Vision of Holiness

Tuesday, April 7th, 2020

There’s a gift we’ve been given and it is the Holy Spirit’s vision of our holiness, and the holiness of all life. To see with his vision there’s only one requirement and it’s that we’re willing to see ONLY with this vision.

This means we must give up all of our attachments to see the world that we have made up. In other words, must relinquish our attachments, our mental and emotional attachments, to our opinions and judgments about the world and everything in it, and everything that’s not in the world too.

It’s a tall order, but it’s worth it and our willingness is all that’s required.

In this time of coronavirus, we can hold in our mind that something extraordinary, something magnificent, something truly inspiring is unfolding even though it may not FEEL like it.

If we’re willing to see it the vision of holiness will be given to us.

This is Easter week, it’s Holy Week. What better time to cultivate a vision of holiness? There is none. Now is the appointed and perfect time.

Let us ask to see our true reality with the Holy Spirit’s vision.

“The song of Easter is the glad refrain the Son of God was never crucified. Let us lift up our eyes together, not in fear but faith. And there will be no fear in us, for in our vision will be no illusions; only a pathway to the open door of Heaven, the home we share in quietness and where we live in gentleness and peace, as one together.” A Course in Miracles, T-20.II.8.

We cannot place our faith in Spirit while simultaneously holding onto a grievance or a grudge.

It’s time for us to really understand this basic fact.
Let us place onto the altar of God’s Love for us all grievances and grudges. There’s no greater gift we could give to Jesus this Easter, than to be willing to relinquish all of our grievances and grudges to him for healing. Let’s do it! Let’s be that generous! Let’s be that willing!

Let’s leave them on the altar and offer them up PERMANENTLY, never take them back and simply be grateful.

To be peace-full, to live a vision of holiness, to be happy, we must be willing to relinquish all grievances.

Today’s the perfect day to double down and deepen our commitment to relinquish all attack thoughts and live in Freedom. We’re cultivating a vision of holiness that raises us up and liberates our brothers and sisters too!

Undoing Worry

Monday, April 6th, 2020

Many people are feeling anxious and worried right now. It’s understandable, AND it’s avoidable. Truly it is.

I feel it’s so valuable to cultivate the peaceful mind. It’s worth the effort it takes. Being worried is exhausting.

We can undo the worry if we’re willing to focus on our spiritual practice.

I’ve been connecting with a number of folks who are concerned about their family members and the choices their loved ones are making right now. People see their loved ones making choices that seem to place their life in danger. That can be super scary. It can trigger a worried mind.

What adds to that intensity is judging our loved ones too.

When our mind goes to what they’re doing “wrong” we start to feel upset.

And we also feel guilty (even if we don’t realize it) because we know that it’s not helpful to judge anyone.

And then we blame them for making us feel upset.

And then we feel more guilty (even if we don’t realize it), because it’s not their fault we’re upset.

And so the patterns go on and on – unless we interrupt them.

This is why I’m such a big proponent of realizing the upset is a warning signal, an alarm bell that lets us know that we’re making unloving choices and thinking unloving thoughts and we can change our mind, go the other way, if we choose.

Every day presents opportunities for us to have a healing. It’s extraordinary what a difference it makes when we commit to no longer justifying the upset and instead we decide to extend Love to everyone.

When we accept responsibility for our thoughts and feelings, we can actually realize there’s power in that.

Let’s diminish the worry and anxiety by extending Love, choosing again and doing the U-turn so that we can go the other way and choose compassion.

I’ve learned that keeping myself peaceful is super important AND it’s within my control. It does require a great willingness and a discipline, but it’s SO worth it.

Let’s not add to the worry in the world, let’s undo it.

Today’s the day to practice!

Cultivating Peace

Sunday, April 5th, 2020

I’m a very sound sleeper. I fall asleep so easily. I’m very blessed that way and I’m so grateful. For the last week I’ve noticed that I’m not falling asleep as easily or sleeping as soundly.

I can tell that even though I feel at Peace, the majority of people don’t, and, being an empath, I can feel what others are going through. I know many people in New York, some I’m talking with each day, and things are very intense there. I know others who are very worried about family members.

I saw that Maggie Haberman, longtime NY Times White House reporter, who apparently lives in Brooklyn said that the sirens were non-stop in Brooklyn. I can only imagine how intense that would be and I’d rather not.

I saw in the paper where EMT (emergency medical transportation) workers were overwhelmed and afraid.

When we trust more in our own abilities than we do in Spirit, then we’re always insecure and off-balance.

The only way to truly be at Peace is to place our full faith and trust in Spirit.

In each and every moment, we are placing our trust and faith somewhere in something. If we’re not placing it in Spirit, where are we placing it? This is one of the most basic aspects of our spiritual practice. This is why TRUST is the #1 characteristic of God’s Teachers.

It’s times like this that are calling us to place our trust and faith in Spirit.

The stress of trying to rely upon our own resources, and our own abilities is intense!

The pain of separation thinking is pushing us.
The vision of our holiness is pulling us.

Let us be more pulled by the vision than pushed by the pain.

This is Easter week, and Passover week too. This is the time for us to remember to Partner UP with our Higher Holy Spirit Self.

While so many of our brothers and sisters are essential workers to support the rest of us. And so many are risking their lives and going through a nightmare scenario in hospitals all over this world, let us hold down the spiritual fort for them and PRAY.

Let’s stand strong in our faith and KNOW that EVERYTHING works together for our good. Now, more than ever, for some of us, the pain is pushing us to hold the vision and not make any compromises.

One of the things I love about the A Course in Miracles Manual for Teachers is Chapter 4’s Characteristics of God’s Teachers. Trust is #1, and #2 is honesty, which Jesus says means consistency.

He tells us, “Conflict is the inevitable result of self-deception, and self-deception is dishonesty.”

I find this so helpful. We do deceive ourselves, and frequently. We play these mind-games that keep us going around in circles. Now is the time for honesty.

Hear what ACIM is telling us: Honesty is the way OUT of conflict.

Trust is the way to Peace.

Consider this, if you’re in a relationship with someone who is deceptive, can you ever rest, relax and feel secure with them? No, of course not. So, the same thing applies to our relationship with our self. Let’s be honest with ourselves. Let’s cultivate an honest relationship with our own self.

Can we actually be heart-centered and open-hearted and be self-deceiving? It seems impossible to me.

Let’s stop playing games and deceiving ourselves, if only because it’s not loving, and not supportive of our awakening.

More than ever, our consciousness is needed to be a support to people who are freaking out, and people who are exhausted or experiencing intense trauma. We can be available to support them. Let’s be honest with ourselves and others and let’s be intent on learning to rely upon Spirit rather than our own abilities and devices.

