Spiritual Phenomenon

Friday, September 18th, 2020

Real change is lasting change. Real change is actually letting go of that which obscures our true identity expressing in this world. Real change is eliminating the false beliefs, habits, mental and emotional patterns that keep us repeating the past.

I’ve always been interested in movies, stories and television shows about exploring. I particularly find it interesting to look at things related to shifting dimensions of time and space. I find that when I’m watching these kinds of stories the Higher Holy Spirit Self inspires me in many ways. All kinds of insights about how to heal my mind come flashing through. It’s cool!

A couple of years ago I was in Germany with several beautiful folks who are in classes with me, we had a talk about spiritual phenomenon. I shared that I’m not interested in phenomenon, which might seem like a complete contradiction about what I said about enjoying entertaining stories about shifting dimensions of time and space.

Allow me to explain further.

I am interested in two things:
Attaining enlightenment, waking up and living as an awakened being, walking in this world as a Bodhisattva, dedicated to living and demonstrating endless compassion
Supporting other people who are interested in waking up.

That’s what’s important to me.

Phenomenon isn’t a part of that journey, although certainly, I experience interesting phenomenon from time to time.

I’ve experienced time speeding up and slowing down. I’ve experienced things disappearing and reappearing. I’ve experienced being invisible. All kinds of things, but it’s only valuable to me if it helps me to awaken and let go of a false identification with a false self.

Real change is when we forgive ourselves for the decisions we made based upon our opinions and judgements from the past. That’s the ONLY thing I know that brings REAL and lasting change.

Self-forgiveness is the one thing that brings permanent healing and change.

And, I see that the most dedicated spiritual students will spend many years studying all kinds of spiritual teachings, trying to memorize the names of archangels, ascended masters, and gathering information, while avoiding actually doing the forgiveness work. And that’s why I stay focused on supporting people actually staying focused on the work that is meaningful and life-changing. It’s so challenging to stay focused, at least it used to be for me. It really was the hardest thing I ever did!

I learned how to stay focused because I made the decision to have a healing. I became determined to not give up and stay focused and still it was challenging for me. This is why creating opportunities for consistent, authentic, non-judgmental support is the focus of my life.

When we forgive ourselves now for the mis-takes of the past, then we unlock the wisdom that was hidden in the events of the past. We cannot unlock the wisdom, the value, the energetic rocket boosters encoded into our past without the self-forgiveness.

Blaming others prevents us from learning.
Defending ourselves is not the best use of our energy and time.
There is nothing to defend.
All attack, is an illusion.
When our heart is open, there can be no attack.

It takes willingness to see that and feel it.

When we forgive ourselves now for the mis-takes of the past, then we unlock the wisdom that was hidden in the events of the past, and with that wisdom now unfolding in our heart, we make different choices now, and that not only changes the present moment, it changes the future.

In this way we are time travelers.
When we forgive, we energetically travel back in time and change the past.
The past shifts.
The past goes from being a burden we carry to being a gift we can share with others, and the light is revealed.

Now is the time, now is the time, now is the time!
Now is the time for us to change our mind and stop dragging the burdens of the past around.

We’re not meant to play small, and that’s why it’s so painful for us.

Aversion to Fear

Friday, September 4th, 2020

I used to have an aversion to people who were anxious and nervous and worried. I felt as though they could possibly transmit their fear to me and that I’d catch it – and I didn’t want it. I would have a strong visceral reaction when people were nervous and scared around me. I really couldn’t stand it.

It had nothing to do with them, and everything to do with me.

I had no compassion, wisdom or understanding for my own fears.

It was my own fears that scared me – and I was triggered by the very slightest hint of another’s fears.

Of course, anyone who’s paying attention can tell who is afraid and who isn’t. The bully seems tough, but deep down, they are FAR more terrified than the person who appears nervous. The person who seems angry and pushy is acting from deep seated fear.

