Breathing and Healing

Thursday, October 15th, 2020

What I’ve really come to love about the spiritual approach to life is that every day, every hour every moment can be a part of our spiritual practice.  I used to feel this was a burden.  I couldn’t bring myself to pay attention ALL of the time – that was too much to ask of myself.  It felt so burdensome.

The burden was in the judgments I had against myself, not in the actual practices.  By releasing more and more judgments, I was able to make my spiritual practice more and more easeful and graceful and that has blessed my whole life.  Now, I can be grateful for each opportunity I can find to turn whatever I’m doing into spiritual practice.

One very beneficial way we can increase our vitality is through breathing consciously.

This is one of the things that my kundalini yoga practice has taught me.  If I sense myself getting tense, I turn to deep breathing.  This is something anyone who has the ability can do without cost at anytime.

Here are the benefits of long, deep breathing:

  • Long deep breathing relaxes and calms you due to its influence on the parasympathetic nervous system.
  • Increases the flow of prana.
  • Reduces and prevents the build-up of toxins in the lungs by encouraging the clearing of the small air sacs (alveoli).
  • Stimulates the brain chemicals (endorphins) that help fight depression.
  • Brings the brain to a new level of alertness.
  • Pumps the spinal fluid to the brain, giving greater energy.
  • Stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete, thus enhancing the intuition.
  • Filling the lungs to capacity revitalizes and re-adjusts the magnetic field.
  • Cleanses the blood.
  • Regulates the body’s pH balance which affects the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Energizes and increases vitality.
  • Aids in releasing blockages in meridian energy flow.
  • Activates and clears the nerve channels.
  • Aids in speeding up emotional and physical healing.
  • Aids in breaking subconscious habit patterns such as insecurities and fears.
  • Aids in fighting addictions.
  • Re-channels previous mental conditioning on pain so as to reduce or eliminate pain.
  • Gives the capacity to manage negativity and emotions, supporting clarity, coolheadedness, and patience.

That’s a LOT of benefits!!!

There are some healing techniques that you can use and you can read about them here.    You can also join my 40 Day Meditation Challenge – it’s a simple practice that many are finding so very helpful.  It’s free to join us Click here now to learn more.

I urge you to become a “breath expert.”

One thing I do almost every day is to practice long deep breathing white light meditation lying down in bed first thing in the morning.  I usually wake, go to the restroom, wash out my mouth (I use a tongue scraper) and go back and lie down for about 10 to 20 minutes of deep breathing while lying down using an abdominal breath.

Breathing slowly and deeply I start by fully exhaling. Be sure to exhale fully and get that old stale air out, bring in that fresh new air.  It’s even better if you can step outside for a couple of minutes and do the long deep breathing.

Inhale filling first the belly, then expanding the chest, and lastly lifting the upper ribs and clavicle. The exhale is the reverse: first the upper deflates, then the middle, and finally the abdomen pulls in and up to fully exhale, as the belly pulls back toward the spine.

While I’m practicing this deep breathing, I’m visualizing myself filled and surrounded with golden white Light and I make I AM statements of positive affirmation.

“I AM the purity of Love.”  Is a favorite.  “I AM the light of the world.”  “I am an eternal being of infinite Love.”  You can find the ones that resonate most for you.

It’s a simple practice that starts each day with Self-Love and self-care and all those benefits in the list above!! WOWZER!

Some people cannot breathe deeply.  I’ve had friends who had major issues with their lungs and breathing deeply is not something they can easily do.  We can consciously send love and light to anyone having difficulty breathing while we’re breathing deeply and that becomes an added bonus in our spiritual practice.  We don’t have to think of anyone in particular.  Let all beings find ease and grace in their breath.

Have you practiced long deep breathing and know the benefits?  Are you participating in the 40 Day Meditation Challenge?  Please tell us about it and share in the comments below!  Let’s join together for our healing and inspire each other!  Thank you!

I’m Choosing Heaven Today

Monday, October 5th, 2020

Yesterday it came up in several conversations that people I know people who are very angry and upset with the President. That’s not surprising. I get it. And …

And, we’re still one with him. If one is lifted, all are lifted. Let’s lift our brother up in our consciousness.

The greatest gift anyone can receive in this world is to awaken and know the Christ in our own awareness. How can I desire that for myself, but not wish it for my brother, when we are joined in Christ?

I pray for the highest and best for all of us, because the highest and best for any one of us IS, ABSOLUTELY the highest and best for all of us. We’re united, how can something bless one person, truly bless them, and not bless everyone. I can’t see the possibility of that.

I hold for both my brother and myself, that we are rising up in our awareness, liberating from the belief in separation and I cannot go that way unless I bring my brother with me. He is my salvation. Let me not look elsewhere.

Yes, sometimes people’s choices sadden me or rather, my thoughts about them sadden me, and sometimes I get irritated or frustrated, or even angry, but still, I cannot choose heaven only for myself.

I wouldn’t want the heaven that excludes my brother.
It couldn’t be heaven.

It would be only some country club illusion of heaven that is not worth even thinking about.

All healing is at the level of the mind.

The habits of fear, and separation are at the level of the mind.

Willingness IS required.
It’s the willingness to choose Love beyond our personal preferences for how we’d like the world to be.

Love is not Love if it has conditions. That’s the healing power of Love.

Healing the habits of fear isn’t easy, but it’s FAR EASIER than living in fear. But you wouldn’t know that if you’ve always lived in fear.

That’s why I’m offering you this class as a gift. My gift to you. Come and join me. Today.
7 simple steps to interrupt the patterns of fear.

We’ll go deeper into the practical tips and tools that worked for me, so you can interrupt those patterns of fear and attack and make new choices, creating new habits that support the life you desire.

It might seem impossible, but I’ve done it and helped many people learn to do this too.

Here’s the good news:
“No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth.”
That’s Lesson 131 in A Course in Miracles

You cannot fail if you’re sincerely willing to live a loving life
– you don’t have to be there already.
– start where you are.

All your previous failures are just evidence of your lack of sincerity.
Don’t be fooled by appearances.
If you’re sincerely willing to live without fear, you cannot fail.
It’s the Truth.
Now, will you prove it?
Once you prove it to yourself, there’s no going back!

If you’re coping with fear and you’d like to change that,
please register for my free class today.

Playing Games

Friday, October 2nd, 2020

Last Thanksgiving, I had the pleasure to spend several weeks in Scottsdale, AZ near my BFF, and longtime prayer partner Karen Russo. My friend Chere came from NYC, and my friends Janice and Mike came from a few hours away and we had a lovely time playing games and celebrating my birthday.

One time, playing a board game, Karen said, “I think Jennifer needs to count her points, she may be close to winning.”

I knew that I had already won a while ago, but I didn’t wish to stop playing and I didn’t care that I’d won.

It was the journey not the destination.

One of the things I’ve talked about lately in my podcast is winning and losing. I love to play board games and card games. It’s something many of my family have in common with me. I remember loving to play Monopoly when I was pretty young.

I also remember just how competitive I used to feel and how it was an intense emotional experience. I used to get really upset if I made a “bad” move, or if I missed an opportunity. I’d get really upset about the game if I didn’t play well.

What I love now is being able to enjoy myself just as much regardless of who wins or who loses.

It really is the joy of playing that matters.

