Compassionate Listening

Friday, November 6th, 2020

In my Spiritual Counseling Training Intensive, one of the things I demonstrate and teach is the healing power of compassionate listening. It’s extraordinary how much can be lifted, shifted and healed when we’re willing to set all judgments aside and listen with our heart.

This is one of the most helpful skills we can have and we can develop our ability to listen with compassion to a point that is truly extraordinary.

Because this IS what we’re designed to do and how we’re meant to live.

A Course in Miracles calls it “extension.”

When we listen with true compassion, we’re extending Love which is the only true healer there is.

We are being profoundly helpful when we offer compassion to our brothers and sisters.

Being able to listen with compassion to someone we completely disagree with is a level of spiritual maturity that we can attain. We can even be at Peace listening to someone we dislike. When we’re not judging, we can be at Peace.

Being able to have the willingness to listen with compassion is a great leap forward in consciousness.

This IS how we raise ourselves up out of the muck and mire of feeling separate.

During this time of intensity in density, let’s commit to a high degree of listening with compassion so that we can truly help heal the illusion of a divide between people in this world. This is our work to do – let’s get to it!

Grace is Always Available

Thursday, October 22nd, 2020

I’ve learned a really beautiful lesson.  It was difficult for me to learn because my personality thought I was right and that I knew better than LIFE did what was best for me.

My lesson was that LIFE is always providing me the best possible ways for me to grow and learn.

LIFE is leading, guiding and directing me toward easier, simpler, higher, better, faster, more direct ways to learn and grow with less difficulties – and I used to fight that.  I was a great resister.

What a TREMENDOUS blessing it’s been to learn to go with the flow.  When things are going a way I don’t like, instead of resisting, I can relax.  I relax first, partner UP with Spirit and ask for the guidance I need to see the highest and best path of Love.

My willingness is the key that opens the door to ease, grace and real growth.

My resistance would show up as complaints, taking offense, feeling hurt, trying to control or manipulate.  That just made the lesson harder to learn and the pain harder to burn.  It was exhausting.

When we’re fighting the flow, it’s exhausting.  When we’re resisting the growth, not trusting Spirit, and trying to figure it out on our own we find it tiresome and troublesome to proceed.

Grace is always available.

“Spirit is in a state of grace forever.

Your reality is only spirit.

Therefore you are in a state of grace forever.”

A Course in Miracles

Grace is always there, just beyond our opinion that things should be different.

Creative Cooking

Wednesday, October 21st, 2020

I’ve been coming to Vermont almost every summer since 2006 because I wished to study in person with my spiritual teacher, Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo. Venerable started the Sunray Meditation Society and established the Peace Village where I’ve been camping each summer. This year, I was guided to move here and rent a home.

During this time of Covid, I’ve been experimenting with oatmeal cookies because they’re Venerable’s favorite.

I have been working on a recipe I’m pretty happy with that is delicious!

My goal was to find a recipe that was gluten free, vegan and non-fat – and I think I’ve come up with one!

Pumpkin Ginger Oatmeal Cookies

1 can pumpkin
1 1/3 cup Monk Fruit
1 T cinnamon
1 t vanilla
Dash of salt
1/2 cup minced fresh ginger
2 T flax meal

Mix all that together then add:
3 1/3 cups oats

I let it set for a while as the pumpkin is quite wet and the oats will absorb the juices and I feel it makes better cookies.

You can add raisins and nuts as you like, use less ginger, omit the flax, use sugar instead of monk fruit if you prefer. These are flexible.

You can also make them with 4 super ripe bananas instead of the pumpkin. I just prefer the pumpkin.

Form the dough into normal cookie size patties and bake on a baking sheet – I use parchment or silicone baking sheet – no fat needed at all.

10 minutes at 350

Once baked, I store them in the fridge because they’re a bit damp – it just depends on how soon you’ll eat them. I keep them in the fridge and then toast them in the toaster oven and have a few for breakfast – they’re chewy and very satisfying.

Two make a great snack with coffee.

I haven’t tried with nutmeg, allspice etc. I’m sure pumpkin pie spice would be a nice change from just the cinnamon and vanilla. If you like turmeric, you might try that as well. Fresh or powdered.

Please let me know if you try them!

I order Monk Fruit from Amazon – it measures exactly like sugar – tests better (to me) than sugar. Click here to order the brand I’ve been using: Organic Monk Fruit – granulated.

Monk fruit has a surprising number of benefits which you can read about here by clicking here: Monk Fruit Benefits.

Sheltering in Peace

Saturday, March 21st, 2020

I returned to New Jersey from Los Angeles this past Monday and I’ve been sheltering in place ever since. Even though my family is just a few miles away, I haven’t been to see them and I won’t go to see them because I don’t have a way to be tested for Covid-19. It’s entirely possible that I’ve been exposed while traveling, and it could possibly incubate for weeks without me having a clue. I’d rather be safe.

As an A Course in Miracles student, I know this: my script has already been written. Your script has already been written. All the possibilities for our lives are written into our script the way that all the possibilities are written into a video game script. We cannot change that script, but it’s vast. As with a video game, no one knows how we’ll play it.

In each and every moment we have the opportunity to choose Love.

The more we choose loving thoughts and actions, the more we open up the higher, more loving and harmonious aspects of our script AND the more we open up to new and sometimes intense challenges to help us increase and awaken our awareness even more.

The more we choose fearful thoughts and choices, the more we open up opportunities to learn through pain and suffering.

We can choose to learn through pain or Joy.

It’s our free-will choice.
We get to decide.

Mostly I choose to learn through Joy, but not always. I’m more consistent and I’m grateful for that.

I am choosing not to be afraid, and I’m also choosing to be responsible and not reckless. The protocols are quickly changing in this world, at least for now, and I am staying home, isolated in the physical realm by myself, but I have so many people I’m interacting with on Zoom and on the phone that I am feeling very connected with people. I’m actually talking with friends more often right now because it’s more important right now. What are you doing more of right now, besides praying?

I know that people are feeling worried and afraid, and so I’m working on things we can do to support people where they are.

I don’t feel worried and afraid, because I absolutely know that if I were to get sick that it would be in my script and it would be for my highest and best.

Being sick would present a series of forgiveness lessons that would be greatly beneficial, even if I didn’t like them.

I’m truly interested in the maximum growth opportunity, even though I must confess I don’t always choose it. Sometimes I shrink back and choose to avoid. Some days I feel stronger than others. Some days I have more dedication than others.

