I have written about this several times because it was such a “thing” for me and I’m so glad it’s not anymore. I used to have an aversion to people who were anxious and nervous and worried. I felt as though they could possibly transmit their fear to me and that I’d catch it – and I didn’t want it.

Of course, anyone who is paying attention can tell who is afraid and who isn’t. The bully seems tough, but deep down they are FAR more terrified than the person who appears nervous. The person who seems angry and pushy is acting from deep-seated fear.

Now, I can see that the feeling of aversion to other people’s worry and fear was that I already had plenty of my own and I didn’t want to take on anymore. To me, feeling afraid was a failure. Back then, I’d rather have experienced many difficulties than let anyone know I felt fear.

Now I can feel the fear and hand it over to the Higher Holy Spirit Self and move on. I’m not afraid of fear anymore.

I feel so grateful that I can ever be of assistance to someone who is feeling afraid or worried. If you meet someone who is anxious, I encourage you to do what you can to support them. Sometimes it’s best to simply pray silently and send a smile.

I remember ten years ago, when I was on a silent Vipassana retreat for 10 days, and one of the women in my bunk house (there were something like 11 of us) was in her late 20’s. We weren’t supposed to look at other people. We were to keep our gaze inward and focused on our own awareness, but it was difficult not to notice this young woman was crying a lot. She was really processing a lot of guilt and shame, or so it seemed to me.

At one point, I looked at her when she was crying and seeming to be quite miserable with herself, and I simply winked. I winked to let her know, “This too shall pass.” It was a small gesture, but I meant it with a great deal of Love and support. At the end of the ten days of silent meditation, she told me that it had meant a lot to her.

Spirit guides us.
All the time.

We get nudges to say or do something, and sometimes it seems out of character or out of step but I’ve learned to do it anyway.

I’d rather listen to Spirit and be in tune with that Voice than listen to the ego and be in lockstep with it’s endless demands.

What is the intuitive nudge that you’ve been getting that you’re not listening to? Will you be willing to follow your intuition today? It’s the perfect time to do something new! Tomorrow is the new moon!