Now, I can see that the feeling of aversion to other people’s worry and fear was that I already had plenty of my own and I didn’t want to take on anymore. To me, feeling afraid was a failure. Back then, I’d rather have experienced many difficulties than let anyone know I felt fear.

Now, I can feel the fear, and hand it over to the Higher Holy Spirit Self and move on.

I’m not afraid of fear anymore.

I feel so grateful that I can ever be of assistance to someone who is feeling afraid or worried. If you meet someone who is anxious, I encourage you to do what you can to support them. Sometimes it’s best to simply pray silently and send a smile.

I remember a decade ago when I was on a silent Vipassana retreat for 10 days, and one of the women in my bunk house (there were 11 of us) was in her late 20’s. We weren’t supposed to look at other people. We were to keep our gaze inward and focused on our own awareness, but it was difficult not to notice this young woman was crying a lot. She was really processing a lot of guilt and shame, or so it seemed to me.

At one point, I looked at her when she was crying, and seeming to be quite miserable with herself, and I simply winked. I winked to let her know, “this too shall pass.” It was a small gesture, but I meant it with a great deal of Love and support. At the end of the ten days of silent meditation, she told me that it had meant a lot to her.

Spirit guides us.
All the time.

We get nudges to say or do something and sometimes it seems out of character or out of step, but I’ve learned to do it anyway.

I’d rather listen to Spirit and be in tune with that voice than listen to the ego and be in lockstep with its endless demands.

What is the intuitive nudge that you’ve been getting that you’re not listening to? Will you be willing to follow your intuition today?

I’m getting ready for my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat in just 2 weeks. Spiritual Victory!

Thursday, September 3rd, 2020

This year has been a focused year of spiritual growth and development for me.  I’ve been offering a lot of extra classes plus the Sunday’s with Spirit.  The more I serve, the happier and more fulfilled I feel.

Happiness is conditional.  And nothing is more happy making than being of service to the light.  It’s a deep kind of happiness that really is more like Joy, which is unconditional.

Joy comes from being in alignment with our own Higher Holy Spirit Self.

Can I tell you how glad and grateful I am that I’m even better at getting out of my own way?  I am beyond grateful any time I can choose Peace instead of needing to be right, more and more and MORE!  I’m not 100% at choosing Peace yet, but I’m getting closer, I can feel it, and I’m so grateful for that!

I feel victorious ANY time that I can choose to be compassionate instead of needing to be right, and work my will!  I celebrate my win!

For me, it’s all about deciding that Peace is more important.

We learn there’s no value to being right all the time.  NO VALUE at all.  There’s extraordinary value in being compassionate.

The more that I love myself, and nurture myself, the more I am inclined to choose Peace instead of conflict.

All conflict in the world comes from thinking we’d like Peace, but then not choosing it.

We say we love our loved ones, but then we’re mean, manipulative, uncaring, or disrespectful.  Then, we feel guilty.  Then we feel bad.  Then we feel angry about feeling bad and guilty because we know we did it to ourselves.  And then we punish them for making us feel this way, which just triggers more guilt, because it’s not about them.  We did it to ourselves.

It’s a cycle of punishment and acting out, and feeling guilty, bad, ashamed, resentful, regretful and on and on.

We interrupt the pattern by choosing Peace.  Peace is our natural state, and we can remember it.  Life is loving us by triggering us so that we’ll get into the habit of choosing Peace and heal all the triggers.

Every trigger is a golden opportunity to choose again and choose Peace.

We can learn to be grateful for the opportunity and in that choice is our healing and the world’s.  BONUS!

Can you share an example of choosing Peace that inspires you in the comments?

I’m getting ready for my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat in just 2 weeks.  If you’d really like to do this healing work of letting go of complaints and the other things that stand in our way of happiness and Peace, consider joining us.  You can change your entire life, your relationships, your experience, your finances, your body, your happiness and peace of mind.   Consider this:

Limitations

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020

In our spiritual waking up journey there are times when it feels like we’re stuck in a quagmire. It can feel like a whirlpool that keeps us in the spin cycle. I’m very familiar with it. This pattern of recycling through the same patterns again and again is familiar to everyone.