What I’m grateful to see is that every day I’m making more and more loving choices and that I am constantly feeling more free of ego thoughts, control, and manipulation. I rarely get bothered or upset, and when I do it’s usually quite fleeting.

If you feel something coming toward you in your script that you don’t like, make a change in your thinking. Call upon the Higher Holy Spirit Self and rise UP in your awareness by making as many loving choices as you possibly can. Don’t let it just come toward you and run you over – Partner UP and get help. Our mind is the Mind of God – we aren’t victims!

I’m looking at how we can offer my Finding Freedom From Fear Boot Camp sometime soon for those who are feeling really challenged by fear right now. If you’re feeling afraid, consider listening to my free podcast, A Course in Miracles. Consider subscribing, and you can search for topics that will support you at this time. There’s about 440 episodes, plenty of choices!

You can also subscribe to the Podcast of my Prayer for Today and you’ll have hundred of prayers to choose from – one for every occasion. Prayer works.

People tell me often that they fall asleep listening to me, and I’m not offended. I have the intention that my voice is soothing and inspiring, so if it soothes you to sleep that’s a good thing.

I’ve been thinking of making a recording of me whispering positive thoughts that someone could listen to as they fall asleep – would that interest you? I’m looking to be helpful. If that would be helpful, or any other thing you think I could offer, please suggest it in the comments below or email it to me at

Thank you!

Friends with Coronavirus

Friday, March 20th, 2020

I have a friend whose husband who came down with a bad case of the flu. When things got REALLY bad, he took his beloved to the hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and tested for Covid-19. A couple of days later, they got the test results back and it turns out he’s got the virus.

And he’s doing better since being in the hospital. Phew! He’ll be there another week at least, minimum 14 days, but he’s mending and that’s great.

My friend is home with their two little boys under the age of 5. It’s rough because they can’t go out and no one can come in, a whole new concept of home alone with kids. Imagine not being able to go out and play, having to be in a smallish apartment with little ones for weeks without a break. We have no idea how long they’ll be quarantined.

I’ve sent them a play tent with two crawl tunnels and I hope it will help wear them out and entertain them for hours. I wish I’d thought of it last week – it can’t get there soon enough!

I know others that have had symptoms but can’t get tested. They’re getting better, too. Phew!

In Masterful Living classes this week we’ve been talking about how we can reach out to people we know who might be having a tough time. I invite you to make a list of people that you can check in on and see how they’re doing. You never know when your phone call might make all the difference in the world to them.

Most of us know someone who doesn’t have a lot of family who lives alone, who is older, and in this kind of a situation they become isolated.

Someone without a spiritual practice, watching the news all day home alone, can really be way too much for them mentally and emotionally.

Who can you reach out to and check on?

Maybe it’s an aunt or a cousin that you hardly ever talk to. Get out your address book and start seeing what people are up to.

Make a list and get started connecting with them.

In Masterful Living we all have Zoom accounts. Get a free Zoom account and start having Zoom parties.

I have 4 Prayer Partners that meet with me every week on the phone. We’ve been doing it for about 13 or 14 years. Every now and then we have a special meeting and meet on Zoom. This week we did that and it was so good just to see each other.

I had a family meeting on Zoom with my brother, his wife, my niece and my nephew in one place, my nephew in Spain, my nephew in California, my Dad and his wife in North Carolina, and me. It was great!

My nephew, Ben, in California was quite despondent about the Bernie Sanders campaign, so I made my dad tell us all stories about campaigning in the 60s. My nephews had never heard these stories and it was great! (I’m encouraging him to work for the brilliant and beautiful Rep. Katie Porter who is his local rep.)

There was a beautiful moment when my dad got really choked up, remembering what those times were like for him and my mother. He told stories of my mother working for social justice and pushing me in the baby carriage. I remember being in marches against the Vietnam war with my mother, mothers and daughters marching on Mother’s Day. My nephews were so impressed, genuinely, and that was beautiful.

I am an instigator. I’m an activator. I feel compelled to see how I can be helpful.

It’s who I am.

And we’ve all got the same life purpose: to be TRULY helpful.

For many people, these times will be the most difficult times in their lives.

And we need to think of them right now and how we can help them.

This is the time of extreme pressure that forces people to get real and decide, are they going to change and grow or keep resisting? It will be very intense for many.

Let’s vow not to judge anyone and have compassion for everyone, even the ones who hoard toilet paper, even the ones who hoard protective masks when the healthcare workers have none. Judge no one, Love everyone.

We can do this – if we work together!

Inspired by a Virus

Thursday, March 19th, 2020

Alright, all you poets! Now is a great time to inspire us with your insights! A Capuchin Franciscan Brother Richard Hendrick’s poem “Lockdown” went viral, and this St. Patrick’s Day we can see why.

Brother Richard Hendrick, a Capuchin Franciscan living in Ireland, has penned a touching poem about the Coronavirus.

He shared his poem “Lockdown” in a Facebook post on Friday, March 13.

They say that in Wuhan after so many years of noise
You can hear the birds again.
They say that after just a few weeks of quiet
The sky is no longer thick with fumes
But blue and grey and clear.
They say that in the streets of Assisi
People are singing to each other
across the empty squares,
keeping their windows open
so that those who are alone
may hear the sounds of family around them.
They say that a hotel in the West of Ireland
Is offering free meals and delivery to the housebound.
Today a young woman I know
is busy spreading fliers with her number
through the neighbourhood
So that the elders may have someone to call on.
Today Churches, Synagogues, Mosques and Temples
are preparing to welcome
and shelter the homeless, the sick, the weary
All over the world people are slowing down and reflecting
All over the world people are looking at their neighbours in a new way
All over the world people are waking up to a new reality
To how big we really are.
To how little control we really have.
To what really matters.
To Love.

So we pray and we remember that
Yes there is fear.
But there does not have to be hate.
Yes there is isolation.
But there does not have to be loneliness.
Yes there is panic buying.
But there does not have to be meanness.
Yes there is sickness.
But there does not have to be disease of the soul
Yes there is even death.
But there can always be a rebirth of love.
Wake to the choices you make as to how to live now.
Today, breathe.
Listen, behind the factory noises of your panic
The birds are singing again
The sky is clearing,
Spring is coming,
And we are always encompassed by Love.
Open the windows of your soul
And though you may not be able
to touch across the empty square,

We’re standing for a rebirth of Love in our hearts.

We seek not to change the world but to change our minds about it, and to see that God has a plan that includes more Peace, more Love, and more Joy and we’re willing to allow it to be revealed in our hearts so we can share it with the world.

