When we’re feeling a lot of hurt, anger, fear, and pain, it can feel as though our emotions will overwhelm us. Sometimes it’s so intense, it feels as though we could actually die just from feeling our feelings.

There’ve been times when the guilt and shame were so bad I wanted to explode and disappear – anything to make it stop.

Let’s face it, there are times when people get an emotional shock and it’s too much for them. They actually have a heart attack.

Sometimes when the feeling is so strong, people do seem to get stuck in it.

An alternative to feeling our feelings is denial.  Another alternative is to deaden ourselves with self-medication.

Self-medication is for the purpose of helping us to avoid feeling our feelings. Self-medication is self-sabotage, which is for the purpose of slowing down our spiritual growth to a more manageable pace.

I can recall feeling sad and sorry for myself and keeping that going for a long time.

I can remember feeling angry and resentful and feeding that fire for a long time.

I’ve felt confused and frightened and struggled with that feeling for years.

Most of us have fallen into these traps of feelings – however, it’s not those feelings that put us in a black hole stuck in an unpleasant feeling – it’s our thoughts and beliefs.

First comes your belief.

Your beliefs magnetize into your awareness thoughts that are congruent with that belief.

When you start thinking those thoughts that are congruent with your belief, you’ll have a chance to really examine the belief and discover the pain and suffering it inevitably causes to believe it.

What’s the alternative?

Truth.

Truth is liberation from suffering.

When you don’t allow yourself to feel your feelings, you get stuck in the thoughts without getting enough insight and Clarity to move through it and see the lack of value in the thought.

Feel your feelings and then you may be able to have more clarity about what you’re thinking.

With more clarity about your thoughts, you’ll find it easier to realize what it is you truly believe.

Trade it for the Truth. Trade all beliefs for the truth. The truth really is a liberator. It can liberate us from the painful feelings.

Your Higher Holy Spirit Self knows the way out of suffering if you’re willing to follow. It requires giving up your. judgments, opinions, and habits of self-medicating. That is the cost of Freedom.

To have Freedom, we have to give up our suffering. Are you willing?

Who will we be if we suffered no more?  Do we need to suffer because we feel that it’s part of our identity?

How would we invest our precious energy if everything in our life felt good?

When we know the answer to these questions, we’re a lot closer to our Freedom!

Fortunately, when we’re willing to move out of suffering, the means appear.  When we’re willing to have courage to look within, the moment arrives.  Our feelings point the way to our awakening.  In truth, we’re so blessed.  Thank God we can learn to receive our blessings.

P.P.S.  This Thursday:  free forgiveness workshop!

Forgiveness is so healing it’s hard to believe how beneficial it is until you’re willing to really dive in.  I’ve worked with so many people that have had healing at all levels simply because of the forgiveness they did.  It works whether we believe it will or not.  It’s miraculous.