What is SO HELPFUL to remember is that we don’t have to figure out how to get out of it in order to break free of it. We just have to be WILLING to get out of it in order to find the way out.

I’m talking about real, demonstrative willingness
-this is more than words.
This is an action and openness of the heart.
There’s quite a difference between a willingness that’s in words only,
and one that comes from our heart.

It’s as if there is a doorway, or a gateway, that’s ALWAYS available to us, but we can’t see it until we’re genuinely willing to surrender the attachment to playing small and living in lack and limitation.

It’s crazy – but I see so many people who don’t have a CLUE that they’re very intentional and deliberate about playing small and letting resistance and reluctance rule their choices.

I used to have this very same issue!

How do we unhook the attachment to playing small and living in lack and limitation? We unhook the cause of it.

That’s right. We unhook the root cause of the mental pattern that keeps you stuck in the spin cycle, in the whirlpool, in the quagmire.

What IS the root cause?

It’s simply these beliefs:

Someone is better than or less than we are.

If you’re a dedicated spiritual student then by now you know, at least on an intellectual level, that there is a unity of all life. If all is one, is it even possible for anyone to be better than or less than you? No. Of course not. That’s a fantasy. We’re one. We’re united.

Does it seem impossible to give up a belief in better than and less than?

If you believe it, then it will appear to be true for you and it will be the cause of your suffering, your sense of lack and limitation.

It’s just a belief and no matter how much you invest in it, it will never be true. No matter how little you invest in it, it will always cause suffering.

Call upon the angelic realm, the ascended masters, the ancestors, call upon the Company of Heaven that are always there to support you if you will allow yourself to be supported. Don’t ask for stuff in the material world. Ask for willingness, ask for the strength to see clearly, to choose Love.

The key is to surrender and be truly willing.

Surrender the heavy lifting of HOW to figure it out to the Higher Holy Spirit Self. Let’s ALLOW our healing. Let’s make ourselves a welcome, ready and receptive place for it.

If we start to wonder how it’s going to happen, we can say to ourselves “How is not my problem. I choose to allow my healing. I don’t have to wonder how, I allow! I choose Love now.

As soon as we are truly, genuinely willing to give up the right to our attack thoughts, the light has come and we’ll begin to see the gateway, the way out of stuckness. It’s there, it’s always there. When we choose to block the light of Love in our awareness by cherishing our thoughts of lack and attack then we cannot see clearly.

Our WILLINGNESS to depend on a higher intelligence than the one that made us miserable, is ALL that is required.

We depend on our spirit, the great I AM. We’re listening and following. We’re obedient to Love’s impulse in our own heart. Love doesn’t need anything. Love is never manipulative or self-serving, ever. Love IS everything. Love doesn’t know lack and neither do we, not really.

The end of lack is when we’re fully willing to stop attacking and simply BE Love. THEN, the power of Love will operate in us and we’ll be able to clearly perceive the way out of the quagmire, we’ll see the gateway through to the other side and have the strength to choose it, and it won’t take much.

Attack thoughts weaken us in ALL ways.
Love strengthens us ALWAYS.

Love yourself first. You can do this:
Make a list of 100 ways to be kind and loving to yourself.
Make a list of 100 ways that you are unkind and unloving to yourself.
Replace the unkind with the kind in your daily choices. Choose Love.
Love strengthens you always.

You don’t have to make yourself stop doing the negative habits – that can be really hard. Instead, replace the unloving with loving and then you’re moving at the speed of light before you know it! Try it! It works!

Light workers around the world are being called to step up and do what they’re designed to do – share the light! Let’s do it together!

Human Tapestry

Monday, August 31st, 2020

Life is rich and beautiful when we’re willing to see it from the long view.

One way to view it is to see that we’re all working on a single tapestry.

It’s a tapestry of human life. Some of us are focused on weaving something exquisitely beautiful and it may look like the life of someone heroic like Harriet Tubman who risked her life and lived her life in service to others.