Immune Booster

Wednesday, March 18th, 2020

This was first posted on February 28th, and is being posted again because so many people said it was helpful to them. Please share with others if you feel it can support them at this time. Thank you!

With all talk of the Coronavirus, how about some information about how to boost our immune system with ease and grace?

I remember years ago having Marci Shimoff tell me in a Living A Course in Miracles class that HeartMath Institute had done research about boosting your immune system with some simple techniques that many of us spiritual students already know about, and there were some interesting side notes.

In the study, subjects were asked to intentionally extend care and compassion for five minutes. Then a few days later, they were asked to feel angry about something that bothered them and to trigger that upset.

In each case, after five minutes of either being loving or angry, they could see the results in the subjects’ immune systems.

The loving subjects had their immune system boosted immediately by an average of 41%.

After an hour they returned to normal, but then slowly increased over the next 6 hours. Wow!

Most surprisingly, the students who were angry got an 18% immune boost, but an hour later their immune response had dropped to HALF what it was before they were angry – so a very significant repercussion. Six hours later, their immune system was still depressed.

Here’s another interesting fact — some of the subjects were shown a video of Mother Theresa and their immune system increased as much as 240% IMMEDIATELY.

So, what Marci told me back then is that a little bit of spiritual practice – 5 minutes of extending Love and compassion – will boost our immune system for six hours, and getting angry and upset will depress our immune system for more than six hours.

I would bet, but I have to know what to prove it or confirm, that the people who got angry and were able to fully release their judgment that was causing the anger would see a different immune response.

Many people stew on their anger, and that would, in my estimation, be the cause of the longer-term immune effects.

Be loving, be strong.
Focus on unloving, fearful thoughts and you’ll literally weaken yourself.

I used to teach spin classes in Los Angeles, and I told people that if it seemed really hard, think of someone you really Love with all your heart and no conditions and it will give you the strength to get through that tough part – and so will projecting Love and compassion to others.

Love is the Power.
Love is the healer.
Love is what we are!

Do you have something to share about this that can inspire us? Please share in the comments below!

Accepting the Unacceptable

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

Not being able to accept what’s actually happening can be a very intense experience. When I knew my mother was not going to live much longer, I had to accept it. That was what was happening, and while I didn’t wish for her to leave this world, I couldn’t stop it. I had to accept it.

We all have had experiences where we very resistant to accepting something that felt unacceptable to us.

We rejected it on principle.

There are times when we are intensely challenged because we love someone who doesn’t want to have anything to do with us. Or, perhaps they care for us, but not in “that way” and so we have to accept how they feel.

There are many experiences in life that are intensely challenging to the ego that we can find so difficult to accept.

There’s power in accepting what is.

Even so, we don’t have to like what is. We just have to accept that “it is what it is.”

When we can accept what is without ascribing value to it, without making it wrong or right, bad, or good, then we’re moving into a place of holding things in our mind without judgment, which means we can learn how to see them objectively and correctly.

This is deeply healing.

When I cannot accept something, it becomes like a splinter in my mind, agitating and irritating.

Non-acceptance is like that sore tooth that you can’t stop running your tongue over to see if it still hurts. Acceptance brings relief, but when we don’t like something, we’d rather be in the pain of constantly rejecting it than move into the Peace that acceptance can bring.

Our ego attachment to being SO RIGHT about HOW WRONG something is can actually drain off years of our life spent invested in distress, irritation, resentment, regret, guilt, blame, and shame.

That’s no way to live.

Today on my podcast, I’m going to talk about accepting the unacceptable so that we can take our power back and use our time, attention, and energy more wisely. Let’s invest in something that actually brings us benefits!

I’m so grateful for this spiritual practice of A Course in Miracles! It brings me Peace every day even in the midst of great disturbances! Victory!

Heroes of Healing

Monday, March 16th, 2020

One of the things I began to learn right away as a Spiritual Counselor was that I can actually help other people have miraculous healing. How? By seeing them correctly.

Whenever we’re willing to affirm the truth, witness truth, and celebrate truth, there is healing.

This is gratifying work. We can walk in the world as secret agent superheroes, blessing everyone we meet and bringing real benefit, if we choose.

Today, let us be heroes of healing.

Through our ability and capacity to extend Love, we become the healers that we were designed to be. That’s why Love feels so good to us. It’s our opportunity to be in alignment with the Divine, our own True Self.

We are designed to facilitate the healing of our own mind and that of our brothers and sisters.

A Course in Miracles tells us that all healing, whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, financial, etheric, spiritual or whatever, all healing is at the level of our thinking, the level of the mind.

All healing is essentially the release from fear. To undertake this you cannot be fearful of yourself. You do not understand healing because of your own fear.A Course in Miracles, T-2.IV.

It’s so wonderful that when we choose healing, the whole world is sharing in our healing.

Our choice is this powerful. Power-FULL.

Our choices make a difference to everyone, not just ourselves, they are potent and powerful.

Calling All Miracle Workers

Sunday, March 15th, 2020

These interesting times are the ones that we came here for. I know that anyone who is reading this e-mail decided to incarnate at this particular time for the purpose of being able to be a beneficial presence at this time. Let us not shirk our opportunity. Let’s dive into holding the high watch of remembering the truth, despite ALL appearances.

Now is the time for spiritual students to commit to being a TRULY helpful day in and day out. Spirit will guide us in the HOW of it if we’re willing to ALLOW ourselves to be led and guided. Let us step up and be of service to the Light.

The best way that we can be of service is not to be afraid. How do we do that? We don’t judge things, we accept them as they are.

After all, why wouldn’t we when we know that everything works together for good and there are no exceptions? Let us not start making exceptions and finding fault.

Let us choose Love and answer the cries for Love with compassion.

The more we practice, the more helpful we are.

The truly helpful are invulnerable
because they are not protecting their egos
and so nothing can hurt them.

~ A Course in Miracles

Let us be miracle-minded and miracle workers.

A miracle is a service. It is the maximal service you can render to another. It is a way of loving your neighbor as yourself. You recognize your own and your neighbor’s worth simultaneously.” A Course in Miracles, Miracles Principle #18

Look, I know it’s challenging to not make the world real when the intensity of density is amping up, but it’s for this time that we were born. This is the perfect time for us to REALLY go for it. This is the time of our liberation, and we have everything we need within us to accomplish it when we put the Higher Holy Spirit Self in charge.

This is precisely why, every day, I write inspiration and record a prayer to go with it. You can join me in cultivating the willingness that raises us ALL up so we can be truly helpful in this world. Please share my daily prayer with anyone who would find it helpful. The prayers are also available in a podcast.

