I used to have nightmares – lots of different kinds, but they stopped. I’m so glad for that and I completely attribute that to my spiritual practice.
Grateful to find that having a consistent spiritual practice makes a real difference.
I also used to wake up in a bad mood. I don’t know what caused the bad mood, but it was awful to start my day with a feeling of dread looming over me.
There were so many times when I’d wake up and realize where I was and think, “Oh, I’m here again. Still here. Ugh.”
Now, I mostly wake up excited for the day. I’m looking forward to the opportunities to learn and grow that every day surely presents.
Again, I attribute this to my spiritual practice.
My spiritual practice each day consists of these things:
- Prayer morning, noon and night, and all throughout my day.
- Meditation, I do different meditations and I really LOVE the Kirtan Kriya that I offer in my 40 Day Meditation Challenge.
- Contemplation, I like to just sit and see what Spirit shows me.
- Self-care. I consider my Self-care a part of my spiritual practice because it’s an expression of Love and compassion.
- Forgiveness, this is the release of any judgments that get triggered about anyone, including myself.
- Being in nature, even if it only means sitting on the deck and looking at the birds or walking to the mailbox at the end of the driveway to get my mail.
My Grandfather used to say, “the money you give the church costs you nothing.” He had learned the power of tithing.
I can also add that the time I give to Spirit costs me nothing, Spirit will find a way to give it back to me.
If I take extra time for journaling or prayer, I’ll find that someone will help me with a project and that saves me time.
When we invest in Spirit, it always comes back to us multiplied so, let’s choose healing as often as possible today!
Honestly, I never thought I’d experience the healing that I have. I didn’t know how to get past the struggle with self-medication and self-sabotage, but I did – because of my spiritual practices. And that’s what I’d like to share with you.