Another person may be someone who is dedicated only to their own pleasure, needs and wants. It takes all kinds to make this tapestry.

Some people, like many friends of mine, live their life dedicated to undoing the knots woven into the tapestry by their ancestors. It may look as though those knots came from their family and the way they were treated by their relatives. Maybe.

It could be that they were their ancestors in previous generations, reincarnated now, to undo the very nots they tied generations ago. It seems quite likely to me.

I’ve learned for myself, with help from A Course in Miracles, and my own willingness to value the truth. I’ve brought the patterns in with me and those who seem to have contributed to them, have only helped me to bring my attention so that I will get on with the work of untying the knots.

I don’t wish to waste another minute complaining about how things are. It doesn’t help, and in fact it becomes a magnetic attractor for more of the same.

There are no victims, even when it looks like there are victims.

We don’t know what’s really going on.

I’m absolutely certain that some souls volunteer to live a life in service being the challenging child of a person who wishes to learn compassion. This is the way of the Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva is the awakened being who chooses to continue the cycle of reincarnation in service until all are awakened.

I imagine that from the Bodhisattva’s perspective the entire tapestry is beautiful. Maybe it’s a mandala.

I wish to see the tapestry of life from that Bodhisattva perspective and see only the beauty.

When I see something I don’t like, let me not complain and lend it energy. Let me not invest one more drop of my precious life-energy into that which is not untying the knots or refining the beauty.

As the inspired Christian mystic, Howard Thurman, would say, let me “keep fresh before me the moments of my high resolve” so that there is nothing more appealing or attractive to energize in this moment or any other.

The way for me to achieve my goal of being able to see from a clear view is to quit complaining.

Complaining has been such a strong habit for me.

There were times when I thought, and I do really mean this, that it was the purpose of my life.

Now, I can feel clearly that the purpose was to untie the knot of complaining as a habit.

Today, let me untie the knots and bring more beauty with each choice I make.

How do you choose to see the tapestry of life today?

Can you see the knots that it is your life purpose to untie?
If you wish, please share in the comments and I will hold it with you in prayer.

Together we will surely succeed!
Spirit will carry us there since we are so willing!

I Love the Truth!

Friday, August 28th, 2020

I can handle the truth. I find it incredibly valuable.

I LOVE the Truth. I pray for the truth to be revealed every day in every way. The truth is healing and it’s liberating.

To value the truth is to value the very nature of our Creator’s constant and eternal Love which is the ultimate truth of our existence.

In truth all animosity dissolves.

I’m very blessed to be able to have a spiritual teacher who is truthful. Her name is Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo and she is a Cherokee Chief and a Buddhist. Her mind is very vast – meaning she sees way beyond time and space and helps me to see it too. I’m Cherokee by heritage and so I am grateful to connect to that stream of wisdom and learn my ancestor’s ways of spiritual expansion and awakening.

When I first started to spend 1 on 1 time with her it was in service. I would pick her up and drive her to places, sometimes spending many hours in the car with her. As a good and respectful student, I didn’t bend her ear with my questions, and I didn’t make the time together a counseling session. We got to know each other and share about life.

One of the first times that we were going somewhere in the car just the two of us, I told her this:

Please always tell me the truth. If you ever see that I’m not thinking clear or not seeing clearly, feel free to point it out. I consider that the greatest act of Love and kindness. When people see I’m headed in a wrong direction and don’t say anything to me, I realize they are not the best of friends to me.

You cannot hurt my feelings except by withholding your feedback. As a spiritual leader, I depend upon everyone around me to help me be the very most aware, and loving being I can be. I fall down and make errors every day, that’s my learning, I don’t mind that. It’s when people could help me, but they don’t, that I learn not to trust them.

You cannot offend me. Be as direct as you can that will feel like the greatest blessing and the most loving expression you can offer me. Your feedback is always welcome!

I wished to have an honest, transparent and easy relationship with her. I intended to let her know that she could be “real” with me.