We shall overcome all forms of resistance to the Light.

We pray for the truth to be revealed in our hearts and in our minds and for love to prevail on Earth as it is in Heaven. We are united!

Choosing Peace

Saturday, March 14th, 2020

I posted on Facebook last weekend that I was hearing the song “Let It Be” playing in my heart, and I am still hearing it.

When I find myself in times of trouble,
Mother Mary comes to me
speaking words of wisdom,
“Let it be.”
And in my hour of darkness,
she is standing right in front of me.
“Let it be, let it be, let it be.”
Whisper words of wisdom,
“Let it be.”

We can let Love be the truth of our being and then forget every other story we made up.

We can be of service in this world.

This is not a message of being passive. It sounds like it is, but it’s not. We can actively let it be.

We can actively be aligned in choosing Peace and serving Spirit.

“The mind that serves spirit is invulnerable.” A Course in Miracles

If you’d like to FEEL invulnerable and actually BE invulnerable in this world, consider serving the Light from the Light of your being.

In other words, serve because there’s nothing you’d rather do, not because you’re looking to get something. It’s already been given.

Moving into that place of invulnerability is worth everything that we can put into it. It’s a way that we can be proactive for God.

We can liberate this way – through choosing to serve humanity and Spirit.

We feel vulnerable because we feel guilty about the past, and we can change our minds about it.

Whenever we actively choose to be of service we’re going to feel more aligned and better about ourselves. That’s worthwhile and that’s being of service to all of humanity!

World View

Friday, March 13th, 2020

The way to recognize that you’re not seeing things correctly is to notice when you are upset. When we’re upset, it’s a healing opportunity. The upset is what I call our “Divine Alarm Clock” to let us know that we’ve got a skewed view. The skew of the view is why we’re upset. It’s never for the reason we think.

When our view is skewed, we can claim our healing opportunity gratefully and allow the healing and move on with grace and gratitude.

Now, that’s an option I like!

What I don’t like is feeling like it’s my job to be the police of the world.

When I first started to share more about A Course in Miracles around the world, I felt a number of people coming at me with their attacks. They wanted to prove I didn’t know what I was sharing about. They wanted to be right.

I was surprised at how many attacking and unloving comments I received. I realized that not everyone who studies ACIM aspires to really live the teachings and to be at Peace. And yet, the study of the Course will bring Peace, ultimately. Our willingness is ALL that’s required.

At first, when people were attacking me I thought it was pretty crazy, and it was. I prayed for those who were feeling compelled to attack.

My purpose was to facilitate a healing, and prayer is the medium of miracles.

I feel my prayers were answered because situations were transformed. To change the world, we work at the level of the mind that is in our heart.

In times when the intensity of density is immense, it’s time for us to rise to our calling and see things correctly.

All things work together for good. There are no exceptions except in the ego’s judgment.A Course in Miracles

Let’s not make any exceptions. Let’s choose to have a healing and use that upset to increase our awareness. It really works.

When we’re upset, there’s another way to see the world and we can find it. To see the better way, we must be willing to see beyond our projections. This is a skill we can cultivate. It’s what I’m training myself to do and showing others how to do.

A change of view is an inside job and it’s a great job to have!

Will you live in Peace? Or will you repeat the past?

Shining the Light of Love

Thursday, March 12th, 2020

Yesterday I flew from New Jersey to Los Angeles and I felt safe and secure the whole way. I travel with the angels. My BFF, Laurie, had asked that I be sure to take plenty of precautions regarding the Coronavirus, and so I did my best.

I am learning not to touch my face.
I am learning to open doors and things like that with my elbows and not use my hands.
I learned how to use my boarding pass on my phone.
I used Apple Pay to buy things in the airport.
I wore my faux leather gloves in the Lyft and in the airport.

I was surprised that very few people were wearing masks and I was the only one wearing gloves.

The mood was calm everywhere I went. The plane was about half full, which probably is not normal.

I feel safe because I fly in God Consciousness.

I trust that everything works together for my good.

If I had gotten an intuition not to go, it would have been from the still, small Voice, the Knower Who Knows, the Mighty I AM, and not the voice of ego/fear.

Let us walk in the world in service to the Light.

We let that alignment be our protection. We depend on Spirit and not on ego.

“The truly helpful are invulnerable, because they are not protecting their egos and so nothing can hurt them. “ A Course in Miracles

We are all called to serve the Light and those who do know how wonderful it is.

We are blessed and we are a blessing. The Joy that comes from truly serving Spirit, asking nothing in return, is unconditional.

Unconditional Joy is our inheritance and when we walk in the Light, serving the Light, living the Love, we are in alignment with it. There’s nothing to get, there’s only Love to share. We’re already it. We already have it. Joy comes from each opportunity we take to BE it.

We are the Light!

That’s what I was broadcasting as I traveled yesterday, and I was grateful for every moment of it. Thank you, God!

How will you serve the Light this day? Please share in the comments below!

Twice Blessed

Wednesday, March 11th, 2020

I’m traveling today. I am attending a conference in Los Angeles and I’ll be there for 5 days. I know that the news is full of stories about the coronavirus and I don’t feel worried or afraid. However, I can say that I prefer not to travel when there’s a lot of fear, because I am a sensitive person and I don’t personally like to be in an environment with lots of fearful people – at least, that’s the story my personality has about it.

In truth, I know that I am here only to be truly helpful. When there’s a lot of fear “out there,” then that’s the time for me to be available to support my brothers and sisters who feel worried and anxious. It’s the perfect time for me to travel and to help shift the vibration.

So often I used to blame other people for how I felt. I thought they were “doing it to me.” Now, I’m 100% clear that we do it to ourselves. And still, we can be truly, beautifully helpful by extending Love and compassion and supporting our brothers and sisters in shifting their stinking thinking.

That’s a gift that we get to receive as well as share.

I’m no longer interested in blaming others or circumstances for how I feel. I’ve learned that taking total responsibility for my feelings and eliminating the option to say “You make me feel” has been a great benefit to me.

A Course in Miracles tells us that taking that responsibility for our feelings is the way our of the hellish emotions we’ve brought upon ourselves. It’s hard to believe it’s true. That’s why we must practice it in order to know.

To learn anything at all is a blessing and I feel so blessed by the teachings of ACIM.

They help me and inspire me to live the life I most desire – and they are useful to me each and every day. What a blessing!

I share this blessing with you and I feel twice as blessed!