In that same section on Honesty in the Manual for Teachers on Honesty, Jesus says, “There is no challenge to a teacher of God. Challenge implies doubt, and the trust on which God’s teachers rest secure makes doubt impossible. Therefore they can only succeed.”
Let’s recognize that we can only succeed if we’re willing to consistently trust Spirit. Isn’t that a great thing to PROVE?

Let’s PROVE Spirit works in our life.
Let’s live without inner conflict.
Let’s be truly helpful.

If this is a struggle for you, consider getting support.

An option to help alleviate fear is to work with one of our spiritual counselors. When folks are in my certification program, they must do 111 sessions as part of their requirements and you can help them by booking a session now. All sessions with a counselor-in-training are offered on a donation basis. Click here to learn more now. You’ll have options to book with a certified counselor or one in training.

Now more than ever it’s important to hold to our spiritual practices. And prayer is our POWER TOOL.

To be helpful is why every day I write inspiration and record a prayer to go with it. You can join me in cultivating the willingness that raises us ALL up so we can be truly helpful in this world. Please share my daily prayer with anyone who would find it helpful.

Let’s pray on behalf of all the people who’ve lost their jobs and have a family to feed.

Let’s also remember all of the olympic athletes around the world who’ve worked SO HARD to qualify and now have to wait one more year. That’s intense too.

Think of all the weddings that are being postponed.
And the babies being born who won’t get to be held by their grandparents for a while.
Consider the folks who are unable to quarantine in detention camps.

Some people are complaining they’re bored.
Let’s see if we can help them find a way to be truly helpful for others.
There are people all over the world who would be thrilled to trade places.

Sanity In Times of Insanity

Saturday, April 4th, 2020

Another day “living la vida loca”. Yesterday morning I went to the giant Whole Foods grocery store to shop for myself and my brother’s family. There was a line to get in when I got there at 8:30 a.m., mostly because a number of cashiers had called in sick and they didn’t want the lines to pay to get long, so they weren’t letting that many people into the store, even though it is a HUGE store.

When I got to the front of the line, I told the security guard that because I was wearing the face mask she couldn’t see that I was smiling at her. But she said she could tell by my eyes. She was wearing a mask, too, and I could tell she was smiling, also. It was a sweet moment. My mask is actually a head covering that I’m now using as a mask, because it’s the closest thing I have to a mask.

When I got to the cashier to check-out and pay for my groceries, I had such a deep sense of gratitude for her and all the others working in the store. I thanked the woman and said, “Thank you for being here so I could buy food for my family.” And I started to cry. I am so deeply touched and grateful for all the people who are making personal sacrifices so that some of us can have the basics, even if the basics include things like potato chips and yogurt.

I understand that some people are bored staying at home.
Some people are inconvenienced and annoyed by the quarantine.
Others aren’t abiding by it all.
Others think that wearing masks are stupid and unnecessary.

I’ve heard it all.

What I feel is immense gratitude.
I feel safe and protected.

I feel grateful that my family is safe and so are most of my friends.

I am SO grateful for the people who are working so hard to keep the rest of us alive and safe.

I am so aware that many are intensely challenged right now, and I’m praying more than ever that people can find Peace in the midst of this experience.

I know there are many thousands of people who are going through a very difficult time, so we need to extend them Love and compassion and do all that we can for them.

This is a time for all of us to pitch in.

I’ve got friends who’ve had their businesses shut down.
Friends who can’t work because they’re home sick.

They’re homeschooling their kids, so they can’t pick up extra work because they have to be home with their children. So, I’m sending them care packages of food and toys for the children to play with.

What can you do for folks to help them out in their time of need?

Have you got a sewing machine? Maybe you could make masks or you could pay for a seamstress in your town to do it.

It’s not about protecting yourself so much as protecting others. I’ve already had friends who were infected, but asymptomatic and didn’t know it, walking around infecting loved ones. We really do need to all behave as if we’re infected and asymptomatic, at least when we’re outside our home.

One funny note. When I was at the grocery store shopping, I was looking at my list and my brother’s list on my phone but my facial recognition software on my iPhone wouldn’t recognize me with the mask on, so I kept having to put in my password. I had to laugh about it!

Feel Your Feelings

Friday, April 3rd, 2020

I had many years where I stuffed a lot of my feelings. Anger was the one feeling I felt most comfortable with.

It was a huge learning curve for me to allow myself to feel my feelings without trying to stuff them back down.

What was amazing for me was that once I began to really allow myself to have more than just anger and fleeting happiness, I began to feel true Joy, as well. Sometimes I’d feel so joyful I’d begin to cry.

I had to develop the courage to feel the sad feelings as well as the intensity of anger and not just annoyance, frustration, irritation, feeling offended and hurt. It was profoundly liberating.

Then I had to learn not to stew and soak and marinate in the feelings.

I had to learn the discipline and Self-care not to add fuel to the fire. Unfortunately, it took years of painfully stoking those fires of pain and falling into the fire pit of pain, again and again and AGAIN, before I finally learned that I didn’t have to do that.

Part of our spiritual growth of Self-Love is to learn to honor our feelings.

We do this through a process:

  • allow the feeling to come up for healing – don’t stuff them, or self-medicate them away
  • feel them but not soak in them
  • recognize the thoughts that are generating the feelings
  • let them pass on through – forgive ourselves for believing the false-beliefs that are generating the upsets

It’s so helpful to learn how to do this.

We can learn to have our mind be like the sky. Clouds will pass through and seem to block the sun, but the sun is still there. We don’t have to focus on the cloud but we can notice that it’s there. We can KNOW that the cloud isn’t permanent. It’s a temporary appearance, not built to last.

Right now, many people are getting triggered by many things that are occurring. Old wounds are coming up for healing and we can choose that healing and share the benefits with everyone. Healing is happening now.

Stay Home, Be Safe, Be Helpful

Thursday, April 2nd, 2020

One of the things I see happening is that many of us are having a common experience. All over the world, BILLIONS of people are staying at home, working from home or laid off from jobs, or home from school and we’re all making the best of it – or we’re working to get the services necessary for the people who’re staying at home.

I like to watch the late night comedy shows with hosts like Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Samantha Bee and Jimmy Fallon. They’re all working from home and their families are pitching in as camera crews and support. It’s sweet to watch them.

While David Geffen might be in a huge yacht in the ocean, most of us are having a totally different experience.

Rock stars, movie stars, and TV stars are all staying at home and they’re looking to see how they can be helpful. Being helpful is a really good way to pass the time. We can all be helpful in one way or another.