I love being able to have time with my loved ones and to be playful. I enjoy the strategy. Sometimes I win the game and sometimes I lose. I don’t have a better time when I’m winning. I never would have imagined that was possible before.

In my classes, folks sometimes share about the pain and suffering they experience when they compare themselves to others.

We say, “compare and despair.”

There’s no point in comparing. None. It always leads to a sense of lack and limitation and hence the despair.

There are so many mental habits that folks have that agitate their mind, and cause distress – and they can be eliminated MUCH more easily than we might imagine.

Comparison is a trick of the ego to help you feel more separate. It always leads to suffering. It doesn’t matter if you compare and think you’ve come out ahead or you’re lacking – since there’s only one, either way you just feel more separate.

My invitation is to look at the habit of comparing and despairing and to simply give it over to the Higher Holy Spirit Self to do the heavy lifting.

Life is a lot more fun without comparisons – they’re completely unnecessary and unhelpful most of the time. Give it up! Instead, celebrate what we have in common – for all of us, our true nature is perfect Love. Let’s celebrate what unites us and feel the unity!

Debates

Wednesday, September 30th, 2020

Last night I was texting with friends about the Presidential debate. I had decided not to watch it – I don’t have a TV anyway, but I could have watched it live-streamed on the web if I’d wished to.

I decided not to watch because when I checked in with my body, my body was repulsed. I literally felt queasy at the thought of watching. That was a solar plexus, third chakra reaction.

This tummy response tells me that my ego would have gotten threatened had I listened to the debate and it’s better for me not to. I can know the highest and best for everyone more easily if I don’t watch the experience of “attack and defend” live.

My friends who watched live were texting me that they were upset by how it was going. My response was to remember that the Christ is within each one of us. We’re one with each other.

Let’s know the truth in order to be at Peace.

People ask me all the time about what Self-Love really is. Self-Love is me not putting myself in a situation where my judgments will get the better of me.

For me, retaining my equanimity is far more important than most other kinds of experiences.

I’ve learned that it’s important for me to check in and “fact check” my own sensory system for where I might be prejudiced by false beliefs and misperceptions.

Stoking the fire of my judgments will only hamper me and my desire for world Peace.

I truly desire world Peace.

My life is dedicated to it. I’m willing to work at the level of the mind to be fully responsible for the world I see and for the healing of it. It’s taken me a lot of work to get to this place and I intend to maintain it.

If you’d like to have a major increase in your connection with Spirit and feeling PEACE of mind, you might like my  Finding Freedom From Fear, spiritual bootcamp class with ACIM principles.  Join me and you will be able to close out this year feeling like you had one of the best years ever! Meditation for Peace

Saturday, September 26th, 2020

All healing is at the level of the mind, this is the teaching of A Course in Miracles. It’s such a wonderful truth for us to really know.   I find it liberating because I already know all I need to about how impossible it is to attain my happiness through changing the things of this world.

It’s much, MUCH easier to be able to focus on my mind.

I didn’t always feel that way.  I used to think my mind was impossible, but if I just worked hard enough, I could control my world.  Ha ha ha!

We can work with out mind in many ways – and that’s really cool!

One way that I found was through meditation.

Another way that I learned to work with my mind and my nervous system too, was through the practice of yoga.

I’ve fallen in LOVE with Kundalini Yoga because it’s a strong spiritual practice of working with the mind, and using the body to help with that.

Kundalini practices teach us to focus on the mind in working with the body and it’s been such a wonderful healing journey for me – as I’ve been studying Kundalini Yoga for several years now, and participating as a student in classes for more than 25 years.

I’ve seen such wonderful results, that I must share.  Please join me.

If you’d like to activate more healing, I’m inviting you to join me and others in a 40 Day Kirtan Kriya Meditation Challenge. Let’s make it fun together!

There’s no cost to join the challenge – this is just a gift from the Power of Love Ministry to you.

Click here to learn more about the Kirtan Kriya 40 Day Challenge!

It’s my joy to share this spiritual practice that supports us in so many ways.

Peace No Matter What

Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

Many, MANY times I’ve had counseling clients or folks in my classes tell me that someone in their life has really difficult energy to be around and it brings them down to be with them.  I used to feel the same way about some of the people in my life.

What I’ve learned over the years is that it was never those people’s energy that was my challenge.  The real challenge was my thoughts about those people.

It turns out that my judgments about the people were what brought my energy down.

Now, while I do occasionally experience some people as challenging, or less enjoyable to be around – they don’t bring my energy down because I can hold them in the light no matter how they behave.

This is the gift of Peace that I’ve given myself and can share with others.

Consider someone that seems to bother you.  Now, consider this a challenge from me to you – next time you’re with them, be super mindful of holding them in the Light of Love rather than judging them and see if they still bring you down.

This is something that you can practice and rehearse.

In your mind’s eye, imagine being able to hold the peaceful mind no matter what.

Be determined.

This is a mind training.

This is how you get your mind in shape.

Folks who seem to challenge us are actually helping us to be more loving.

Let’s take the challenge and hold it with ease and grace.

Let’s be peacekeepers!

Are you willing?

I’m getting ready for my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat in just 2 weeks.  If you’d really like to do this healing work of letting go of complaints and the other things that stand in our way of happiness and Peace, consider joining us.  You can change your entire life, your relationships, your experience, your finances, your body, your happiness and peace of mind.   Consider this:

You will never regret your choice, and you’ll only be so glad you did – at least that’s what I hear from the people who have done it.

Get going. Take action. Be aggressive about working with your mind. DO NOT DELAY. If you’re waiting, if you’re not getting the results you’d like, what are you waiting for?

Don’t take my word for it, read the testimonials from those who have done this work with me. They believed that nothing would work for them, and they were willing to do something different anyway. Now, they’re not playing small anymore. They’re not letting fear dictate their life. They have a real and powerful connection with Spirit.

If you’re ready to make a change, and you’d like some REAL support to make a LASTING change, TAKE ACTION! If you’re interested in either my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat or Finding Freedom From Fear Online Spiritual Bootcamp, but you aren’t sure if either is right for you right now, book an Exploratory Call with one of the spiritual counselors. The call is free and you’ll find benefit in addition to getting all your questions answered. Click here now to book an Exploratory Call with a Spiritual Counselor.

Eliminating Victim Consciousness

Wednesday, August 26th, 2020

Some people are looking to feel hurt. They are actually hoping they’ll get wounded in their connections with people. I’ve been there. I actually have done that. I’ve entered into situations with people anticipating that I’d be disappointed, hurt and that I’d walk away feeling rejected. Many people, just like me, have an attraction to victimhood.

I find it deeply comforting that our true self, our Higher Holy Spirit Self, the Mighty I AM Presence of us cannot be hurt, and cannot be a victim.

I aspire to live in a way that I AM unhurt-able. I get closer every day.

To be unhurt-able not because I’ve put up some kind of wall or shield to protect me, but because I don’t ever take anything personally. Ponder this: we’re one with each other, all completely united and one, can we actually hurt each other, or are we making it up? Are we hurting ourselves? Or are we simply having experiences and choosing to take things as an offense?

What I absolutely know is that the safest emotional place for me to live in this world is with my heart so wide open that I can embrace everything and keep nothing out.

No judgments, no hurts. No expectations, no disappointments. And no victims, either.