Thank you for being my Prayer Partner today!

In this crazy world, it’s often the case that we have to give up our attachment to what we think will make us happy in order to find the Joy that is our natural spiritual state. Our pursuit of happiness can make us desperately unhappy.

That’s the path of most resistance.

As a Spiritual Counselor, I’ve worked with folks who feel trapped by their egos. A good is example would be someone who is struggling to pay a mortgage.

They’ve come to see their identity as being a home owner, and they’re identified with being the owner of that particular house, for whatever reasons.

They find themselves working two jobs to try to make ends meet and cover that monthly payment. They are terrified of defaulting on their mortgage, ruining their credit, going bankrupt, or “losing” the house.

So, they struggle like that for years, sacrificing their happiness for the idea they have of themselves as the owner of this house.

Then, life makes it untenable. Something shifts to force them to have to make a change. They have a health crisis. They get into a car accident and now they need a new car. They get fired or laid off.

Life conspires to force them to look deeply at their attachment, because they haven’t been willing to do it on their own.

They’ve sleep-walked into a life of managing and coping with the things that support and sustain their ego attachments to how they see themselves. They’ve settled for a half of a life in order to maintain some facade that supports their self-identity.

It’s the path of most resistance.

Haven’t we all done that in something, in a job, or a relationship? Of course we have.

The most loving thing Spirit can do is to help it all to collapse so we can come back to our right mind and stop managing and coping with the illusion.

Often, that shift that causes the person to finally sell the house, declare bankruptcy, ask for help or whatever it is that they’ve been avoiding that will actually bring a great relief. We’ve stopped resisting. Phew.

The house burns down and it’s no longer an issue. There’s a real Freedom in that. Once they get through the bankruptcy or the short-sale of the house, there’s a huge relief. They can now choose what they’d like instead of living in that managing and coping existence.

Spirit always gives us the option to choose the highest, easiest path for change, but we so often resist it. That’s part of the learning. It doesn’t mean we’re doing it wrong. We can become happy learners, but it does require us to give up the attachment to managing and coping.

Have you been managing, coping or settling with something in your life that Spirit has been making it more and more difficult for you to continue?

Ask for guidance, be willing to go the other way.

There’s a healing that can happen if we get out of the way and let Spirit guide us to the path of least resistance.

Is it helpful? That’s a question to ask Spirit often. Many times we feel compelled to do something because we are judging that things should be different.

Example: We think someone should go to college rather than start their own business, and so we work against them having what they’d like and discourage them. We convince ourselves that we’re only doing what’s best for them because we love them.

In reality, we want them to do what we think they should do and we’re trying to control and manipulate them.

Sound familiar?

Is it helpful?

Here’s another example: Someone is having a difficult time and we rescue them so they don’t have to struggle.

We think we’re helping, but is it actually helpful?

Someone is doing something that seems embarrassing. It seems that they will be looking foolish, but we don’t want to interfere so we don’t say anything. Is it helpful?

What about when we do say something and it’s very hurtful, but saves them from humiliation. Is it helpful?

Life is filled with choices like this.

I’ve learned to ask this simple question: What’s most helpful here?

Another way to ask it is: How can I be helpful?

Another way to ask is: What’s the highest and best in this situation?

Asking is a great habit to get into. It saves a lot of time and energy. We’ll get an answer if we’re willing to hear it.

I like being helpful.

A Course in Miracles tells us that our purpose is to be helpful.

How will you be helpful today?

Holding a Vision of Love

Sunday, March 8th, 2020

On Friday, I was driving to my morning Pilates class and listening to Samantha Bee’s show, “Full Frontal”. She was talking about the politics of the week, and she’d recorded it before Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the presidential race. As I pulled into Pilates, I was surprised to find myself crying.

This isn’t going to be about politics. It’s about attachments to our hopes and dreams.

It tells us not to try to change the world, but to change our minds about the world as the ONLY effective path to change. I work that teaching in my mind and heart every single day of my life.

And still, I really, REALLY do wish to see a change in this world.
My life is committed to it. I am dedicated to it.

I know people all over the world read this daily blog, and the Power of Love Ministry serves people in over 100 countries. So you may not be aware that Elizabeth Warren was a progressive liberal woman candidate running for president who left the race on Thursday leaving, essentially, two white men in their 70’s, both of whom I like. But still, I would like to see more diversity everywhere in my life. I LOVE diversity.

Maybe it’s because when I was a little girl my parents were social activists, and we lived in a housing development established as part of the “War on Poverty” where there were only a few white families, and I didn’t see a lot of white people except for my family until we moved to the next place.

My whole life, whenever I’ve been in a room full of all white people I feel uncomfortable. I don’t feel at home. I like all kinds of diversity. I like the diversity of ideas and backgrounds. I like the rainbow of colors and kinds.

I remember going to a Bruce Springsteen concert in the early 1980s out at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, and when he sang “Born in the U.S.A.” an entire stadium of about 80,000 very white people were singing “born in the USA” with fists pumping in the air. I became concerned. I had thoughts of Nazi Germany and it was very surreal.

So, on Friday morning I was crying in the Pilates parking lot. I like a lot about Elizabeth Warren’s plans to make changes, and I do notice that I have a strong attachment to changing the way things are run in this world.

Later in the day, my thoughts drifted to Elizabeth Warren’s leaving the race, and I found myself starting to cry several times. I remembered her pinkie promise, which makes me cry all over again as I write this.

Still, each day I know that the cause of my sadness, my tears, is that I believe that things should be different than they are. I’m willing to heal that belief.

Sometimes we have to grieve the loss of what we dearly wanted and cannot have at this moment. Grief is not to be put aside and pushed down. It’s to be expressed. (We have a “Grief Support” class coming right up this month! Click here to learn more.)

I absolutely KNOW, with all of my heart, that everything works together for good and there are no exceptions. I pray for the highest and best for EVERYONE because I know that we are One with each other, and the highest and best for ANYONE has to be the highest and best for EVERYONE. I know it to be true, even though it seems illogical when you look at children in cages and other policies that seem to be cruel and unloving.

What I’m working for is a world that works for everyone.

I’d like a president that DEEPLY cares about the poor and disenfranchised, what Jesus would call “the least of them.”

This is the world that I hold in my mind, and I’m so grateful that I can hold that vision.

So today, I work to release my attachments to how I wish it would be or how I think it should be, and I hold the vision of what I call the “Golden Age of Enlightenment” dawning in our minds — all of our minds, with no one left out.