It’s our time to rise and shine.

Today is my Sacred Circle day and I feel that we value it even more in this time of staying home. Certainly those of us in Masterful Living are appreciating our connections and gatherings more. We’re adding extra sessions for us to gather and connect in this community and everyone is showing up, sharing the Love, and the gratitude is so palpable.

Right now, parents who aren’t usually at home all day with their little ones are discovering a whole new world in lockdown. Many are finding their worlds turned upside down.

Introverts like me are doing well. But people who like lots of connection are having to find it in new ways. See if you can find out who needs connection but doesn’t know how to reach out.

Some people are having trouble sleeping.
Some are having panic attacks.
Some are bored.
Some are having a lot more work to do.

Do you know who is experiencing what in your circle? Reach out, find out.

The main thing is that if we don’t have to leave home for work, we’re staying home and staying safe.

We’re being responsible. After all, the healthcare workers have enough to deal with already.

Even if you don’t feel you’ll be subject to the virus, let’s all pitch in to a new level of responsibility and caring for our brothers and sisters. I found this video to be helpful, inspiring, and informative. And let’s help others feel good about it, too.

It’s also important to remember to laugh.  A friend who is home with little ones sent me this meme and it made me laugh. I also posted it on my personal Facebook.

I think my favorites are the lecture series. Especially, “How to stop making unnecessary noise.”  Which part is your favorite? Do you have one to add?  Please share in the comments below!

Pain is a Wrong Perspective

Wednesday, April 1st, 2020

As A Course in Miracles tells us we don’t know what anything is for. We just don’t know and won’t know until we can see beyond time and space, and until then I hold in my mind that everything works together for our good even when we can’t make sense of it.

ACIM also tells us that pain is the wrong perspective.

Let’s look at things from a spiritual perspective and rise above the level of fear.

I now know a few people who have had the Coronavirus, or think they have. I know two people who tested positive. One, a middle-aged very fit man, was hospitalized for two weeks and is home and doing well.

Another one is an older woman and she and her friends, who are also older women, and her husband have tested positive, and they’ve had mild symptoms such as feeling tired, slight fever, loss of taste for a few days. Nothing more than that. It’s been no big deal for them, and they have all definitely tested positive for COVID-19.

I have another friend who thinks she’s had the virus and has been not feeling well, a cough, feeling tired, nothing extreme but not feeling well, and self-quarantined for a few weeks now.

I tell you all of this with the hopes that it will relieve you of some fears you may have. We’re going to be developing herd immunity to this virus the way we’ve developed herd immunity to the more common flu. It’s happening.

The Center for Disease Control is telling us that many people will be infected but feeling fine – and they are most likely to spread the virus because they’re not self-quarantining. This is why it’s so important to stay home and follow the guidelines.

AND it’s extremely important to remember that we are spiritual beings.
We become invulnerable by being loving and being of service to Love and Light.

We raise our vibration up with gratitude and with extending compassion.

The script is already written, and it’s complex and multi-layered.
This experience will bring benefit to all and we MUST hold that in our hearts, ESPECIALLY when it does not seem like that could ever be possible. That’s the most important time for us to not be deceived by appearances.

Right now, it’s easy to go on an angry and fearful rant about how some people have handled this pandemic. There is a list of reasons why people could be absolutely furious for what’s happened and not happened. It’s understandable.

AND that will not help us.
Only Love will lift us up above the challenge we’re in now.

The medical workers’ display of Love and courage is an inspiration to us.

If we don’t like things, we must contact our senators and representatives and make our feelings known. We can vote and we can take loving action to help people.

Taking loving action will help us right now.
Let’s keep our vibration high through prayer.

Let us pray that all the medical workers are supported, guided, and protected by Love.

It’s the least we can do. And it is SO POWERFUL!

Thank you for praying with me today!

WE First, Not ME First

Tuesday, March 31st, 2020

Right now in our world it may seem that there’s a lot of sicknesses, a lot of illness, and that it’s increasing. I understand that this is how it looks if we look at it from the perspective of being a body. But we are NOT a body. And we never will be.

From a spiritual point of view, there’s a healing that is taking place. The healing is happening in our belief system, in our mind, and in our perspective.

If we look at what’s happening with the death and illness from Covid-19, we’ll see the only loss. When our loved ones lose their lives in this world it sure does seem like a loss, but there IS something greater occurring if we’re willing to see it – and we cannot see it if we believe we are a body.

Now is the time for us to remember that we’re not separate, we’re One with each other. A Course in Miracles calls this “accepting the Atonement.”
Miracles Principle #25 from the Text of ACIM is “Miracles are part of an interlocking chain of forgiveness which, when completed, is the Atonement. Atonement works all the time and in all the dimensions of time.”

We have a spiritual obligation to be WILLING to see past separation and accept that it never was, nor could it be.

If we’re willing, our mind will be released from believing in separation.

Right now, there’s a powerful remedy to separation thinking that’s occurring in our human experience by means of this virus. Every day we get to clearly choose between fear and compassion. Those who are choosing fear are obvious because they are not choosing compassion. Those who are choosing compassion are obvious because they are not choosing fear.

Compassion is a loving understanding. Compassion is an expression of Love that heals.

Fear binds, Love liberates.

You can tell what you’re choosing by how you feel – tense or peaceful.

Interestingly, one way for us to best survive this virus is to separate but not to see ourselves as separate. We must keep our bodies separate, but we must unite in choosing to care so much about our brothers and sisters that we’re willing to do what it takes to keep the virus from killing the most vulnerable of us.

We must unite in order to “do the right thing.”

We must be of one mind in order to accomplish this healing with the greatest ease and grace.

We can succeed best by recognizing our connection with all beings. Fires, floods, plagues. These experiences are forcing us to recognize that we are interdependent and not independent.

We cannot survive by saying “me first.” We must say “WE first.”

It takes a great willingness to set aside the consciousness of separation we’ve all worked so hard to cultivate. And we can either choose to be pushed by the pain or pulled by the vision.

Most of us choose some of each. We’re here to be truly helpful and being TRULY helpful means helping people to see clearly the difference between choosing pain and choosing Joy. So, we must work with our minds to eliminate our attraction to painful choices.

If we’re willing the Higher Holy Spirit Self will heal our minds and that will enable us to see, know, and feel clearly the truth that liberates us from the perspective that is painful.

Today’s the perfect day to double down and deepen our commitment to know the truth that sets us free from fear and suffering. Today’s our kind of day!