It’s the hardening of the heart, the blocking and withholding of Love that causes pain, anger, upset, and hurt. It’s trying to avoid hurt that causes the pain. The pain comes from taking ourselves out of the flow of Love.

Feeling hurt is a choice I don’t intend to make anymore.

I’m interested in eliminating choosing to be hurt and offended, because being hurt is not a good use of my energy and I don’t enjoy it. I am much more interested in liberating from false beliefs and being of service.

I used to be angry much of the time.
Now, I feel peaceful most of the time – and I’m looking forward to the good that I absolutely know is unfolding. I like this so much better than “preparing for the worst.”

And I’m not a victim anymore.

Since I’m the one who decides how I will perceive something, I can take everything as an opportunity to extend Love or receive Love.

To have Love, give all Love to All. It’s simple. It’s not easy, but thank God it’s simple! At least it’s not confusing!

Doesn’t being open hearted and unhurt-able sound great? I’m pretty sure that’s our natural state. After all, we’re light beings. How do you damage light? You can’t. It’s not even possible, so I’ve decided to stop believing it’s possible. Instead, I’m calling forth miracles.

I’m going for it! How about you? Are you willing to open your heart so much that you’d be unhurt-able and give up feeling like a victim? We can do this!

We can rid ourselves of victim consciousness and share the benefits with everyone!

TAKE ACTION!

Clarity

Wednesday, July 8th, 2020

Have you ever argued with God? I have.

Sometimes the need to be right is so strong. Whenever that happens, I know I’m wrong. And I know I need to let it go.

I used to get so confused by my own need to be right, to argue for my position, all the while noticing that I wasn’t making myself happy. Oh, the good ole days!

One of the issues was that I was taking my own counsel.
I was looking to myself for advice and that wasn’t going so well.

I thought I had the ability to discern what was what, but I didn’t.
Eventually, I learned to go to Spirit for the answers I needed.
Spirit already knows the answer to every question that we could have.

Our Spirit, which is part of the Spirit– part of God— Spirit, our Spirit, THE Spirit, is not bound by time and space. Spirit doesn’t have blocks to awareness of everything in time and space, to every causation of every single thing in this world, from a slight cough to the most complex disease, to poverty. Every single cause and cure are known in the Mind of God. There’s no confusion whatsoever.

But we, in our holding onto the decisions that we’ve made about the past, are holding onto the blocks to Love which prevent us from seeing, knowing, feeling, and hearing clearly what the truth is. The antidote to those blocks, the removal of those blocks, is completely, 100%, dependent upon our willingness to experience the Clarity rather than the confusion.

In order to experience the Clarity rather than the confusion, we must make a new decision. A new decision.

The way our experience works in this human realm is, we make decisions about life, and what we think life means – we give it all the meaning that it has for us.

We make decisions like “I’m not good enough.” We make decisions like “Dogs are not safe.” Or, “People are not safe.” Or, “Women are not safe.” Or, “Men are not safe.”

We make all kinds of decisions based on our experience, and then those become the blocks to Love, because they’re not true.

They are a projection. They are perception. They are beliefs that are the effects of the decisions we made.

For example, let’s say that someone in our childhood is very unloving to us, and so we form the belief we’re unlovable. I’ve worked with many people, as a Spiritual Counselor, who were cruelly treated as children.

Many times, those people come to believe their care givers, are treating them this way because there’s something horribly wrong with them. They think, it must be them. They deserve it.

This is often what happens with children. My mother used to work in childhood services, and she would see things like a child who has been burned with a cigarette, and violently attacked in the home.

The children are taken away to child services, and many times all that child wants is to get back to that very same caregiver, that parent, or whoever it is, who was hurting them.

We interpret things incorrectly and then make decisions based on our interpretations.

And this places blocks in the mind. Like veils in the mind, that become a distortion of reality.

In order to heal this, we can use prayer. Because there’s not one person on this planet– I’m absolutely convinced of this, there’s not one person on this planet that makes a prayer, or offers a prayer request, that does not have a small amount of willingness to have healing.

Why would we write out a prayer request and put it in a prayer box if you had no willingness to receive the healing and the transformation? Why would we ask for prayer, why would we make a prayer, unless we had the tiniest little bit of willingness to receive the answered prayer?

Prayer is POWERFUL! Let’s pray all throughout our day. Let’s pray to let go of all the decisions we’ve made that are predicated upon a false conclusion. We can even pray for greater willingness!

Acceptance Is The Way

Wednesday, May 27th, 2020

Acceptance is the way to Peace of mind – and it’s not for the weak-hearted.

It takes real strength to mentally and emotionally accept the things we don’t like in life.

It can seem that to accept what feels unacceptable would be a loss.

From the ego perspective, it would be a loss, and it would be painful.

Lesson 190 from the workbook of A Course in Miracles tells us “Pain is a wrong perspective.”  Why would we find it more acceptable to choose a painful perspective than to accept the truth?

It’s interesting to look at this and valuable to know the answer.

Consider something you’re looking at in your life that causes you pain when you think about it.

Now, consider that it’s the wrong perspective that is causing our pain.

Are we willing to adopt a God perspective?

Will we continue to think we’re right when it upsets us?

Now, think of something you don’t like, and don’t want in your life. Something you’d dearly like to change and that you label as unacceptable as it is.  It makes you mad.  It devastates you.

It could be a person’s death.

It could be a politicians policies.

It could be a mis-take you made or something someone did or didn’t do.

For your Freedom – contemplate what is the meaning that you gave it.

If it’s upsetting you, the meaning you’ve given it is false.

Contemplate why you would choose to feel devastated, hurt, angry, upset in anyway.

What is it about that emotional state that you keep choosing?

See what you learn.  Then remember this:

I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt.

Loss is not loss when properly perceived.  Pain is impossible.  There is no grief with any cause at all.  And suffering of any kind is nothing but a dream.  This is the truth, at first to be but said and then repeated many times; and next to be accepted as but partly true, with many reservations.  Then to be considered seriously more and more, and finally accepted as the truth.  I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt.  And I would go beyond these words today, and past all reservations, and arrive at full acceptance of the truth in them.  ACIM Workbook Lesson 284

To be free of pain, our willingness is all that’s required.

Can we hold grievances and still be willing?

I don’t think so.  Let’s not delude ourselves anymore.

My Stop Playing Small Retreat was going to be in UK next month, but now it’s being offered online, so all can join.  This online retreat is for folks who are frustrated with feeling stuck and fearful.  It’s designed for those who’d like to bring on a breakthrough so they can move forward with confidence toward their heart’s desire in any area of their life.  Click here for details.  If you’re ready to release resistance and reluctance, you’ll feel the call.  Trust your intuition!

Spirit of Ego?

Wednesday, October 16th, 2019

So many times I’ve had the experience of getting an idea to do something and not knowing if it was ego or intuition. I’d struggle with it. Ultimately, it would come down to me choosing what I wanted most. That wasn’t always a good thing.

I’m often asked – “How can I tell if it’s ego or intuition?” We’d like to know so we can choose correctly – or so it seems. What I’ve witnessed and learned from is that many people say they’d like to have greater intuition, but they’ll reject the guidance if it doesn’t match their plan.

Yes, as long as we’re IDENTIFIED with the ego-personality, the separate selfish self, then we’ll be confused about whether or not what we think is guidance from Spirit really is guidance.