Over my 35 years of spiritual studies, the thing in the world that has helped me the most is my Spiritual Counselors. They helped me come back into my right mind when I was so intensely judgmental and couldn’t let it go. They helped me to live from my heart.

In 2014, I started to offer Spiritual Counseling Training and Certification for Spiritual Counselors, and it’s my joy now to announce we have certified two more Spiritual Counselors! Woo-hoo!

The program we’ve developed at the Power of Love Ministry is not easy and it’s not quick. It requires a lot of work, much of it very deep inner work. It requires 111 practice sessions.

These two women have done all of that and MUCH more to finish their Spiritual Counseling Certification.

Vanessa Bland Kathryn Hairston

Please help me congratulate Vanessa and Kathryn! I’m so grateful for their leadership, commitment, and excellence!

What a blessing they are to our community, and to their counseling clients and their families.

It’s been my joy to witness their dedication to their own personal transformation and healing, and to naturally share it with others to great success.

That’s how Spirit works.
All are called to be a loving and healing presence.
Vanessa and Kathryn have answered that call magnificently.
They are models of what is possible when we put Spirit in charge.

These two beautiful and brilliant women have been deeply and intensely challenged over their lifetime, as we all have, and challenges continue for all of us. But when we are co-workers with God, our work is joyful and brings the great benefit that we can share with others.

Whenever anyone decides to put the past behind and proceed with a loving heart, all are lifted. There’s power in that. There’s momentum.

You can learn more about Vanessa and Kathryn and how to arrange to have spiritual counseling with them and other Spiritual Counselors who have been certified or who are in training. Click here now to learn more.

Folks who are in Finding Freedom From Fear with me or Masterful Living, or other programs, regularly work with these beautiful counselors and have received extraordinary benefits from it. They all have wonderful testimonials!

Today we say a strong “Yes!” to being an active part of bringing forth the “Golden Age of Enlightenment”.  Everything we need is with in us!

Harmonious Relationships

Saturday, March 7th, 2020

February is relationship month for my podcast. Our relationships remind us to love, and they also inspire Love with in us. Love is our great healer.

Relationship is a profound and intensely challenging route to healing the mind. Releasing the attachments of romantic relationship or any kind of relationship can be one of the most difficult thing we do, and it also can bring the greatest benefit.

Let us all learn to trust Love, release all attachments, and remember to LAUGH!

Here’s some inspiration – a favorite passage of mine on Love:

Love by Emmet Fox
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer;

No disease that enough love will not heal;
No door that enough love will not open;
No gulf that enough love will not bridge;
No wall that enough love will not throw down;
No sin that enough love will not redeem…
It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble;
How hopeless the outlook;
How muddled the tangle;
How great the mistake;
A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all…

If only you could love enough, you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world.

Self-Compassion is Healing

Friday, March 6th, 2020

I have a niece and three nephews, plus a goddaughter and other children in my life. Some of them aren’t children anymore. Loving them as they’re growing up from infancy to adulthood, I’m aware of how completely I love and accept them. Although sometimes I don’t understand or don’t like their choices, the love I feel is constant and unconditional.

As I observed these beautiful beings coming into my life and “falling in love” with them, I realized that I was not so loving with myself. Where I wouldn’t judge them at all, I would be very hard on myself for the same behaviors. Having this realization really helped me.

In large part because of my love for these children, I realized how incredibly hard on myself I was. I made a decision. I decided to do things differently.

I started to treat myself the way I would treat the precious children in my life. I began to practice Self-compassion in a big, big way. It was truly healing and life-changing for me.

One of the techniques that really helped me was to imagine my nephew, Alex, when he was 3 years old. He was such a cuddly sweet little muffin of a boy. He has a huge heart and so wide open to life. He was incredibly easy to share love with, and he was very affectionate.

When I would feel upset with myself, I’d think of Alex. Precious boy. And I knew I would never, EVER in a million years yell at that sweet boy or say one unkind word to him. So, I decided to extend to myself the same kindness and compassion.

Again, it’s the decision that’s so important.
We are deciders.
Deciding is how we change our life.

Be willing to pause when you’re in a self-attack and think of someone you dearly love, someone who is so completely precious to you. Consider if you’d speak to them the way you’re speaking to yourself.

See if you can begin your self-talk with words like: Darling, sweetheart, precious one.

I would remind myself that I am the beloved of the THE Beloved and my thoughts are powerful and precious.

This one thought was very helpful to me in remembering to have compassion for myself.

Children learn best when they feel safe and loved, not when there’s a threat of punishment. The same is true of adults and ourselves. Love is our healer. Compassion is Love. Love is what we are.

The way to get in touch with our true identity is to value ourselves. It’s not that complicated.

The more loving we are, the more we can tell that the false belief feels false and the more we can notice that the Love feels real. Our willingness greatly improves our ability to recognize the true from the false. If we’re not willing to know the truth, we’ll just keep swimming in the false until we feel like we’re drowning.

Self-compassion is a practice we can learn until we no longer feel attracted to punishment.

The more we practice compassion with others, the easier it is to practice compassion with ourselves, and vice-versa.

Today’s a good day to practice! Please share in the comments some of the ways you practice Self-Love and Self-Compassion. Let’s inspire each other!

Last month, I did two radio show episodes on the topic of the “Self-Love Isn’t For Sissies” and you can click to download or listen to that episode here.

Medium of Miracles

Thursday, March 5th, 2020

One of the things that get in the way of our living a highly functional spiritual life is that we can feel that we know what’s best. We get attached to what we think will make us happy, even though we’ve had so many experiences in our life that absolutely prove to us, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we don’t know what will make us happy. It’s insane.

What about this? Instead of telling God what we want, what if we decided to just BE happy and let Spirit guide us there? What if we focused entirely on cultivating the willingness to follow the path of inspiration?

Following the path of inspiration does require us to LET GO of what we think will make us happy.

What I’ve come to understand is that what ACIM teaches about prayer is that our happiness actually comes from giving up what we think will make us happy and opening ourselves to being in the flow of Love, which truly is the only thing that is actually fulfilling and happy-making.

If our answered prayer is a thing, a condition, a circumstance, then it’s temporary, and because of that we’ll ultimately come to see that it cannot fulfill us. It can only temporarily make us feel full. There’s a big difference between feeling temporarily satiated and a sense of fulfillment.

Our answered prayer is actually a release of false identification and stepping into a realignment with our true identity. This is a shift that Spirit will figure out for us and we can be led and guided to it – if we’re willing to accept that the answered prayer is not in this world, it’s in our minds.