Fear Has No Power

Monday, March 30th, 2020

I’m self-quarantined in New Jersey for a couple of geeks now (just to be a good citizen), and so I’ve been watching New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, give his daily reports for the community. I’m very appreciative of them, especially because I have many beloved friends in New York.

Cuomo’s reports are filled with facts as well as inspiration. He also gives very practical advice, and even relationship advice. He advises that this is the time to reach out to people and let them know that you care and that you love them.

Yesterday, Cuomo shared that, in recent days, 76,000 medical professionals have volunteered to help serve New York’s citizenry in their time of need. 76,000! That’s extraordinary. That’s an outpouring! That’s our Spirit responding to the call.

Here’s my Facebook post from Saturday:

In New York, the bodies of the family’s loved ones are being stored in refrigerated trucks because there’s nothing anyone can do with the bodies at this point, while in other parts of the country people are still thinking this global pandemic is some kind of cruel hoax. New Yorker’s and others are stepping up to the challenge. People are finding their super-hero nature and accessing it to be of service to total strangers.

This is the time we were born for.

Many times, New Yorker’s are portrayed as uncaring city dwellers, but that’s not been my experience. I lived in Manhattan for 10 years, and I found New Yorker’s to be amazing and wonderful, for the most part. People who live in such close quarters have learned to have compassion, understanding, and appreciation for each other.

I’m so moved by the stories of the doctors and nurses on the front line of this pandemic. Their extraordinary compassion and caring, their tireless work and efforts, often at great risk to themselves, is nothing short of miraculous.

I have learned that the antidote to fear is always to open our hearts in Love and compassion.

Let us do just that and pray for the people who are putting their life on the line. Let us give thanks for them every day and bless their families who are must surely concerned for their safety.

And let us pray for the families of those who have left this world. Families that are taking their loved ones to the hospital never to see them again because it’s not safe for them to visit.

This is the time for us to pray and pray and pray some more. It will strengthen us and give us the vitality and resistance to being invulnerable to this challenge.

Now is the time for us to forget our differences and remember that we are one, whether we like it or not.

We ARE One and fear will never, ever conquer us.

Love is what we are and fear is NOTHING.

What do you have to say to the voice of fear? Please share in the comments below!

Remembering to Laugh

Sunday, March 29th, 2020

I’m still sheltering in Peace here in New Jersey as the world is turning and returning in ever more astounding ways. Yesterday we had a family Zoom meeting that we definitely wouldn’t have had if it weren’t for this virus. My nephew, Alex, is at graduate school in Spain outside of Barcelona and we were celebrating his birthday. We all appreciated the opportunity to connect and say hello to each other across the country and in Europe.

Everywhere, people are realizing how much our connections matter.

Isn’t it interesting that this virus that is seeming to separate us in the physical realm is bringing us together in the heart realm? We’re realizing that our philosophical, political, and religious differences aren’t anywhere near as important as our Love for each other.

Every time I turn on the news, I hear stories of how complete strangers are risking their lives for each other and extending loving kindness.

In adversity, we’re remembering our humanity.

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been focused on work and taking care of the needs of the ministry as well as my own self-care. My biggest adventure in the last two weeks was getting take-out food instead of cooking in. Bringing in take-out is now a whole new experience in this quarantine environment.

My nephew, Benjamin, who has a 3-D printer, is learning how to print personal protection devices such as masks to donate to hospitals. It’s something he can do while home alone and it’s helpful.

Speaking of helpful, f you haven’t seen this helpful video about how to keep safe when bringing in things from the outside world, you might find it helpful. It will also be helpful to pass it along.

I learned some things I didn’t realize.

I do believe that the script is already written, as it says in A Course in Miracles. I recognize that it’s a highly complex script, and my experience of it is continuously shifting based on the choices I’m making.

Making loving choices day in and day out, I feel confident that whatever transpires will be helpful to me and bring benefit to others as well.

As a result of my loving choices, I am unafraid of getting sick or contracting the virus. Yet I’m cautious. For me, the main thing is that I don’t wish to participate in the spread of it.

And yet, I see that there’s an upside to this virus experience. Many people are being forced to stay home with loved ones. It’s always a blessing when we can be together and connect – although it may not feel like it.

As we’ve come to realize, getting triggered emotionally can bring us enormous benefit, if we’re willing to recognize that it’s a cry for Love in our own heart. If we turn to the Higher Holy Spirit Self instead of self-medication, we’ll have healing and transformation.

I can feel how afraid some people are and how challenging it is. That’s why we’re offering more support for the folks in our classes right now, and I’m looking to offer more programs that can be helpful. If you’ve never subscribed to my podcast, you might look it up or go here to learn more – you can search for episodes about fear and that may help you to use spiritual practice to undo the root causes of fear so you’re life is changed forever.

Even this virus is for our good. And it’s so important that we claim that now, especially since whatever the good is, it’s coming with an unprecedented price. We have to trust it is worth it and be vigilant ONLY for Peace.

I feel the good that’s coming is the end of a belief in separation. I can feel that people are opening their hearts like never before. Let’s not judge this situation, let’s open our hearts to the healing it offers us.

Some days when I watch the news and hear the stories of what the medical teams are experiencing, I cannot help but weep for their courage and for the challenge they’re facing. Emotionally, it must be so difficult, especially to nurse patients whose families cannot attend them. Thousands are dying “alone.”

There must be an extraordinary good coming from this.
We must hold in our hearts that there is a great benefit for all.

It may be impossible to get a glimpse of in this moment, and so for now we must have faith whilst being so sweet and caring with ourselves. While we’re home alone, let’s take time each day to count our blessings and extend compassion to others. Let us cultivate these practices of the heart. Especially when we’re afraid.

Fear is the by-product of believing what’s not true and investing our attention in that which is false.

Another option for you to help alleviate fear is to work with one of our Spiritual Counselors. When folks are in my Certification Program they must do 111 sessions as part of their requirements and you can help them by booking a session now. All sessions with a counselor-in-training are offered on a donation basis. Click here to learn more now.

Now more than ever it’s important to hold to our spiritual practices.

Now, more than ever, it’s important to remember to laugh.

Let us take to heart the clear insight and gift that Jesus is offering us in A Course in Miracles:
Miracles represent freedom from fear. “Atoning” means “undoing.” The undoing of fear is an essential part of the Atonement value of miracles. We shall overcome all forms of resistance to the Light. T-1.I.26.

We undo fear with our extending Love and compassion. In this way, we are the salvation of the world. We are the answer.

We pray for the truth to be revealed in our heart and in our mind and for Love to prevail on earth as it is in Heaven because we’re extending it.

We pray to remember to laugh and that everything works together for good.