After all these years, what I notice is that Venerable is always, ALWAYS teaching me by her example of what she says, and what she DOES NOT say to me and others. That’s why she’s such a good teacher to me.

There are many times I will notice that I share things with people in a subtle way, but they aren’t picking it up. That’s okay. They aren’t open to it yet. No problem. There’s no rush to transform our consciousness.

Being a devotee of truth, I’m interested in honesty and transparency, but still, people don’t have to tell me everything they feel.

Truth is my teacher.

Let truth be the master of my life and my mind.

When I am less than truthful, I feel a little energy shift.
It’s as if there’s a little energetic breeze that hints at what the truth ACTUALLY is.
I make a note.
I self-correct.
It’s a gentle and loving guide that goes with me always.

A commitment to the truth does require a willingness to be honest with yourself.

When we deceive ourselves, others will mirror that back to us.
That’s no fun.
We then decide they’ve betrayed us, but have they?
Or are they helping us to see what’s hidden?

The truth can only help us.
Let’s value the truth and no longer be afraid of it.

This September, something amazing is going to happen and it’s called my Stop Playing Small Retreat – let’s get some real results and unblock the flow of Love in our lives. There’s a whole lot of healing going to happen!

Eliminating Victim Consciousness

Wednesday, August 26th, 2020

Some people are looking to feel hurt. They are actually hoping they’ll get wounded in their connections with people. I’ve been there. I actually have done that. I’ve entered into situations with people anticipating that I’d be disappointed, hurt and that I’d walk away feeling rejected. Many people, just like me, have an attraction to victimhood.

I find it deeply comforting that our true self, our Higher Holy Spirit Self, the Mighty I AM Presence of us cannot be hurt, and cannot be a victim.

I aspire to live in a way that I AM unhurt-able. I get closer every day.

To be unhurt-able not because I’ve put up some kind of wall or shield to protect me, but because I don’t ever take anything personally. Ponder this: we’re one with each other, all completely united and one, can we actually hurt each other, or are we making it up? Are we hurting ourselves? Or are we simply having experiences and choosing to take things as an offense?

What I absolutely know is that the safest emotional place for me to live in this world is with my heart so wide open that I can embrace everything and keep nothing out.

No judgments, no hurts. No expectations, no disappointments. And no victims, either.

It’s the hardening of the heart, the blocking and withholding of Love that causes pain, anger, upset, and hurt. It’s trying to avoid hurt that causes the pain. The pain comes from taking ourselves out of the flow of Love.

Feeling hurt is a choice I don’t intend to make anymore.

I’m interested in eliminating choosing to be hurt and offended, because being hurt is not a good use of my energy and I don’t enjoy it. I am much more interested in liberating from false beliefs and being of service.

I used to be angry much of the time.
Now, I feel peaceful most of the time – and I’m looking forward to the good that I absolutely know is unfolding. I like this so much better than “preparing for the worst.”

And I’m not a victim anymore.

Since I’m the one who decides how I will perceive something, I can take everything as an opportunity to extend Love or receive Love.

To have Love, give all Love to All. It’s simple. It’s not easy, but thank God it’s simple! At least it’s not confusing!

Doesn’t being open hearted and unhurt-able sound great? I’m pretty sure that’s our natural state. After all, we’re light beings. How do you damage light? You can’t. It’s not even possible, so I’ve decided to stop believing it’s possible. Instead, I’m calling forth miracles.

I’m going for it! How about you? Are you willing to open your heart so much that you’d be unhurt-able and give up feeling like a victim? We can do this!

We can rid ourselves of victim consciousness and share the benefits with everyone!

End to Misery

Saturday, August 22nd, 2020

Every day, more than ever, I’m feeling more and more people are going through a really hard time.

Some of them are people I know and Love, but most are people I don’t know, still, I can feel them.

I know you’re probably already doing this, but I feel compelled to remind everyone to reach out to the people who are on the fringes of your life.  Connect with those people you don’t usually call or hang out with, but you have their email or their phone number.  Just see if they’re okay.

