think of the scene where Gere’s character, Mayo, finally has a breakdown to get his breakthrough.
It’s so intense for his ego, but it’s so necessary. He wants to be an officer, but he doesn’t have team spirit because he feels so alone and on his own. He’s got to look out for #1 because no one else will. In order for him to be an officer, he’s got to be ALL about the team or he can never lead. He doesn’t get that. He has to hit rock bottom to develop some true humility and get out of his false hubris.
It’s painful to go through these humiliations. It’s not required for us to fall to our knees in shame and desperation in order to have finally have the humility to let God in, to let other people in, to realize that we need to be connected to others and we cannot do it all on our own – but we often choose that painful path. Fortunately, it does work if we hit the bottom hard enough – it can knock some sense into us.
I am so very grateful for everything it’s taken for me to get to this point and I don’t look back with anything except gratitude for the opportunity to learn to Love myself and others. It’s a wild ride, and I’m so glad I don’t have to go back and do it again!
Here’s the memorable sequence from An Officer and A Gentleman – it makes me cry every time. I am grateful for God’s eternal Love. I am so grateful that Spirit never gives up on us, and that EVERYTHING works together for our good!
