Another shooting. Of course it’s senseless. They’re all senseless, aren’t they?
This time at the start of a 4th of July Parade. Insane. Of course it’s insane.
I keep coming back to the same thing – Love is the answer.
Yes, make it harder for young men to get guns. Maybe make it at least as difficult for a young man to get a gun as it is for a young woman to get an abortion. Have a waiting period. Background check. Social media check, etc.
Still, that’s not going to heal the issue.
These young men who do this are deeply troubled, obviously. I believe we can all help.
We can bless all the young people of the world every day and pray that they feel loved and that their life is worthwhile.
We can acknowledge young men, engage them in conversations, and ask them what they think.
Let’s learn about them rather than just assume we know more than they do if we’re older.
Let’s be like Ted Lasso, let’s be curious. Let’s take an interest.
I feel so strongly that we need to go our of our way to let the young people know they’re valued, we see them, we recognize them. They matter.
Let’s love them and appreciate them.
Let’s make an effort.
Love is the only thing that truly heals the root cause – which is the belief in separation.

I so agree with you about love being the only answer. I would post frequently on FB More Love Less War….Love is the only thing that
makes the “world go round” I have been a grateful member of Unity churches for 26 years and serve as one,of the chaplains when needed. So grateful to know that is what Unity Principles teaches. .Love, prayer, meditation, and non judgement. We are ALL children of God…
I was so saddened when President Trump was our president and the hate and judgement many people (including the majority of my Unity attendees and friends…Of course there were many things I did not agree with, as with our current President. And I was so grateful I chose not to judge or stop loving anyone. However, I had to set my boundaries regarding politics. And even to this day, I still hear the hate regarding our former President.