It’s painful not knowing. It’s intensely challenging sometimes.

What helps is if we’re willing to really follow Spirit’s guidance.

It also helps if we’re doing lots of forgiveness and we’re dropping our judgments because that allows us to hear, feel, see, and know more clearly what’s really going on. Our false beliefs, opinions, resentments, blame, and shame cloud our view.

Intuition is a still, small Voice that is so distinct,
it can be heard over the cacophony of the ego
because it’s a higher vibration,
not because it’s louder.
Be willing to listen and you shall hear.

Intuition is without judgment – that’s what gives it the smallness.

Intuition is pure Love – that’s what gives it the stillness.

Have you ever been able to recognize the still small “Voice” through the intensity of ego insanity? Have you been able to follow it? Did it bring you miracles? Please share in the comments section below! I’d love to know!

Midnight Meditation

Friday, September 6th, 2019

The last few of days I’ve had so much work to do, plus a long travel day, that I’ve been going to bed at 2 and 2:30 a.m. It is what it is, and although it’s unusual and not my preference, sometimes that’s what feels necessary to get things done. All of the last few days have been very light on time to just relax and rest, or even just have a real lunch break.

I am grateful, SO GRATEFUL to be living my absolute dream career, answering my calling and working with the most wonderful people in the world. I’m so very blessed!

And with all the extra work, travel, etc., I maintain my spiritual practice of prayer and meditation. I was sharing in Masterful Living class yesterday that about 12:30 a.m. the night before I realized, “Oh! I still have my hour (or so) of spiritual practice to do!” So there I was, beginning my meditation at 1:30 a.m. and as I sat there, I had a big sweet smile on my face. The vibration was so sweet.

The Earth was so still, listening to crickets, everything was calm and the energy of the meditation was so restorative – much better than sleep. I loved it!

What I’ve learned is that meditation always improves my life.

It’s the thing I make a priority ,and it always feels like the BEST investment of my time and energy. I don’t ever feel that I’ve made the wrong decision when I invest in my healing.

I am so grateful for Jesus’ reminder in A Course in Miracles that “Rest comes from waking, not from sleeping.” When I’m this busy, there’s a temptation to wish to skip Self-care, and spiritual practice – of course, there is – but I’ve learned that is the way of the ego and not the way of Spirit, and I’m not interested in the way of the ego anymore.

I encourage you to have a spiritual practice that revives and restores you every day. Not one thing on this Earth will bring more benefit to those who suffer. Not one thing in life will bring more Joy than the Joy of knowing we are One with the Infinite. We are worth of the great Love that is our true identity!

The more we dedicate ourselves to Self-Love, Self-care and spiritual practice as the foundation of that, the more quickly we’ll have world Peace, and that’s a fact!

Blissed Out

Saturday, July 20th, 2019

In case you don’t know, it was the brilliant Joseph Campbell who first coined the phrase “Follow your bliss.” Bliss is a strong and fun word, and it’s for that reason that this phrase became so inspiring to so many. In my experience, when I follow my passion (my bliss), I am supported. Spirit doesn’t know how to fail and, when I follow my intuition I feel successful!

Recently I saw a bumper sticker that said: “Don’t follow me, I’m following my bliss.” I thought that was so interesting. From my perspective, I’d like everyone to “follow” me BECAUSE I’m following my passion and my guidance. I’d like to join with others who are inspired to share the path with me. I don’t need them to follow me, I prefer to walk together and share.

If you feel afraid to follow your passion because you fear failure, then please know this: if you’re making choices because you feel inspired, you’ll succeed.

Follow Spirit and you WILL succeed. Spirit doesn’t know how to fail.

A key to success is to not NEED anyone’s validation or approval.

A key to success is to share what you’re passionate about without any kind of judgment that other people need it or SHOULD have it.

A key to success is that you’d do it anyway, even if no one paid you.

For many years I did workshops for small groups of people. I did counseling sessions for love offerings and donations. I still give away many classes and other things completely for free. I LOVE when Spirit gives me a new idea of things to share and give away for free.

If I don’t follow my guidance, I can’t have Peace. It’s the only way.

Following your passion and your bliss is so inspiring and fulfilling, and we can all find a way to say YES to that journey. We can start where we are. We are worthy of our own happiness.

If there’s a passion that’s calling you and you’ve been avoiding it because you feel it’s too complex or demanding, I encourage you to be willing to let Spirit guide you and ALLOW it to unfold.

We don’t have to figure out how, we can learn to ALLOW. When we’re willing to allow, Spirit tells us how. When we allow, inspiration flows! Go for it!

Right & Wrong

Thursday, June 13th, 2019

One of the big traps of the ego is deciding who is right and who is wrong. Often, we find that we’re the biggest culprits of them all. The ego has the mindset of separation. It’s job is to separate, and it does that through the activity of sorting.

Sorting out who is right and who is wrong is a major use of ego, time and energy.

We can spend huge amounts of our precious attention on determining who is right and who is wrong. And, for a moment, the ego seems to feel fulfilled, empowered, justified, and important.

Observing life, you can watch people all day long as they struggle to figure out who is right and who is wrong, to assign blame (and often shame) as well as responsibility. It gives the ego a lot to do.

What many of us don’t notice is that all that judge, judge, judging leaves an energetic hangover that is painful. The pain then leads us to tune out, disconnect, and hide. And then we slowly begin to learn what a bad investment we made with our precious attention. Labeling people isn’t helpful.

And then, sometimes, we just want to tune out.

Since Love is all there is, aren’t we tuning out from Love?
Since Spirit is omnipresent Love, aren’t we disconnecting from Love?
Since the Infinite One Mind is omni-active are we really thinking we can hide from our own mind?

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. Psalm 139

Deciding who is right and wrong is predicated on the concept that I am the decider. When I’m the decider, it often means that I’m thinking that God has left the building and now I’m in charge. I’ve learned that I do NOT want to be in charge. I’m not (yet) able to see through all directions of time and space, and so I’m not able to discern what everything is for. My Spirit knows it’s all working together for my relentless good.

I do not wish to replace the Higher Intelligence in my mind – I tried that, and it didn’t go well for me. I’d like to do everything I can to avoid falling back into that mindset. I’ve worked very hard to realize that God’s Plan is the best way for me to go.

The Higher Holy Spirit Self’s plan doesn’t include my judging people and deciding who is good and bad. I can think I know what’s right and wrong in the moment. I look for the loving choices, and that feels right to me. Unloving choices feel wrong to me.

People, are all good at their core. Their essence is still perfect and pristine, regardless of their behavior. Knowing that, I don’t need to label people with some story I’ve made up. I’ll stick to focusing my attention on remembering the truth, which is that we’re all good and perfect.

I hardly use the words “right” and “wrong” anymore. Mostly their helpful in describing how things feel. Paying attention to how things feel is a great skill that I work on each day. Labeling people isn’t helpful to me, only to the ego. I don’t work for the ego anymore.

Is there anyone you’ve labeled wrong that you could let go? You can still feel their actions are unloving, but do you need to label the person? This is a very powerful and healing contemplation. We can call the angels in to help us and be willing to see clearly the Face of God in each one we meet, for our own Peace of mind. It works! Peace is worth it!