SOULutions

Saturday, March 28th, 2020

I have dear friends who are committed to ordering food every day. They could cook all their meals, but they can afford to have food delivered so they’re doing it to support their local businesses and they’re spreading that business around. It’s a sweet way to stay connected, involved, and has good food, too!

Yesterday, I went for two, yes TWO, glorious walks in a nearby park and it was lovely. There were two signs that were tacked up on various trees and they are a contrast to each other as well as signs of the times.

The dove of peace artwork is a wonderful thing – like a sweet surprise that someone is sharing, and it makes me think I’d like to do something like that, too.

It’s such a great idea – and a great thing that kids can do and share!

This is a time for interesting and unusual, unexpected things.
We can make them ourselves or simply admire what others are doing.

One of the most important things for us all right now is to be helpful if at all possible. Calling and checking in on people, helping people who are feeling anxious, worried or alone.

We can get groceries for people, and maybe we can just have our groceries delivered – tipping the delivery person is a great way to be helpful.

I’m connecting with lots of people, staying close and organizing more support for the people who share in this ministry. We’re figuring it out. People are stepping up. We’re staying strong and we have moments of anxiety.

It’s valuable to remember that anxiety comes from our opinions and judgments, which are never helpful and always dispensable.

We can give them to the Higher Holy Spirit Self for removal and healing.

In this way we clear space in the one mind for amazing healing SOULutions.

It’s true! When we take out the trash in our own awareness, clearing out the judgments and opinions, we bring benefits to everyone, including the people who are searching for a cure for the disease.

We seek to change our minds about the world by giving up our false impressions and false beliefs.

Today’s a great day to practice!

What are you doing to keep people’s spirits up and spread the Love?

Helpful

Friday, March 27th, 2020

It’s not fair. I could say that, everyone would agree, but I don’t believe life is ever unfair. But it sometimes seems unfair. It seems unfair that just a couple of miles away from me my family has a puppy that I do not get to play with because I’m “quarantined.”

I was in California 12 days ago, and I’m quarantining myself for a minimum of two weeks just to be safe. It feels like the responsible thing to do, even though I feel fine and I’ve felt fine all year.

Yesterday, I went grocery shopping for the family, myself and my brother’s family. It turned out to be a bit epic. It took three hours and two stores, but I managed to get just about everything we needed.

I’m grateful for that, and I’m grateful to be able to be helpful.

My friend who was in the hospital with Coronavirus came home yesterday. I sent his family a tent and tunnel set-up for their little boys to play in to wear them out and give their parents some downtime, and it’s working.

I feel so helpful!

And I’m getting videos of the boys playing in the tent and tunnel gear.

Their joy is helpful to me!

I have a friend who hasn’t been feeling well and we don’t know what’s going on with her, but she’s making it through. Her neighbors have been doing her grocery shopping for her, and she was saying that she felt she ought to start getting her own groceries now that she’s feeling better and it’s been two weeks already.

I said, “Please let them keep getting your groceries for you, even if you can do it. You’re not 100% yet, and they’re sheltering in place so they probably feel SO much better being helpful to YOU. They have to go to the store anyway. Let them help you. You’re helping THEM by letting them help you.

We can help others by letting others help us. Almost everyone likes to be helpful. How are you being helpful? Please share and inspire us with your ideas! We’d love to hear them in the comments below! Thank you!

Good News

Thursday, March 26th, 2020

There is encouraging news mixed in with the tragic news. I’ll share the best news I’ve personally heard in a very long time. My friend Chris, who was taken to the emergency room two weeks ago with what they thought was a bad flu and who was diagnosed with pneumonia, and then later Covid-19, came home from the hospital after 14 days in quarantine. His husband and children are so HAPPY, as am I.

If you’re a person who prays, pray to know that all is well everywhere in this world. If you’re not a prayerful person, just bless everyone. That’s so beneficial to all!

Bless and bless again!

Sometimes, we might hesitate to bless someone we don’t like or feel should be punished. But if we think about it, when we bless those who seem to be generating hardship in our life, we’re helping them to have more clear insight about truth and Love and compassion and things that are helpful to all.

Bottom line: when we bless anyone, we bless everyone because all are connected.

This is so important to remember.

When we bless others, ESPECIALLY those who “despitefully use us” we are helping to undo the belief in separation. When we bless others, we bless ourselves because we’re One with them.

It’s never worth holding a grudge. Not for a single moment. The benefits of extending blessings and compassion are beyond our comprehension, and their are no benefits to holding a grudge.

When we can bless everyone we’re generating good news in our life every day. It will surely bring an increase of good news everywhere.

Let’s BE the blessing and share the blessing. It’s what we’re here for!

Compassion Practice

Wednesday, March 25th, 2020

Today I drove over to the park to go for a long walk on a sunny day that was wonderful. Unfortunately, when I got back to my car my battery was dead. I just haven’t used my car enough while being quarantined at home (not sick, just being responsible) and so I had to call AAA and they came and jumped me. Life. I have compassion for myself for not realizing that I need to drive my car more. I have an old car with an old battery.

I had a nice little chat with the AAA fellow, and I’m grateful for any opportunity I can have to share a little kindness and connection with people. It’s such an intense time that we really can think of these exchanges as an opportunity to make the world a better place and spread some Love.

Let’s not take these exchanges lightly. They’re significant.

You never know when you might be talking with someone who is really terrified and going through something intense. Your kindness might really make a difference in their life. You’ll be so glad you made the most of that opportunity.

I did get to see some beautiful signs of Spring, including a surprisingly large turtle!

I’m so glad I can all still go for walks and practice social distancing.

One of the main things this virus is going to teach is that we need to practice kindness and responsibility – this will keep our vibration up and help us to heal our minds.

We’re all in a fast-track mind healing right now.
None of us can afford to lower our vibration.

Compassion is deeply healing and it can help us to transcend many things.

Practice, practice, practice.

I’ve learned to look at any place in my mind where I’ve been resistant to practicing compassion because I didn’t like something someone said or did.

Now I need to be more committed to my practice than ever, and I’m glad I can be. I’m so glad.

We can practice together and have tremendous healing. Yay, God!

Transforming Terror to Peace

Tuesday, March 24th, 2020

Right now in the world, Covid-19, the Coronavirus, is raging in many places around the world. Countries are locking down. In some places, it’s illegal for people to be on the street with certain exceptions. There are all kinds of new rules and regulations coming into place. Some are to protect the populace and some are questionable invasions of citizen’s rights. Each country is different.

Some people are respecting the rules and warnings and some people are not.

We all have different ideas of what safety feels like, and we all have different trigger points of fear. As the U2 song says, “We’re one, but we’re not the same.” We’re not the same in our opinions and perceptions.