Many people are not okay.

I got the nudge to connect with someone I see only occasionally and the message I got back is that they’re miserable.

I used to speak at Agape’s Sunday night service once a month.  I did that for about 10 years.  And what I often saw was quite a few people who had too much time on their own over the weekend.

There are many folks who implode if they have too much time alone.  If you’re one of them, I encourage you to find a way to be of service in your community.  There’s a lot that people need help with now.

Maybe you like to bake, and you could just bake cookies for everyone in the neighborhood.

Maybe you can just determine who among the people you know is having a tough time and let them know you care.

My prayer partners and I have been meeting on the phone each week for about 14 years.  When the pandemic started our 30 minute phone call once a week became a 1 hour zoom.  And now we get together twice a week.  We need the extra connection and we’re enjoying it.  It’s precious to us.

It’s true that some people choose to look at things with so much judgment and negativity that they make themselves miserable, and still, we can have compassion for them, pray and know that there is that within them that can transcend even this desperate misery.

Praying brings benefit to everyone.  I’m so glad you’re praying with me today!  Thank you!

Relax, Don’t Do It

Friday, August 21st, 2020

Do you remember the song “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood? It was very popular in the mid-1980’s and at that time I was working in the music business with Billy Idol’s manager. Every now and then I sing that song – or at least part of the chorus – to the ego and it came up again recently.

When we’re worried about something, we’re making “negative use of our imagination.”

That’s how Ernest Holmes, the founder of Science of mind described it, and I feel it’s a helpful way to think of it.

When we’re holding in our mind the vision of what we do not want to come to pass, we’re actually investing in and energizing a future that we hope won’t happen. If we know the power of our thinking, we will stop that immediately.

In this world, people often invest huge amounts of time and attention into thinking about what they do not want to come to pass.

It’s actually a form of self-sabotage.

I can tell you story after story of people having very painful results from this practice of energizing what they don’t want. Their payoff is that they get to say “I knew it.”

I knew they’d fire me.
I knew they’d leave me.
I knew they’d reject me.
I knew they’d hurt me.
I knew they’d disappoint me.
I knew I’d fail.
I knew I’d make a fool of myself.
I knew it wouldn’t work.

And on and on.

So much suffering can be avoided when we break the habit of worry. It’s yet another habit that feeds into playing small, living in lack and believing in limitation. Ultimately, we’ll stop, and harvest the learning from our experiences, but I can say that people also have the option to stop doing it and to set themselves free.

When the temptation to imagine what you don’t want comes. Stop.

Don’t do it. Relax!

I’m for Freedom! Let’s do it together!

Perceptions Sometimes Aren’t Helpful

Friday, August 7th, 2020

It’s interesting to notice what we notice.
It can be fascinating to view how we view.

In New Jersey they don’t have self-serve gas, the attendant pumps the gas for you. In Maine, at some stations there’s no self-serve and I when I learned about that I realized that I could help contribute to someone having a job by choosing the stations where there’s no self-serve. I might cost a small amount more, but it gives someone a job. Since I don’t particularly enjoy pumping gas, that completely works for me.

I used to return the shopping carts, to the store, but then I realized that there’s no need to return them it’s easier for me not to, and by not returning it, I’m giving a person employment. I can receive the support of not having to return the cart.

In small towns, grocery baggers will sometimes ask if I’d like help taking my groceries to the car, wouldn’t they also like to help by taking the cart and putting it away?

Do you feel guilty if you don’t return the cart where they’d like you to?

What’s interesting is the meaning we make of things.

Our perspective generates our perception, but many times we really don’t know what anything is for.

Once when I was at a Wednesday night service at Agape with a friend. As the collection basket was being passed, my friend saw someone pass the basket without putting anything in it and she turned to me and said, “that bothers me so much, how can they pass the basket without putting anything in it?”

I said to her, “I do that all the time. I write one tithe check per month to make it easier for myself. I’m here at service twice eight times a week or more, but I only write one check. So, I don’t put anything in the collection most of the time.”