TODAY is my Sacred Circle day and I LOVE it! This is my monthly membership program that gives you a weekly call of group spiritual counseling with me. Leaving Hatred Behind

Thursday, June 6th, 2019

I used to find that when I got annoyed with some inanimate object that wasn’t doing what I wished it to do, that I’d tell it, “I hate you.”  I’d say “I hate you” to the drawer that wouldn’t close properly or the jar that wouldn’t open.  It was a kind of automatic response.

At first, the “I hate you’s” were hidden.  I’d just feel annoyed, or frustrated or angry, but then as I became more and more aware of my thoughts, I realized that I was thinking the thought “I hate you.” The more loving I became, the more the “I hate you’s” became obvious.  What did I do shift it?

As soon as I’d “hear” myself say “I hate you,” I’d pause and take a breath.  Then, waking up from sleepwalking and dropping into my heart, I’d say, “No, I don’t hate you.  There’s no hatred here, only Peace and Love.”  I found that it was essential to my well being not to allow the upset to go unchecked.  I learned how valuable it is to shift it right away and to correct the error in my thinking.

Now, when the jar won’t open or the drawer doesn’t close I say, “I Love you.”

It might seem strange to say “I hate you” or “I Love you” to an inanimate object, but what I’m really doing is saying it to all of life.  I’m saying it to my own mind.

Since there’s only one life, one Presence, one Spirit, if I say “I hate you,” in a very real sense, I’m saying it to everyone and everything.  I’ve come to see that all hatred is self-hatred, because there’s only One.

I have found that these seemingly small changes make a big difference in my life. It’s really worth paying attention to every thought we think.  Our mind is the Mind of God, and the Mind of God never sleeps.  It’s always responding and creating our experience, our feelings, our life.  The ONLY way to change our lives is to change our thinking.

At first, it seemed like such a burden to monitor my thoughts, but now I’m so clear that it’s a release and a relief.  Every day I’m taking out more of the trash and giving it to the Higher Holy Spirit Self.  Every day there’s more Clarity and more Freedom.  It’s worth the effort to do the clearing.  I’m so grateful that I saw the value of being committed to making little changes every day.

Let all hatred be healed back to the root cause.  Yes!

The Guiltless Mind Does Not Suffer

Wednesday, June 5th, 2019

One reason children are so light and happy is that they don’t feel guilty – yet. Many people use the threat of guilt as a motivator.  Some use guilt to keep them playing small and avoid taking risks.  I’ve certainly been guilty of both!

I’ve talked with many people who don’t fully enjoy their life because they feel it would be selfish and they’d feel guilty.  Many people even feel guilty just for taking care of themselves – as though good Self-care somehow is putting themselves first, which is selfish.  Selfish is bad and wrong.

The guilty mind punishes again and again.

Self-punishment is a strong motivator for many people. and it keeps them in a loop, like a hamster on a wheel, repeating a limited and unhappy existence. It is our destiny to live a joyful life, and A Course in Miracles is the mind-training to help us get there!

It’s interesting how many people believe they should feel guilty for taking care of themselves. One of the biggest challenges I see at work in many people’s minds is this belief that it’s better to give than to receive. How could that be true when there is only One? It’s insanity. The only place to give to is Spirit, and the only place to receive from is Spirit. How could giving be better than receiving? It’s so important, and valuable, and healing, and nourishing to be receptive to Spirit’s guidance and flow of Love. Without that, we wither and die, literally!

The ego thought system is diabolically opposed to itself!

The ego believes that taking care of yourself is selfish, which is bad and wrong. The ego believes that we’re supposed to give and give and give and give in order to get the Love, approval, attention and affection that we want and need. We end up believing that we have to give and give and give in order to earn Love, thereby reinforcing the idea that we’re separate from Love.

The ego believes that others are selfish, bad, and wrong if they don’t appreciate all that we’re giving to them. They should reciprocate by giving us everything that we need. It’s all lunacy. Time for a healing!

When we don’t take good care of ourselves, when we over-give and give in order to get something back, then we’re going to feel depleted and it’s not because someone made us or we did it for someone else. Over-giving to depletion is a choice that is a form of self-sabotage, and it’s time for us to let it go! We over-give because we believe in lack. Over-giving is an affirmation of lack.
Some spiritual students believe that suffering and martyrdom are somehow holy. This has been taught for thousands of years.

Suffering and martyrdom are the OPPOSITE of holy.
Suffering and martyrdom are pure ego.

It’s our responsibility to take good care of ourselves and keep our wellspring of energy, radiance and luminosity full.

There are no extra points for running on empty.

No one can maintain our radiance for us – this is ours to do. If you feel guilty taking good care of yourself consider this: If you live in service to the Light, then everything you do to make sure you are a brightly shining Light brings benefit to all. It’s not selfish to take good care of yourself, it’s another act of service to the Light!

Eliminating these thought patterns is exactly what my Finding Freedom Spiritual Boot Camp class is all about. This is where our Freedom is revealed. Freedom is already our natural state underneath all of the punishing thoughts we’ve adopted.

Managing and coping with painful patterns isn’t healing, and it’s not loving.

What can you do today to care for yourself with kindness?

One thing we can ALL do is give the guilt, known and unknown, recognized and unrecognized, to the Higher Holy Spirit Self for healing. Let the suffering be OVER! This is our time of Love & Freedom!

FINDING FREEDOM FROM FEAR starts TOMORROW!

Allowing the Peace of God

Saturday, May 25th, 2019

I’m having an absolutely wonderful time at the Boston ACIM Conference and the best part is having time with people that I don’t usually get to be in person with. It’s especially great to be with Prayer Partners. Wonderful!

Life is filled with constant opportunities for healing, and I’m so grateful I can see what it’s for most of the time. I am grateful that I’m able to be grateful when most of them are occurring. I’d like to receive each and every one of my blessings as a healing opportunity.

I used to reject so many of my healing opportunities by labeling them as bad and wrong. I didn’t know how much healing I was avoiding!

For instance, I’ve just had a healing opportunity as I sit down to write this. I woke up and made a cup of lovely organic Earl Grey tea in my own giant coffee mug that I’d brought with me, and I went to my little refrigerator (which I had to order special and pay extra for) and everything was frozen, including my organic pasture-raised half-and-half for my tea.

The morning before, I’d noticed that the half-and-half was half frozen, and some of my organic raspberries and blackberries were on the edge, so I turned the fridge down from the middle setting to the lowest setting. You have to laugh that the fridge froze all the fruit, the half-and-half, the hummus, the vegetables even, on the lowest setting.

I paused.
What am I to do now, Spirit?
No attachment.
No upset.
I got guidance to go to the front desk and show them the frozen half-and-half and ask them what they do in situations like this.

They’re working it out. They’ll let me know, and I can talk with them later about it. Breakfast plans are modified. No raspberries, no blackberries, no cherries. Something else will be fine.

They brought me new half-and-half, but of course it’s not organic and not pasture-raised. That’s life.

I bless it all and I’m grateful for healing.

Maybe in a different version of my script I could have been super triggered by it all. If I believed that the contents of my fridge were my salvation, I might likely have felt very threatened. I certainly have had that kind of experience SO MANY times in the past. Now, I really would like to LOVE what is to the fullest in my heart.

The more I live this way, the more I LOVE this life.

If only I could have heard that message many years ago when I hated my life.

What a blessing that I didn’t have to make anyone wrong.