And so, we must respect these differences and have compassion for them.

As Thich Nhat Hanh, one of my teachers, has said, “Blaming never helps.”

A global pandemic is terrifying to a majority of people and we can respect how people feel while not giving in to the terror itself.

Terror, fear, comes from a perspective of wanting to control things that are not controllable.

Fear cannot arise unless attack is justified, and if it had a real foundation pardon would have none. The real world is achieved when you perceive the basis of forgiveness is quite real and fully justified.A Course in Miracles T-30.VI.3.

There will be more temptations to attack, to dispute, to make wrong than normal in this current climate of insecurity. Let’s not be tricked into believing our attack thoughts are correct. Let’s remember that “fear cannot arise unless attack is justified.” Anger and attack are so closely related, and neither is ever justifiable.

We can practice having an awareness of when we’re looking to justify our attack and our anger and lay those thoughts and beliefs on the altar. We invite the Higher Holy Spirit Self in to heal your mind about it. We will have healing as soon as we’re more willing than unwilling.

As soon as we’re more willing to let our belief go than we are willing to be righteous and right about it, the healing has happened.

Let’s go for that. More willingness.

Let’s focus on being willing to be HAPPY.

Right now, people are frightened and people are dying and people are grieving. Let’s not be petty about our grievances. I’d rather be kind to everyone now and be grateful they’re alive to annoy me.

I have a good friend who is in the hospital with this virus for 10 days now. No one can go and visit him. Lots of people are having their loved ones die in the hospital and they cannot be with them. So, if you’re finding yourself losing your patience with your loved ones, be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL they are there with you now. Raise yourself up by reaching for the Higher Holy Spirit Self. Don’t allow your vibration to fall down.

We’ll get through this and we have to do it together. LOVE is our healer. Not medicine, not food, not ventilators. LOVE.

How willing are you to practice radical patience right now? Please share in the comments below.

Fear Antidote

Monday, March 23rd, 2020

My mother passed away 12 years ago, but I notice that I’m missing her during this crisis. I say this because if you’re feeling nostalgic or missing people, or feeling triggered back to when 9/11 occurred, that’s normal.

A lot of people are going to be triggered and have PTSD experiences now and we can be mindful of that.

Let’s take extra care with each other and be extra kind. And these are the kinds of stories I’m hearing from my friends. They’re talking about how their neighbors are checking in with them and helping each other. This is one of the benefits of a time like this.

There are also stories of race-baiting and fear-mongering.

There are stories of people endangering other people in order to flaunt their fearlessness. This is a time when we are going to see people who are doing things that seem crazy. That’s what fearful thinking does to people, it makes them behave in crazy ways.

The antidote to fear is compassion.

Compassion is both Love and understanding and that combination is deeply healing. It heals our hearts and it heals others as well.

“Make way for love, which you did not create, but which you can extend. On earth this means forgive your brother, that the darkness may be lifted from your mind. When the light has come to him through your forgiveness, he will not forget his savior, leaving him unsaved.” T-29.III.4.

We are the ones who are saved when we forgive. When we relinquish our judgments, we are the ones who are redeemed and restored. In this way, our brothers and sisters are our saviors always.

Choosing to be grateful for our saviors rather than despise them is what we can learn to do.

“Forgive them, Father, they know not what they do.”

Extending compassion redeems us, it cleans out our heart, it refreshes our mind. When we have no judgments there’s nothing to forgive.
Let’s not bother with resentment anymore. Let’s not huff and puff and blow our house down. Let’s cultivate true humility and extend Love and compassion to those who haven’t appreciated us in the past.

Just think, if you had behaved poorly, unkindly, meanly, fearfully, would you wish for people to forgive you and extend compassion? Of course you would! To have, give all to all. Let’s see them with new eyes and be that truly helpful presence in this world.

Who can you extend compassion to today? Let’s get on it and make a difference!

Ridding the world of fear is a great goal!

United

Sunday, March 22nd, 2020

I’m sheltering in Peace here in New Jersey and I send you greetings of Love this Sunday morning.

There are a number of questions that I get frequently, over and over again for people who are deeply trying to understand how to live and apply these teaching of A Course in Miracles. The most common question I get is “how do I remember to practice.”

I get it. Things happen and we are forgetful.
We get triggered by something and we forget our intentions and aspirations.

One of the things I share about in my classes is that instead of limiting our spiritual practice to a certain amount of time in the morning, let’s make it all day every day. I was surprised at how quickly I could learn to do that even a little bit.

Make it a habit.

You probably learned to make brushing your teeth a habit.
You probably have a habit of what you drink first thing in the morning.

If you have a dog, you probably have a habit of letting the dog out to do its business.
If you have a cat, you have a habit of feeding that cat.

You learned those habits because they became important to you.
If that’s true, then you know you have what it takes to make something important enough to you to do it consistently.

You can make your spiritual practice as important or more important this way:

If you awake to an alarm – many do and many use their phone – set the phone alarm to a song that will remind you to think about practicing first thing.

Put a piece of paper on your pillow, so that you see it before you go to bed to remind you to think about practicing before you to go to bed and use this affirmation:

I am here only to be truly helpful.
Spirit, please show me in my dreams,
how to be truly helpful.
Angels, please wake me in the morning with the intention:
I am here only to be truly helpful.

You can click here to listen to the chant that James Twyman made for us on Youtube:

You can listen to it on your smart phone before you to to sleep.
You can listen to it when you wake up.
You can chant along as you let the dog out and feed the cat, and make your morning coffee, etc.

“You can do much on behalf of your own healing and that of others if, in a situation calling for help, you think of it this way:
I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him Who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do,
because He Who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes,
knowing He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.”

A Course in Miracles T-2.V.A.18.

Right now, our whole lives are calling for help, calling for assistance. It’s time for us to stop going it alone. We must remember the unity of all life and stand in that awareness. We’re one, not many.

On a very practical level, we all do better if we’re working together and getting help from each other. There’s an endless, infinite amount of help from the invisible. Let’s invite it in.

Each day, many times a day I ask Spirit to show me the way.
Let me see and know and feel and hear the truth more clearly.
My practice of gratitude lifts my awareness up to where I can perceive clearly.
This supports me in being truly helpful.

I also love music, and this is a song that has brought me to tears of gratitude more times than I can remember. You can find it on iTunes or wherever you get your music. My Soul Sings Out by Susan J. Paul

Here she is singing it live with friends on YouTube:

There are various versions of it and I recommend the original by Susan J. Paul who wrote the song. It’s not just the song, it’s her voice. She was sick with cancer for a long time, and there’s something healing in her voice.