We are not in this world.
We are Infinite Eternal Spirit.

When our mind is changed/healed,
that’s a miracle,
and that’s what changes the world.

ACIM says, “Seek not to change the world, but to change your mind about the world.”

Prayer is a means for changing our minds.

It is the medium of miracles.

Prayer is an active demonstration of our willingness to be in the flow of Love rather than directing the flow of Love.

Combine that with the willingness to ACCEPT the answered prayer, HOWEVER it may arrive, and then our mind is no longer rejecting our divinity – we’re in alignment with the Divine.

It’s extraordinary how simple the most helpful tools can be. Prayer is a powerful tool to help us accelerate the healing of our minds.

Prayer has changed my life and improved the quality of every day.

I say pray, and pray often. Let us all live a life of prayer without ceasing.

We can be kind to develop humility or we can be humiliated. Which do you prefer? Please share in the comments below!

Life Purpose

Wednesday, March 4th, 2020

I’ve had so many people ask me to help them figure out what their true life purpose is. I get it. Many feel bereft and adrift, sad and lost without having a clear understanding of their purpose in life. My own sense of purpose is so strong and clear – it guides me every day in the most wonderful ways.

If you’re wondering what your true life purpose is, look no further.

I am happy to tell you that I not only have a clue, but I’m also sure I’ve got it right.

I have come to see that because we’re all One, we all share the same purpose:

To Love and to be loved.

Allowing others to Love us is just as important as being loving.

A Course in Miracles tells us, “God’s teachers appear to be many, for that is what is the world’s need. Yet being joined in one purpose, and one they share with God, how could they be separate from each other?” M-12.2.

One life, One Mind, one purpose. It makes sense even to the ego.

In being Love and receiving the Love, we are fulfilling our purpose to BE the Light of the world.

Love IS the Light.

When we focus on being loving and allowing Love in then our purpose is clear and we’re living it. Once we settle into that, then often specifics of actions to take will often be revealed.

I am a minister and a teacher in my career, my vocation.
I have a spiritual calling to do the work that I do.

My work is not my purpose.

My purpose is to Love and be loved. I can fulfill my purpose whether I’m working or not. Isn’t that wonderful? I rejoice in that!

I encourage you to try this purpose on for size and see how different your life is when you know your purpose and you live it. Everything lights up with Love!

Do you feel called to be of service?
How do you feel called to serve?
Please tell us in the comments below!

Perception & Projection

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020

Today on my podcast, I’m going to share about one of the core principles of A Course in Miracles: the nature of perception and how that’s related to psychological projection as taught in ACIM.

This is SO helpful to really understand.

Being able to be very astute at recognizing projections and identifying mistaken perceptions leads to a much greater experience of Peace of mind.

There’s a lot we can do to make life easier for ourselves, and this is one of them.

ACIM Workbook Llesson #5 is “I’m never upset for the reason I think.”

How could it be that I’m NEVER upset for the reason I think?

The answer is: we’re upset by our projections and our perceptions, which are also projections.

We’re upset when we interpret what’s happening through the lens of our belief system.

We’re upset because we’re choosing to see what’s not really there – all the while insisting that it IS there.

That’s crazy.
It’s crazy-making.

Hence the upset.

We don’t like being upset, yet we blame others for it. We blame circumstances. The only way to undo the upset is to take responsibility for seeing things incorrectly and then be willing to change our view, go the other way, make a U-turn.

We can live a life very little upset if we’re willing. It’s simple. Willingness is required.

Living a life of Peace is completely worth giving up our opinions.

I’ll share more today in my podcast. Please join me live or listen later.

Welcoming Abundance!

Monday, March 2nd, 2020

I didn’t and wouldn’t believe it until I experienced it myself. Truly. It didn’t make sense to me. I pondered it, but I couldn’t comprehend it until I gave myself the gift of it.

There is a way to remove the blocks to Abundance and it’s not what we might think it is.

Many of us have worked and worked to experience more financial flow in our lives when there’s a much easier way that brings SO MUCH benefit. It’s faster and available to EVERYONE.

First of all, I’ve known a number of people who were multimillionaires who were definitely abundant and prosperous, if you define Abundance as having money. However, some of them also taught me that if you’re not in the flow of Love, then no matter how much money you have it’s likely you will not FEEL abundant – you won’t truly be able to enjoy the Abundance.

It surprised me to discover that a major block to the flow of Abundance is unforgiveness.

Many of us get intensely triggered over money issues. When there’s a struggle financially, it’s often tied to blame, regret, and resentment. I discovered this myself, and I found out because I made the commitment to let go of the blame, regret, and resentment. Importantly, I had to forgive myself for being in my own way for so long.

A Course in Miracles tells us that all forgiveness is self-forgiveness.

Jesus also gave us the Lord’s Prayer which says, “And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.

When we let go of our judgment of others, we’re actually forgiving our own selves for all of our past debts and our trespasses. Why? Because we are eternally One.

When I realized that I was DONE with blaming people for things, that’s when I finally began the road to let go of creating debt and feeling the burden of debt.

ACIM says, “Whenever you act egotistically towards another, you are throwing away the graciousness of your indebtedness and the holy perception it would produce.”

In other words, our natural spiritual state of being is incapable of debt. When we recognize this, we’ll have the Clarity of mind – the holy perception – of our holiness, and all illusion of debt will dissolve into the nothingness from which it has arisen.

And this is why I teach forgiveness, because it has brought me back to my true Self and that has shown me the gift of grace that we all have. I am so grateful that I could forgive myself and let go of the past, truly and completely.

I consider it my calling to support people in doing this deep forgiveness work – it’s very challenging to do it on our own. It’s so much easier to do it with others in community.

Courage to Heal

Sunday, March 1st, 2020

One of the great privileges I have in my ministry is that I get to have 1-on-1 conversations with the brave souls who are in my yearlong Masterful Living Course. I’ve been talking with many of them lately and I am so inspired by their courage.

On the surface, it might not seem as though it takes much bravery to participate in a spiritual class, But anyone on the awakening path knows that there are times every day when we’re given the opportunity to make a loving choice and it doesn’t feel comfortable.

Together, we as a community, make a commitment to relinquish our judgments and opinions, our criticisms and complaints, in order to speak honestly and openly.

We give each other the space to say how we REALLY feel and share what we’re REALLY going through and not put some kind of glossy spiritual spin on it pretending to convince ourselves it’s all good when we don’t really believe it.

