I’ve been thinking about the effect that our phones and screens are having on our relationships. I’ve seen teenagers on a date and they’re not speaking to each other, just looking at their phones.

I cannot even conceive of how having a cell phone would have changed my life. I absolutely loved talking with my friends and boyfriends in person and on the phone for hours and hours a day – such a different quality of conversation than texting.

I like listening to people’s voices and seeing their faces. I don’t talk on the phone much anymore, I prefer to be able to see people so I have my calls on zoom or skype or FaceTime or WhatsApp, so I can see people.

I love to see the faces of my loved ones.

Their faces are so precious to me.

I’m so grateful that our devices have evolved to where we can see each other and hear each other despite great distances, despite the virus.

To me, there’s nothing more precious in this life than our connection to Spirit THROUGH our connection with each other.

This is what opens my heart and helps me to heal my mind, release attachments and extend more Love.

My fellow humans ARE my salvation.

One of the things I’ve really enjoyed lately is our nightly gatherings with Masterful Living Community to pray and meditate together. I love being able to have that sweet time with these folks I love and know so well. We say good night to each other and I wish them sweet dreams. So precious.

Life is certainly shifting and changing and yet the constant is the value of our connections with each other.
