Are you actively resisting your awakening and you know it?
I get it.
It can seem as though our feelings will overwhelm us and that we could actually die from feeling our feelings when there’s a lot of hurt, anger, fear, and pain. And some times people do seem to get stuck in a feeling. So rather than go through that – we shut down.
An alternative to feeling our feelings is denial. Another alternative is to deaden ourselves with self-medication.
Self-medication is for the purpose of helping us to avoid feeling our feelings.
Self-medication is self-sabotage which is for the purpose of slowing down our spiritual growth to a more manageable pace.
One of the most CRUSHING and punishing ego thoughts I used to have is that I had “wasted” my time, my energy, my money or my life. I talk with a lot of spiritual students and this thought is SO common.
I can recall feeling sad and sorry for myself and keeping that going for a long time.
I can remember feeling angry and resentful and feeding that fire for a longtime.
I’ve felt confused and frightened and struggled with that feeling for years.
Must of us have fallen into these traps of feelings – however, it’s not the feelings that put us in the black hole stuck in an unpleasant feeling – it’s our thoughts and beliefs.
First comes our belief.
Our beliefs magnetize into our awareness thoughts that are congruent with that belief.
When we start thinking those thoughts that are congruent with our belief we’ll have a chance to really examine the belief and discover the pain and suffering it inevitably causes to believe it.
What’s the alternative?
Truth.
Truth is liberation from suffering.
When we don’t allow ourselves to feel our feelings we get stuck in the thoughts without getting enough insight and clarity to move through it and see the lack of value in the thought.
We can learn to feel our feelings without feeding the fire of the pain.
We can discover what we’re actually thinking through observing the mind when the feelings come.
Then, we realize what it is we truly believe.
Now, we can trade it for truth.
Our Higher Holy Spirit Self knows the way out of suffering if we’re willing to follow. It requires giving up our. judgments, opinions and habits of self-medicating. That is the cost of Freedom.
To have Freedom we have to give up our suffering. Are you willing?
Who will we be if we suffered no more?
Do we need to suffer because we feel that it’s part of our identity?
How would we invest our precious energy if everything in our life felt good?
When we know the answer to these questions we’re a lot closer to our Freedom!
Fortunately, when we’re willing, the means will appear. When we’re willing to have courage to look within, the moment of healing arrives.
Our feelings point the way to our awakening.
In truth, we’re so blessed. Thank God we can learn to receive our blessings!
Willingness, not will power, is the healing of all resistance! We can do this!