We’re choosing to keep it real with each other. And that’s what Love is. We’re practicing our holy relationships, intimate relationships, healing relationships with each other in a safe space without judgment so we can take the training wheels off in our relationships with family, friends, and co-workers.

In order for any of us to actually awaken to our true identity as perfect Love, we have to be willing to bravely look within … and take out the trash! It’s so life-changing when we can stop identifying with the trash thoughts we’ve collected and actually give them to Spirit for healing.

It takes courage to look above the battleground of our stinkin’ thinkin’ and hold a vision of Love for our lives.

One of the things I love so much about A Course in Miracles is that it tells us, “You want to be happy. You want peace. You do not have them now, because your mind is totally undisciplined, and you cannot distinguish between joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain, love and fear. You are now learning how to tell them apart. And great indeed will be your reward. Your decision to see is all that vision requires. What you want is yours. Do not mistake the little effort that is asked of you for an indication that our goal is of little worth.” Lesson 20 I am determined to see.

It’s hard to believe that such a great reward comes from the decision to have a vision, yet the decision is required. I meet so many people who believe, often in secret, that they don’t have what it takes to be happy, successful, loving, and Joy-full. Their secret belief is running their life. They don’t even see that they can decide to have a different life.

Admitting it to ourselves is a big first step. It’s like being addicted to something. The first step in healing is to admit that you are feeling out of control and addicted. Admitting that your thoughts and behaviors are compulsive and you feel unable to stop yourself opens the door to the possibility of healing. Without that willingness to look at the shadow, we can stay stuck for a very long time.

A Course in Miracles tells us that it’s a mind-training system to help us recognize that where there’s a shadow, there’s something in our mind that’s blocking the Light and we can give it to the Higher Holy Spirit Self to do the heavy lifting. But if we won’t admit to ourselves that we’ve got this challenge, will we ever actually be available to the healing? Will we be stuck for lifetimes looking at the darkness instead of the Light?

We know we’re not open to healing when we blame anyone else for how we feel. We are a closed door, like a bank vault hiding a treasure, when we’re blaming and complaining. There’s no healing happening until we’re willing to take responsibility.

Taking responsibility for the way we feel, the mess we made, the things we did and said – 100% responsibility with 0% blame is often an act of bravery so potent that it will literally begin to transform our life onto a path of healing that is miraculous. I see it all the time.

Doing this healing together, side by side, is so much easier and that’s why I love when we can gather in a circle in any way, shape or form. Being the two or more who are gathered gives us the opportunity to realize we’re not the only ones who feel the way we do.

Realizing “I’m not the only one” is one of the major a-ha’s that people have in my classes and on my retreats. They start to realize that many people feel the way they do. And some of them are willing to go first to share, to heal, to change their minds.

There was a long period in my life where I felt helpless and hopeless a lot of the time, but I couldn’t admit it to anyone. I buried it deep because I so firmly believed it was completely impossible to have healing. Fortunately, it felt so awful, I couldn’t take it anymore and I finally decided to stop depending on my own strength to heal and I invoked the Higher Holy Spirit Self to do the heavy lifting. I made the decision to stop punishing myself and go for it.

Now, every day I connect with someone who is feeling deeply challenged and looking to find the courage to not give up and they’re reaching out to me. And almost every day I hear from someone who has found the courage to choose a new thought and they’re having miraculous healing. And we’re all One, all on the same journey.

If you’re like me and you’ve been a hoarder of complaints, opinions, judgments and criticism, along with a collection of resentments and regrets that you’re now ready to get rid of, stop thinking that you have to do it yourself because you really cannot do it that way. Give it to Spirit and be willing to have healing.

Your demonstration of willingness is an act of courage.

There’s no big or small about it. The tiniest bit of willingness is an act of courage.

Just saying “yes” to healing is an act of courage.

Be willing to tell Spirit each day “I AM willing to have a healing” and see what Spirit provides. Have the courage to accept and allow the healing. I’m consistently amazed at the active bravery of spiritual students who are willing to look within, face their perceptions, and release them to be healed!

Whenever you’re feeling upset in any way, it’s your golden opportunity to choose to heal. Have the courage to go for it – be willing to allow a pause before you choose. Your willingness lifts us all. All boats rise on this tide of Love.

Go for it! Let’s all learn HOW to ALLOW our healing.

Joining together for our healing, for the active practice of joining with Spirit and allowing my healing is precisely why every day I write inspiration and record a prayer to go with it. You can join me in cultivating the willingness that raises us ALL up so we can be truly helpful in this world.

Today we say a strong “YES!” to our healing. Even though we don’t know how, we do know we’re willing.

Without Conditions

Saturday, February 29th, 2020

The greatest gift we can offer to anyone is to simply love them without conditions. I remember once a friend of mine said, “I love my brother unconditionally, but if he doesn’t stop … (whatever it was), I don’t want to have anything to do with him.” I get it. Sometimes we drive each other crazy.

That said, what I know is that when we can actively love folks we can truly have healing. It’s easy to get annoyed and frustrated with people. For many, it’s much more challenging to have patience and be kind. And yet, now that I’m living from my heart, it’s so much easier for me to be kind and caring. I feel better when I can extend patience and compassion. Why?

Because it puts me in the flow of Love.

We all know that complaining and criticizing, judging and attacking takes OUT of the flow of Love, but we can actually get back into the flow of Love really fast, but …

… we do have to choose it.

We have to be willing to choose it. Being willing to choose Love is what we’re built for. That’s why it feels so darn good!

When we start complaining we’re getting on the pain train – and that only has one destination – Margaritaville! (Or some other version of self-medication.) The pain train ride never ends up at a new destination, so why take that ride again?

There’s so much of life to enjoy, and the bulk of it is in our relationships with each other, with life and with nature. The more we contract and diminish the flow of Love, the less life there is in our life.

I’ve known many a person that has seemed to shrivel up into themselves because they feel it’s just too hard to keep their heart open.

Let’s face it: We aren’t keeping our hearts open if we’re judging and complaining. Let’s stop telling ourselves that we tried our best when we really didn’t.

Spirit can heal anything and everything because in the Infinite Mind of God, as it says in A Course in Miracles, nothing real can be threatened.

We learn to dissolve fear when we let our judgments go and learn to truly love without conditions.

It’s much easier than trying to love with conditions — which is impossible, by the way.

We can call upon Spirit to heal whatever needs to be healed and get out of the way. Love is the only healer that truly heals back to the root cause so we never experience it again. Let’s put the pedal to the metal and go for it!

We let Love lead us!

Love without conditions IS Freedom!

Who doesn’t wish to have more Freedom?
