Life is so crazy. On the one hand, we are desperate for Love and are working so hard to get approval, and on the other hand we push it away and reject it over and over again. That is the insanity of the ego.
We’re seeking Love because we feel unworthy of Love, and then we reject it for the very same reason. Nuts!
The fastest way I know of to end this nonsense is to actively choose Love. This means being able to make loving choices all day long. And that means being able to recognize the unloving choices and say no to them.
One of the most unloving choices we can make is to be manipulative to other people. We do it to get approval, but if we knew we were worthy of Love we wouldn’t do ANYTHING to get approval, because we’d know that we are pre-approved by our Creator.
Every manipulative thing we do is a cry for Love.
Every manipulative choice we make is an affirmation that we are unworthy of Love, so we have to try to steal it or coerce it and then, of course, we know that it’s not real Love, and so it’s like eating cotton candy. It’s a temporary distraction with no fulfillment and no nourishment.
We can be manipulative to get other people to do what WE think they should do, as well as to get them to like us, stay with us, marry us, be with us, and not leave us.
And that’s why I’m a proponent of Self-Love and Self-Care.
Would you plan your days the way you do if you knew you were completely loved and lovable?
Let’s look at our choices and ask Spirit to guide us to the most loving choices we can find. That’s what turns the tables on the self-destructive patterns of the ego that only take us down a rabbit hole of negativity.
Self-Love is healing and liberating – it’s the path to everything we desire that’s worthwhile.
Today is the day the Lord has made for us to Love ourselves and each other. Let’s go for it!