Susan has passed away, but her Spirit is so fully in this song, you cannot help but feel the grace of God. I encourage you to sing along and make that decision to dedicate your life to being truly helpful.

Let us sing for the thousands of people whose loved ones have passed.

Let us open our hearts and extend compassion to them and know that we are all one. They are not alone, those who cannot bury their dead or gather in mourning, they may seem to be alone, but they are not.

We sing for those in Iran, whose families seem to be being buried in mass graves so large you can see them from space. We sing for those who are dying at home because there are no hospital beds, and no nearby medical services.

We sing for the people in government and in medicine who are working so hard to serve, and we sing for those who are acting from personal greed and fear to open their hearts in compassion.

If we’re willing to be truly helpful,
Spirit will show us the way.

I have learned not to believe I know what’s best,
And to have no attachments to my plans.

Instead, I ask again and again and I am shown each day.
We have free will to say no, or yes.
It’s our choice, always.

To be helpful is why every day I write inspiration and record a prayer to go with it. You can join me in cultivating the willingness that raises us ALL up so we can be truly helpful in this world. Please share my daily prayer with anyone who would find it helpful.

You can subscribe to my daily inspiration if you haven’t already.

Use every tool you. have.

Lesson #25 of A Course in Miracles is “I do not know what anything is for.”

I may not understand what this virus is for on so many levels, but on a spiritual level it is working together for our good. It has to be. Somehow, someway, that is truth and our job is to know it. Not just believe it, but know it and affirm it every day. In this way, we can be truly helpful.

If you’ve been only half-answering the call to Love, now is the time to fully align with the divine.

We will get through this time and we will have more clarity than ever.
We’ll do it together.
It’s the only way.

At the Power of Love Ministry, folks in Masterful Living are going to be offering daily prayer times on Zoom and on facebook live. You can get notified if you’re following my page for Prayer for Today at facebook. And we’ll also send out an email with times.

Let us take to heart the clear guidance and gift that Jesus is offering us in A Course in Miracles:

I was a man who remembered spirit and its knowledge.
As a man I did not attempt to counteract error with knowledge,
but to correct error from the bottom up.
I demonstrated both the powerlessness of the body
and the power of the mind.
By uniting my will with that of my Creator,
I naturally remembered spirit and its real purpose.
I cannot unite your will with God’s for you,
but I can erase all misperceptions from your mind
if you will bring it under my guidance.

Only your misperceptions stand in your way.
Without them your choice is certain.
Sane perception induces sane choosing.
I cannot choose for you,
but I can help you make your own right choice.
“Many are called but few are chosen” should be,
“All are called but few choose to listen.”
Therefore, they do not choose right.
The “chosen ones” are merely those who choose right sooner.
Right minds can do this now,
and they will find rest unto their souls.
God knows you only in peace,
and this is your reality.”
T-3.IV.7.

We shall overcome all forms of resistance to the Light. We pray for the truth to be revealed in our heart and in our mind and for love to prevail on earth as it is in heaven. We are united!

We don’t have time to be afraid. It’s not a good use of time. Time can be used for healing our minds. We seek not to change the world, but to heal the world, by healing our minds so we can extend Love and eradicate fear.

In Spirit, there are no boundaries,
There are no countries.
There are no races,
We are united.

It’s time to get to work.
Everything we need is within us.
We will do it together – its the only way.
United we stand.
Divided we fail.

No more fighting. Just working.
Knowing the truth.
Living in Love.
Being truly helpful.

If you become upset by something,
Go back to your purpose:
“I AM HERE only to be truly helpful.”

We cannot fail, because Spirit cannot fail and we are pure Spirit.
United we stand. One in Spirit.
The Power of Love is awake and alive in our hearts and we have all we need to succeed.

All boats rise on this tide of Love.

As God would have it, I am leading an online retreat in a couple of weeks, this was planned months ago. The retreat is for people who are healing and recovering from sexual abuse. Click here to learn more now.

Sheltering in Peace

Saturday, March 21st, 2020

I returned to New Jersey from Los Angeles this past Monday and I’ve been sheltering in place ever since. Even though my family is just a few miles away, I haven’t been to see them and I won’t go to see them because I don’t have a way to be tested for Covid-19. It’s entirely possible that I’ve been exposed while traveling, and it could possibly incubate for weeks without me having a clue. I’d rather be safe.

As an A Course in Miracles student, I know this: my script has already been written. Your script has already been written. All the possibilities for our lives are written into our script the way that all the possibilities are written into a video game script. We cannot change that script, but it’s vast. As with a video game, no one knows how we’ll play it.

In each and every moment we have the opportunity to choose Love.

The more we choose loving thoughts and actions, the more we open up the higher, more loving and harmonious aspects of our script AND the more we open up to new and sometimes intense challenges to help us increase and awaken our awareness even more.

The more we choose fearful thoughts and choices, the more we open up opportunities to learn through pain and suffering.

We can choose to learn through pain or Joy.

It’s our free-will choice.
We get to decide.

Mostly I choose to learn through Joy, but not always. I’m more consistent and I’m grateful for that.

I am choosing not to be afraid, and I’m also choosing to be responsible and not reckless. The protocols are quickly changing in this world, at least for now, and I am staying home, isolated in the physical realm by myself, but I have so many people I’m interacting with on Zoom and on the phone that I am feeling very connected with people. I’m actually talking with friends more often right now because it’s more important right now. What are you doing more of right now, besides praying?

I know that people are feeling worried and afraid, and so I’m working on things we can do to support people where they are.

I don’t feel worried and afraid, because I absolutely know that if I were to get sick that it would be in my script and it would be for my highest and best.

Being sick would present a series of forgiveness lessons that would be greatly beneficial, even if I didn’t like them.

I’m truly interested in the maximum growth opportunity, even though I must confess I don’t always choose it. Sometimes I shrink back and choose to avoid. Some days I feel stronger than others. Some days I have more dedication than others.

What I’m grateful to see is that every day I’m making more and more loving choices and that I am constantly feeling more free of ego thoughts, control, and manipulation. I rarely get bothered or upset, and when I do it’s usually quite fleeting.

If you feel something coming toward you in your script that you don’t like, make a change in your thinking. Call upon the Higher Holy Spirit Self and rise UP in your awareness by making as many loving choices as you possibly can. Don’t let it just come toward you and run you over – Partner UP and get help. Our mind is the Mind of God – we aren’t victims!

