Midnight Meditation

The last few of days I’ve had so much work to do, plus a long travel day, that I’ve been going to bed at 2 and 2:30 a.m. It is what it is, and although it’s unusual and not my preference, sometimes that’s what feels necessary to get things done. All of the last few days have been very light on time to just relax and rest, or even just have a real lunch break.

I am grateful, SO GRATEFUL to be living my absolute dream career, answering my calling and working with the most wonderful people in the world. I’m so very blessed!

And with all the extra work, travel, etc., I maintain my spiritual practice of prayer and meditation. I was sharing in Masterful Living [1] class yesterday that about 12:30 a.m. the night before I realized, “Oh! I still have my hour (or so) of spiritual practice to do!” So there I was, beginning my meditation at 1:30 a.m. and as I sat there, I had a big sweet smile [2] on my face. The vibration was so sweet.

The Earth was so still, listening to crickets, everything was calm and the energy of the meditation was so restorative – much better than sleep. I loved it!

What I’ve learned is that meditation always improves my life.

It’s the thing I make a priority ,and it always feels like the BEST investment of my time and energy [3]. I don’t ever feel that I’ve made the wrong decision when I invest in my healing.

I am so grateful for Jesus [4]’ reminder in A Course in Miracles that “Rest comes from waking, not from sleeping.” When I’m this busy, there’s a temptation to wish to skip Self-care, and spiritual practice – of course, there is – but I’ve learned that is the way of the ego and not the way of Spirit, and I’m not interested in the way of the ego anymore.

I encourage you to have a spiritual practice that revives and restores you every day. Not one thing on this Earth will bring more benefit to those who suffer. Not one thing in life will bring more Joy than the Joy of knowing we are One with the Infinite. We are worth of the great Love that is our true identity!

The more we dedicate ourselves to Self-Love, Self-care and spiritual practice as the foundation of that, the more quickly we’ll have world Peace [5], and that’s a fact!

I’m curious, what is your spiritual practice? Please tell us about it and share in the comments below! Thank you!
