Yesterday I had two people ask me about self-sabotage. This is a topic I know A LOT about. I’ve engaged in SO MUCH self-sabotage in my life and it taught me a lot.
One thing I’ve learned is that everyone engages in self-sabotage. It’s part of life. Some people REALLY judge themselves for it, and that becomes yet another layer of self-sabotage. In a sense, it’s like adding insult to injury. Ugh.
Self-sabotage is for the purpose of slowing down our spiritual growth.
It’s very effective.
AND it’s completely reversible as well as stoppable.
In order to eliminate self-sabotage, we can focus on Self-Love and release and replace.
We release the habits of sabotaging ourselves by focusing on having an effective spiritual practice and employing it each day.
An effective spiritual practice is one that eliminates the root causes of negative and self-destructive behavior.
An effective spiritual practice eliminates the root causes of self-hatred and self-sabotage.
I am grateful that we can make changes that are profoundly healing and nourishing. I am grateful we can change our minds.
I used to stay up late watching television and falling asleep in front of the television.
That was a form of self-sabotage, because then the next day I’d regret it and I’d beat myself up for the choice I’d made the night before.
The first step toward healing was to stop beating myself up. Once I stopped that, then it was easy to eliminate the staying up late doing something that really didn’t mean anything to me.
AND I began to feel a true and consistent quickening in my awakening!
That’s how I learned that self-sabotage is for the purpose of slowing down our awakening.
What is something that you can see as being in the neighborhood of self-sabotage, and what is something you could replace it with that you’d actually enjoy? Let’s inspire each other today!
