Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to think of ourselves as being our brother’s keeper. It can feel like it’s too much to care for all the people in the world who are struggling with poverty, illness, famine and disease.
I’ve felt overwhelmed by that sense of responsibility many times. Yet, I’ve learned that I can pray for all humanity many times a day and that brings benefit.
No prayer is a wasted energy.
Every prayer from the heart is successful.
In a world where so many people feel unloved and unlovable, our prayers are an expression of Love, an extension of Love and that is profoundly healing, deeply meaningful.
If we ever feel lost, confused, bereft, filled with dread and despair, we can rise up through our prayers for our brothers and sisters.
When we pray for anyone we pray for everyone because we’re one with all.
I find it so comforting that the prayers I make many times a day are bringing benefit.
If they weren’t, I wouldn’t feel compelled to pray. I know this is true.
Now, with things in the world as they are, let us pray and pray and pray. It brings benefit to everyone, and none will receive more benefit than we, ourselves, the ones who pray.