And here’s another thing. When I first arrived, the wonderful bellman, Steve, helped me get all of my things to my room – and there were a lot of them, because I knew I’d be camping here for 5 days. Plus I had 6 boxes of flyers, and bookmarks, and things to hand out that went into storage because there was no room in my tiny room. Steve ordered the fridge for me at 3 p.m., and at 9 p.m. it still hadn’t arrived. I called and checked on it, and it immediately came.

When I went to the front desk this morning to share what happened with the frozen foods, I had the thought to tell them that I’d had to wait over 6 hours to get the fridge in the first place. That’s exactly the kind of thing I used to do. It’s all part of buying into being a victim, and trying to make people feel guilty and trying to get sympathy. I really don’t wish to do that anymore.

I think the very best part of this story for me is that I saw the temptation to build the victim/sympathy story and I didn’t choose it. When I went to the front desk I was lighthearted and fine, even at 6:30 in the morning.

This course can, therefore, be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Therein lies the
peace of God.
from the introduction to A Course in Miracles

I have asked Spirit to help me to fully know and see this this is an illusion. I’m willing to see the truth of everything in this world – that it is like a video game perfectly designed for our healing, and no matter what we choose, or experience we are still safe at home and the only distance we’ve traveled is in our minds.

Experiences like the one I’ve just had are such gentle teachers. No one has died, only organic raspberries have been frozen. Only LOVE is real and all of my Love is intact. No longer frozen! I am thawing out!

Everything works together for my personal and perfectly timed good and there are NO EXCEPTIONS. So glad to finally be seeing the end of making exceptions!

Where are you making exceptions and still labeling things bad or wrong?
Are you willing to see without exceptions?
Are you willing to practice today?

Finding Freedom from Fear is almost here!

Energetic Weather

Friday, March 29th, 2019

In class yesterday, I asked people if they were feeling what I was feeling. It seems like it started on Monday. I’ll call it “energetic weather” for lack of a better term.

Sometimes I get a strong sense that there’s an energy that is affecting all of us. I don’t do any research about where it’s coming from. That’s really not important to me. What matters is how I handle it and how I use it for my benefit.

For instance, I noticed it on Monday coming back from the retreat. I was feeling SO uplifted by all the breakthroughs people had at our Spring Clearing Retreat. And I was also feeling physically tired from having done so much, but I realize that there was a feeling underneath that was not normal.

It felt to me like a tenderness, a vulnerability that wasn’t related to anything I was thinking or feeling. It got more intense on Tuesday, and really became strong on Wednesday. Less so on Thursday.

Having to deal with certain issues and decisions related to work felt almost overwhelming to me – very odd. I took a lot of breaks, extra prayer, yoga, walks in nature, baths every day, healthy eating – all to support myself with gentleness through whatever was going on.

There are certain times that this energetic weather comes in and I notice that it feels like something we’re all experiencing. Do you feel it, too, this week?

I do think it’s important not to just push through, but to be gentle with ourselves. We’re having a human experience, but we don’t have to be super-human.

I’ve been resting more and sleeping more. It feels good to self-nurture.

What have you been feeling?
How is it affecting you?
How are you handling it?
I feel it helps to know we’re not alone!

Receptive

Monday, March 4th, 2019

Being receptive to Abundance and Prosperity is a thing that we can learn and get good at. I feel it’s super important that spiritual students become excellent at receiving, so that we can lead this world into a time of infinite Prosperity and remembering our spiritual inheritance of unlimited good.

This past week in Masterful Living we were talking about some of the challenges spiritual students have. One is that we can think it’s better to give than to receive, and so we don’t get really good at receiving.

I used to really struggle with finances and it took me a long time to realize that everything we receive comes from Spirit, and since Spirit is all there is, everything we give and share goes to Spirit, as well. It’s the perfect circle of giving and receiving, and what interrupts it is hoarding or withholding.

If we’re hoarding and withholding, then we’re not in the flow of the Infinite. Instead, we’re trying to manage and control the Infinite giving and receiving that Spirit is always offering us – and that just messes things up.

If you’d like to experience more good, share more good.
If you’d like to have more Prosperity, be willing to pass it along and keep it going.
If you’d like to receive more inspiration and support, then be grateful for what you have.

We cannot control the Source of All Good – hoarding is trying to control.
Withholding is trying to control.
Trying to control just cuts us off from the flow.
That’s the opposite of Prosperity and Abundance.

Be a great giver AND a great receiver to bring your life into balance. It really works!

Patience

Saturday, March 2nd, 2019

Right now I’m looking for a home near my brother in New Jersey. Where he lives he’s just 13 miles from Manhattan. In fact, you can see a beautiful view of that gorgeous NYC skyline a couple of blocks from my bro’s house.

Being so close to New York, and also being in a town with such good public schools, the taxes are super high, the houses are very desirable. I’m looking in a couple mile radius of my brother and in nearby towns. I’ve been out-bid on a couple of houses, and I’m continuing to look. I’m realizing that it takes quite a bit of time, and it’s not a lot of fun.

This week I bid the max I could afford on a house that was just 0.6 miles from my bro and had low taxes for the area. I bid way over the asking, and I was still a long way from the winning bid. The winner bid 2x over asking what I bid.

That’s life. For me, I trust that it wasn’t the best house for me. I trust that what is best for me will come to me and it will work out well. I don’t need to make anything happen – I let Spirit provide for me. I used to try to make things happen and I don’t like the energy of that AT ALL anymore.

This way of living and being works only because I really trust that everything is working together for my good. I’m so grateful to be at Peace about it.

Knowing that the highest and best is all that can unfold, I’m in joyful anticipation! My realtor says she’s learning a lot from me. That’s sweet. We’re blessing each other. Life is good.

I’ve never owned a home of my own, and I ask for your prayers and blessings for ease and grace all the way. I can’t wait to see my new house!

You Always Get What You Want

Tuesday, October 30th, 2018

Yes, that’s the truth– if you’re willing to see with God’s eyes. Ego tells us, “You can’t handle the truth!” But that is not true.

There is a perfection embedded in the very essence of Life, and it’s known to us as Grace.

Grace is the most amazing thing, more spectacular than any great magician or stunt daredevil. Grace refreshes and renews.

If we’re willing, we can begin to remember to laugh at what has been so challenging and difficult. With that laughter, we can expand our willingness to live fully enveloped in God’s unerring and unending Grace.

Why wouldn’t we?
We don’t have to earn it.
It’s ours already!

So amazing, right?

When we’re willing to recognize, to “re-cognize” that we always get what we want, we can start to experience something beyond the endless wanting, craving and needing.

Let’s go for it!
Let’s ALLOW the Grace of God to permeate our awareness and demonstrate in our life!

If you feel bereft of goodness and Grace, ask for it.
Ask to be shown, to be told, to have it revealed.

Have the courage to own that maybe you really did, for some crazy hidden reason, want what you have that you don’t actually like. It’s a crazy world, and crazy stuff happens until we’re done with it.

We are laying the burden down!

We are willing to offer up all resistance and all blocks.
There is a Light within us that can never go out, and that Light knows the way!

Our willingness is all that’s required.

Good news! Masterful Living 2019 registration is coming soon!
Let’s commit to doing the deeper work together and raising our vibration to the heights!