My friend was taken aback. After a moment she said, “I never thought about that. That makes sense.”

Whenever we judge, we’re taking ourselves out of the flow of Love and we’re usually creating some kind of personal, emotional and mental distress.

If we don’t correct our thoughts, then we start feel the upset in our physical body. Our life is so much easier if we simply focus on being loving.

We’re designed to be peaceful, harmonious and prosperous and our misperceptions trigger a feeling of upset so we can realize that it’s time to course correct.

It’s a great system to remind us that Love is our true identity and Peace is our natural state. Let’s remember what’s real.

What perception is operating in your mind, triggering guilt? Please share in the comments and help us realize where we can all make a change! Thank you in advance!

Our Gifts and Talents

Thursday, August 6th, 2020

If you don’t use your gifts and talents you might not actually lose them – but you will definitely be missing extraordinary opportunities to be an authentic, inspiring and healing presence in the world.

One of the most satisfying things I’ve ever experienced in this world is when I’m sharing my natural gifts and talents in ways that are uplifting and inspiring for others.

I have a gift for sharing.  I’ve taken my natural talent and honed it with skill.

When I get to teach a class, lead a retreat, or a Spiritual Counseling Training Intensive, it feels like the sweetest spot to me.  I don’t feel as though the truths that I share are mine, or that I in anyway the author of them.  They are available to everyone and I’m interested in sharing them.  I love, love, LOVE sharing these spiritual principles.

We all have an interesting and unique relationship to our possessions, including our gifts and talents.

In THE PATHWAY OF ROSES, the great mystic, Christian D. Larson wrote,

“Every individual is entitled to all the riches of the spiritual kingdom, and in addition, to the possession of as many things … as he can possibly appreciate and use in the enrichment of all the realms of his own entire existence. But before he can secure all these things, he must cause his personal nature and his spiritual nature to live together as one … the first essential is to make the best use possible of everything that we may possess now.”

What Larson describes there, is what I feel I experience when I’m sharing spiritual truths.

Today let’s be willing to use what we have, and share it.  So many people want more, but they don’t appreciate and make use of what they have.

Let’s be willing to look at ourselves from a Divine perspective.  Would we be willing to give to someone more riches and rewards if they didn’t appreciate and make use of the ones we had already given them?  Wouldn’t that be a waste?

It’s worth asking, “what God given gifts and talents have I got that I’m hoarding?”

You can get real with yourself and get ready to rock.

Now is the time of our liberation!  Let’s go!

Flowing With Spirit

Monday, July 20th, 2020

Yesterday, in our Sundays With Spirit service, in the healing meditation I was sharing about trusting Spirit and using the metaphor of God’s Love as a river that flows. We can flow with the river or we can fight it.

We can cling to the rocks and buffeted about or we can trust the river and go for the ride.

Then, I remembered that someone had recently reminded me of this passage from Illusions by Richard Bach:

Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river. The current of the river swept silently over them all — young and old, rich and poor, good and evil — the current going its own way, knowing only its own crystal self.

Each creature in its own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current was what each had learned from birth.

But one creature said at last, “I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going.

I shall let go, and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.”

The other creatures laughed and said, “Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed against the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!”

But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks.

Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more.

And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried, “See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the messiah, come to save us all!”

And the one carried in the current said, “I am no more Messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure.

But they cried the more, “Savior!” all the while clinging to the rocks, and when they looked again, he was gone, and they were left alone making legends of a savior.

The question is now, what rock are we clinging to?
Who are you looking to as our savior?

For myself, I’m letting go of rocks every day.

I feel it’s a big portion of my responsibility to choose Freedom.

Every choice I make for Freedom lifts us all and I know that. I don’t wish to be a bottom feeder or a rock clinger. I am interested in flowing in the river of Love. I don’t wish to drown there; I wish to flourish and thrive and demonstrate Spirit’s infinite Love and protection – how about you?
