One of the themes in A Course in Miracles is that Spirit has already made us holy. I like to say “we’re already as holy as holy can be.” There’s a beautiful passage about meditation that gives us this clear insight:
“Enormous effort is expended in the attempt to make holy what is hated and despised. 9 Nor is a lifetime of contemplation and long periods of meditation aimed at detachment from the body necessary. All such attempts will ultimately succeed because of their purpose. Yet the means are tedious and very time consuming, for all of them look to the future for release from a state of present unworthiness and inadequacy.” T-18.VII.4.
Over and over again in ACIM, Jesus is pointing out our holiness, our perfection, our magnificence, and yet we deny it while we’re in search of our specialness. Sigh.
We don’t have to believe in our holiness or our magnificence, we just have to be WILLING to accept it.
Think of Jesus, working so hard to help us know the truth.
Let’s help a brother out!
The least we can do is stop denying it.
Repeat after me, “I am willing to accept my holiness.”
And if it makes it any easier we can begin by accepting the holiness of our brothers and sisters. It’s a really good start.
Let’s do our part to bring true Peace to this world.
Accepting our holiness is the key that opens the door to our awakening awareness.
Today’s a good day to be willing to know this truth and accept it.