Authenticity

Monday, October 29th, 2018

When I was struggling and was really judgmental I had a lot of Self-Love issues, a lot of self-judgments and I mostly felt that I wasn’t good enough. One of the biggest issues for me was that I felt I had to keep parts of myself hidden because they were so unlovable. I was ashamed of my unhealed self.

I felt a lot like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

I truly believed there was something wrong with me, and so, of course, I wanted to keep that hidden. I felt that I was too much, too opinionated and outspoken and not outspoken enough, too mean and too nice, too angry and too passive, too giving and too generous.

It was a crazy-thought overload.

I often felt that my personality, my being, my body, my “everything” was not lovable.

I felt I was valuable for what I could accomplish and do for others.

Therefore, being authentic was terrifying. I was working really hard to keep my “true” self hidden, because I judged my true self as being ugly, bad and wrong.

At the same time, I thought I was better than everyone else. More ego insanity!!!!

Now, that I’ve been actively, intently practicing non-judgment, every day for more than a decade, I have to laugh! There’s hardly a day that goes by that someone doesn’t tell me how much they appreciate my authenticity. Literally, almost every day, people tell me they love my authentic sharing – that I don’t pretend to be different than I am. I just put it out there.

So, I’ve learned the power of both non-judgment and authenticity.

I LOVE people who are transparent and authentic. It takes courage and Self-Love.

It’s important to understand that being authentic and transparent doesn’t mean sharing all your opinions and judgments directed at others. Attacking others is not authentic at all – it’s pure ego, which isn’t authentic. It’s completely false.

Authenticity requires humility, compassion, kindness, and humor. And, in my Masterful Living Course, we’re really learning to see, know, and share our authentic Self. It’s really quite remarkable how much we come to Love and appreciate each other JUST AS WE ARE.

I’m grateful I didn’t give up all those years ago, but instead made my commitment to non-judgment and true humility. I’m still becoming more my true Self, every day, and it’s an amazing, miraculous journey of LOVE. I’m so glad we’re taking the journey together!

Thank you for traveling alongside me!!

Loving Acceptance

Monday, October 8th, 2018

Loving acceptance of WHAT IS does not make us weak – just the opposite. Our loving acceptance of what is can bring us Peace, but not if we hold in our mind that acceptance is somehow a “giving up”.

When we’re at Peace, we can feel, and hear, and recognize spiritual guidance and intuition. We can be truly helpful.

What is acceptance?

We accept that what is going on is happening.
We accept that what happened has happened.
We accept that things are as they are.

That’s what acceptance is.
It doesn’t mean we like it, and it doesn’t mean we approve.

First we accept, and then we can energize our intentions in order to bring a shift.

A Course in Miracles tells us,
“ … seek not to change the world,
but choose to change your mind about the world.”

For instance, let’s say your house just became flooded and, effectively, destroyed. Your workplace has also been destroyed, and so you no longer have a job, but you still have a family to feed and take care of. You might find this intensely upsetting. You might not like it at all. You might not wish to accept it. If you’re not able to accept what is happening, you’ll have a hard time moving to the place of healing. Acceptance comes first.

I’ve heard a number of people say things like “What will be, will be.” Que sera sera.

That goes against what I’ve learned about this world.
This world is a projection of our mind, gently planned by One Whose only purpose is our good.
It’s not happening TO us.
It’s happening BY us. We’re part of the group mind that’s bringing global changes about.

In this world, we make choices of how to think and feel about things, and our thoughts and beliefs become our experiences. Our beliefs are like a magnet in our mind that attracts the thoughts that we might choose to think. Our thoughts, then, become like molds that form our experiences. We can break the mold and have a new experience. We can choose a new thought. We can relinquish the beliefs that don’t serve, and energize the truth that sets us free.

“True learning is constant, and so vital in its power for change that a Son of God can recognize his power in one instant and change the world in the next. That is because, by changing his mind, he has changed the most powerful device that was ever given him for change.” ACIM T-7.V.7.

We are not victims of circumstance.
We can change our mind.
We can choose our thoughts.

Let’s recognize our power, rather than deny it.

It’s so valuable to us that we have the ability to change our mind, and that we have the ability to choose what we’ll energize. We can choose to serve God or ego.

What will be, will be — unless we change our mind about it.
Let’s choose to change our mind about the world.

Let’s take dominion over our minds, and continuously energize the highest and best for all and a world that works lovingly for everyone.

Let us not just stand back and become voyeurs in this world. We are the dreamers of this dream. Let’s not abdicate our “response-ability”. Let’s actively energize that more Peace, more Love and more Joy are happening now.

We pray to accept the things we cannot change, and to Love what is, even if we don’t like it.

Acceptance is a starting point to our empowerment!
Forgiveness is the thing that brings us to acceptance AND empowerment!

Do you have anything to forgive?

Absolute Abundance

Monday, October 1st, 2018

For so long, I was living in lack, and I worried about money a lot. It was a constant theme in my life. As a spiritual counselor, I frequently counseled people who were worried about money, and there were times that I felt like a fraud because I, too, was worried about money. Worry, worry, worry.

It took me until I was really willing to put my attention on seeking the Kingdom first before things changed for me. Once I put my attention on returning to an awareness of the truth, and putting every other thing after that in my priorities, then things began to change for me.

I know, absolutely, that my financial flow changed because of the forgiveness I did. I had to forgive others that I blamed for my financial issues. I had to let go of the meaning I made of things. And, I had to forgive myself for my choices, most especially the choice to blame others.

I also had to shift my focus from thoughts of lack and limitation to thoughts of being grateful for the Unity of all life.

I had to consciously choose to become receptive, and allow myself to receive.

I had to confront my belief that money was the root of all evil, and realize that money has no power– it’s inert. It’s how we hold things in our mind that shapes our lives.

I became aware that, in past lives, I’d taken vows of poverty that were still operating in my awareness. I gave them up to Spirit for healing, and they were healed.

The forgiveness changed things for me permanently.

Then, I had to become really truly fiscally responsible. Of course, it was all preparation for the work I do now, running a non-profit organization and managing all the finances of everything.

One shift in my awareness led to another and another.

I feel so strongly that it started with forgiveness, and then the next step was being receptive, and the next step was shifting from affirming limitations constantly to affirming abundance constantly.

Everything is related. No matter how much we compartmentalize things, there’s no separation on any level – everything is connected ALL of the time.

That can seem like a burden, but it’s actually a wonderful thing!

Because everything is connected– every thought, every being, every choice– we are living in the “butterfly effect”. We can change one thought and change our whole lives.

Can you feel the truth in that?
The ego thought system denies it, but it’s still true.

We cannot hold a resentment against one person and not have it affect our whole life.
Every choice we make for Love affects our whole life.

Every moment we choose how we will serve– with Love or without.

Because of forgiveness, I am free.
I AM so grateful that every moment counts!

Retreats start next weekend!
In my retreats, people have consistently experienced healing of relationships that were believed beyond repair. I’ve witnessed healing of chronic physical and emotional issues because of the deep healing work we do together.

I’ve only been doing these retreats once per year. It’s a small group. We go deep. Now’s the time to rise and shine. Let us be the fulcrum point of healing in our family and in our workplace. We have all that we need within us – let’s do it this year, and set ourselves up for the holidays and for our new year. It’s not too early to get the healing ball rolling!

