I used to feel quite fearful about life – and it showed up as all my judgments and attack thoughts.
Yesterday I had a very long day of driving from Maine to New Jersey, and in the midst of it I ran into a fierce storm of heavy rain, thunder, and lightening with emergency tornado warnings blaring from my phone. It was a bit of a tricky situation made even trickier by a couple of factors.
First, I had a car packed to the brim with my things – and so, my sight lines were narrow on all sides.
Second, my air conditioning is not functioning properly and I have been traveling for months, so getting to a mechanic wasn’t easy AND I didn’t need it where I was in Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts, so it wasn’t a priority.
This last part was the bigger issue in this storm, because the warm air and humidity of the storm were giving me major fog in my windows and no way to clear it with my defrosters.
I had to pull off the road during the storm, and do it carefully, until I could safely move forward.
In situations like this – even though they’re challenging – I feel safe.
I have come to learn that the reason I feel safe is that I am coming from my loving heart.
I used to be entrenched in ego projections and attack thoughts, and I didn’t feel safe AT ALL.
I felt threats were EVERYWHERE. And that’s how I learned my safety lies in my defenselessness.
I vote that we teach this to our children and then they can teach it back to us!
It’s so amazing to me that we can change our minds about things and the situations and circumstances really do shift and change. This is why I’m so keen on actually DOING THE WORK and not just talking about it, or thinking about it, or listening to audios and reading books.
It’s our own personal work that makes a difference.
It’s quite miraculous! These are the benefits of being miracle-minded. I did a podcast episode about that and you might find it helpful. Click here to listen to Don’t Be Blind to Your Miracle . You can also get the transcript there too – all available at no cost. Enjoy!