If you’d like to really let go of the past, consider joining with me and other like-minded souls to have fun doing it together. I’m offering my Forgive & Be Free Retreat and my Spiritual Counseling Training Intensive in October. You’re invited to our healing party!

If you haven’t taken my survey about your interests and you think you might be interested in our teacher trainings and spiritual counselor trainings, please click here now and take 30 seconds to answer my survey. My next retreats and more are all listed here on my Events page.

Non-judgment Day

Sunday, September 30th, 2018

I can remember so many years heading into the winter solstice, with the days getting consistently shorter. My birthday, the holidays, and the winter itself, would bring a certain kind of feeling similar to PTSD for what I’d experienced in the past.

I used to go into the holidays EXPECTING to be disappointed. I used to anticipate that I’d be revisiting the same painful hurts and memories as previous years.

I would look for the offenses and upsets that matched my experience in the past so, I could reinvigorate the painful meaning I’d made of things in the past. And then, I’d get to be right all over again.

Not happy, but right.

Can you relate?
I’ve found this is a common theme for people, and for those of us in the northern hemisphere it starts now. In the USA, we have Thanksgiving at the end of November, and this year it’s on my birthday. Thanksgiving is the biggest family holiday we have. The day before is always the biggest single travel day in the USA all year long.

So many triggers, so little time.

But, I have a different experience now.
First of all, it’s been years since there was pain and upsets at the holidays in my life.

I used to visit family, and after 3 days I’d start to feel sad and depressed.
What was wrong with me?
Why did I keep doing this to myself?
Why did I keep thinking that I could stay for a week, when I would start to feel depressed after just a few days?
Why did I keep repeating the same madness, expecting a new experience?

And on and on.

Here’s what changed everything for me: Taking responsibility.

As part of my deciding not to be focused on judging, complaining, constantly criticizing, and looking for problems, I began to start to look for ways to extend compassion and kindness.

When offense was taken, I committed to being the one who would go first and make amends.

I stopped taking everything personally, because I started to see all my attacks on others were more about me than about them.

And then, as my mind started becoming more kind and loving, I began to see that none of my attacks were about them, and ALL of them were about me.

None of this happened over night.
It was slow and gradual change, over years.

But the super cool thing is, that I realized every change I made rippled out to my family and friends. I could be the one who decided whether or not I was pissed off and hurt. The upset couldn’t happen without my agreement!

It was me. I was the one I had to forgive for having made my life into a portal to hell.

I studied spirituality for nearly 20 years, feeling that truth was an ever-illusive mystery that I just couldn’t get to. For me, truth was just beyond one more door that I was trying to pry open. I was looking outside myself for insight, thinking that an intellectual approach would bring me what I was looking for, because my intellect had always (or so I thought!) helped me in the past.

I’d figured out my problems in the past.
I could figure out how to get connected to Spirit.
I didn’t know that the intellect is a tool of the ego.

But, through my deep desire of the heart to truly know Spirit, and to truly break free of pain and suffering, I was led and guided. It was ONLY my willingness that helped me to see through the bushes and brambles of ego blocks and subterfuge.

I now LOVE this time of year, for a whole new set of reasons! Check this out:

From September into January, I get to have 1-on-1 appointments with all the folks who are in my year-long Masterful Living Course. When we talk early in the year, things are challenging. It’s not so easy. People are looking deeply into their patterns and habits to eliminate the causes of suffering. Some people experience it with a lot of Joy and Freedom, but not all. Some begin having many miracles all at once. But, that’s not true for everyone. Some folks find it super challenging, and they are heroic in their not giving up.

I’ve been having 1-on-1’s with the folks in this community for weeks now, and it’s such a pleasure. By now, most people are telling me their successes in how this year has been so life-changing for them. They’re telling me how differently they feel about themselves and their life. They tell me stories of marriages that are experiencing a rebirth of Love, and relationships with family that are getting better every day. They’re looking forward to doing the holidays differently.

And, because we have people who continue doing the work together with me and the community for years, I get to celebrate the long term AMAZING transformation of their lives, careers, families, finances and more.

When someone is absolutely convinced that they are unlovable,
and now they know it’s not true,
that changes every minute
of every day
of the rest of their lives –
and for those around them as well.

I love listening to someone share how they made a decision to do something differently in their workplace, because they just wanted to be nicer to the people in their lives. Over the course of a year, their shifts change the entire culture of their workplace. Then, their co-workers take home a different attitude, and they share that with their family. Their children take that with them to school, and then the other kids in their class take that home to their family, and that’s how the world changes.

ACIM says: Seek not to change the world, but to change your mind about the world.

It works!

That’s why I’m committed to proving it.

I absolutely LOVE the last third of the year. It’s four months of reaping the rewards and celebrating the benefits. They aren’t dark months, anymore. There’s nothing to fear, anymore. It’s win-win all the way!

Yesterday, I got this idea, and I’d like to share it with you and see what you think.

I feel guided to propose that this Power of Love community create a community newsletter or digital bulletin board where people share their challenges and their successes.

In Masterful Living, we hear the most AMAZING miracles and transformations on a regular basis, but we keep it pretty contained because we have strong confidentiality in order to support a sense of feeling really safe within the community.

If you’re not in class with me, would you like to hear what people are doing, and learn from them and their stories?

If you’re in class, would you be willing to share your experiences and stories?

In this day and age, we can make audios, videos, poems, collages and all kinds of ways to express our stories of healing and victory of Spirit. Fun!

No matter how it looks on the surface, and in the news, Love IS being revealed, and we can put more focus on celebrating that, especially now as we’re heading to the holidays.

What do you feel you’d like?

Relief

Thursday, September 27th, 2018

I’ve heard it said that, the reason why our family can push our buttons so easily is because they installed them. Ha ha ha! However, it’s really not true.

It took me a long time to get with the program, but I finally realized that I installed all the buttons, and I can de-install them, too. Each button, each trigger, each internal hot spot, sore spot, and sensitivity is of my own making.

I can remember getting SO triggered, and then blame, blame, blaming it on others. I used to be rattled to my CORE, but no more! I haven’t felt that way in so long, and I’m SO grateful!

It might be past life or this life, but it all comes back to me making decisions to hold onto grievances against myself and others. Those become like land mines in our psyche. Where I used to get so bothered if someone said something negative about me, I can now extend compassion, and I don’t get triggered.

I don’t have those same beliefs about myself, so there’s nothing there to get triggered. That’s true Freedom.

It’s such a RELIEF to not be upset by things all day long.
It’s such a relief to not be afraid and worried on a regular basis.

I honestly never thought I could EVER be consistently peaceful as I am now, and that’s why I encourage you, if you’re not consistently peaceful, do the self-forgiveness work. Devote yourself to it.

I get so inspired by the folks in my Masterful Living classes. This week and last, I’ve been talking with individuals who are having breakthrough after breakthrough. They’ve done the inner work, and they are reaping the rewards. It’s beautiful!

It’s easy to become convinced that it’s not possible for us, that we’re somehow un-redeemable, and stuck in a bad place, but it’s not true, and it’s such a HUGE relief to discover that for ourselves! It’s so important, too, because then we can share the benefits with everyone, and it makes it easier for everyone who goes for it too!

Let’s spread the relief!

1 week until my retreats!
In my retreats, people have consistently experienced healing of relationships that were believed beyond repair. I’ve witnessed healing of chronic physical and emotional issues because of the deep healing work we do together.