I’m looking at how we can offer my Finding Freedom From Fear Boot Camp sometime soon for those who are feeling really challenged by fear right now. If you’re feeling afraid, consider listening to my free podcast, A Course in Miracles. Consider subscribing, and you can search for topics that will support you at this time. There’s about 440 episodes, plenty of choices!

You can also subscribe to the Podcast of my Prayer for Today and you’ll have hundred of prayers to choose from – one for every occasion. Prayer works.

People tell me often that they fall asleep listening to me, and I’m not offended. I have the intention that my voice is soothing and inspiring, so if it soothes you to sleep that’s a good thing.

I’ve been thinking of making a recording of me whispering positive thoughts that someone could listen to as they fall asleep – would that interest you? I’m looking to be helpful. If that would be helpful, or any other thing you think I could offer, please suggest it in the comments below or email it to me at admin@jenniferhadley.com

Thank you!

Friends with Coronavirus

Friday, March 20th, 2020

I have a friend whose husband who came down with a bad case of the flu. When things got REALLY bad, he took his beloved to the hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and tested for Covid-19. A couple of days later, they got the test results back and it turns out he’s got the virus.

And he’s doing better since being in the hospital. Phew! He’ll be there another week at least, minimum 14 days, but he’s mending and that’s great.

My friend is home with their two little boys under the age of 5. It’s rough because they can’t go out and no one can come in, a whole new concept of home alone with kids. Imagine not being able to go out and play, having to be in a smallish apartment with little ones for weeks without a break. We have no idea how long they’ll be quarantined.

I’ve sent them a play tent with two crawl tunnels and I hope it will help wear them out and entertain them for hours. I wish I’d thought of it last week – it can’t get there soon enough!

I know others that have had symptoms but can’t get tested. They’re getting better, too. Phew!

In Masterful Living classes this week we’ve been talking about how we can reach out to people we know who might be having a tough time. I invite you to make a list of people that you can check in on and see how they’re doing. You never know when your phone call might make all the difference in the world to them.

Most of us know someone who doesn’t have a lot of family who lives alone, who is older, and in this kind of a situation they become isolated.

Someone without a spiritual practice, watching the news all day home alone, can really be way too much for them mentally and emotionally.

Who can you reach out to and check on?

Maybe it’s an aunt or a cousin that you hardly ever talk to. Get out your address book and start seeing what people are up to.

Make a list and get started connecting with them.

In Masterful Living we all have Zoom accounts. Get a free Zoom account and start having Zoom parties.

I have 4 Prayer Partners that meet with me every week on the phone. We’ve been doing it for about 13 or 14 years. Every now and then we have a special meeting and meet on Zoom. This week we did that and it was so good just to see each other.

I had a family meeting on Zoom with my brother, his wife, my niece and my nephew in one place, my nephew in Spain, my nephew in California, my Dad and his wife in North Carolina, and me. It was great!

My nephew, Ben, in California was quite despondent about the Bernie Sanders campaign, so I made my dad tell us all stories about campaigning in the 60s. My nephews had never heard these stories and it was great! (I’m encouraging him to work for the brilliant and beautiful Rep. Katie Porter who is his local rep.)

There was a beautiful moment when my dad got really choked up, remembering what those times were like for him and my mother. He told stories of my mother working for social justice and pushing me in the baby carriage. I remember being in marches against the Vietnam war with my mother, mothers and daughters marching on Mother’s Day. My nephews were so impressed, genuinely, and that was beautiful.

I am an instigator. I’m an activator. I feel compelled to see how I can be helpful.

It’s who I am.

And we’ve all got the same life purpose: to be TRULY helpful.

For many people, these times will be the most difficult times in their lives.

And we need to think of them right now and how we can help them.

This is the time of extreme pressure that forces people to get real and decide, are they going to change and grow or keep resisting? It will be very intense for many.

Let’s vow not to judge anyone and have compassion for everyone, even the ones who hoard toilet paper, even the ones who hoard protective masks when the healthcare workers have none. Judge no one, Love everyone.

We can do this – if we work together!

Inspired by a Virus

Thursday, March 19th, 2020

Alright, all you poets! Now is a great time to inspire us with your insights! A Capuchin Franciscan Brother Richard Hendrick’s poem “Lockdown” went viral, and this St. Patrick’s Day we can see why.

Brother Richard Hendrick, a Capuchin Franciscan living in Ireland, has penned a touching poem about the Coronavirus.

He shared his poem “Lockdown” in a Facebook post on Friday, March 13.

Lockdown

They say that in Wuhan after so many years of noise
You can hear the birds again.
They say that after just a few weeks of quiet
The sky is no longer thick with fumes
But blue and grey and clear.
They say that in the streets of Assisi
People are singing to each other
across the empty squares,
keeping their windows open
so that those who are alone
may hear the sounds of family around them.
They say that a hotel in the West of Ireland
Is offering free meals and delivery to the housebound.
Today a young woman I know
is busy spreading fliers with her number
through the neighbourhood
So that the elders may have someone to call on.
Today Churches, Synagogues, Mosques and Temples
are preparing to welcome
and shelter the homeless, the sick, the weary
All over the world people are slowing down and reflecting
All over the world people are looking at their neighbours in a new way
All over the world people are waking up to a new reality
To how big we really are.
To how little control we really have.
To what really matters.
To Love.

So we pray and we remember that
Yes there is fear.
But there does not have to be hate.
Yes there is isolation.
But there does not have to be loneliness.
Yes there is panic buying.
But there does not have to be meanness.
Yes there is sickness.
But there does not have to be disease of the soul
Yes there is even death.
But there can always be a rebirth of love.
Wake to the choices you make as to how to live now.
Today, breathe.
Listen, behind the factory noises of your panic
The birds are singing again
The sky is clearing,
Spring is coming,
And we are always encompassed by Love.
Open the windows of your soul
And though you may not be able
to touch across the empty square,
Sing.

We’re standing for a rebirth of Love in our hearts.

We seek not to change the world but to change our minds about it, and to see that God has a plan that includes more Peace, more Love, and more Joy and we’re willing to allow it to be revealed in our hearts so we can share it with the world.

Immune Booster

Wednesday, March 18th, 2020

This was first posted on February 28th, and is being posted again because so many people said it was helpful to them. Please share with others if you feel it can support them at this time. Thank you!

With all talk of the Coronavirus, how about some information about how to boost our immune system with ease and grace?

I remember years ago having Marci Shimoff tell me in a Living A Course in Miracles class that HeartMath Institute had done research about boosting your immune system with some simple techniques that many of us spiritual students already know about, and there were some interesting side notes.

In the study, subjects were asked to intentionally extend care and compassion for five minutes. Then a few days later, they were asked to feel angry about something that bothered them and to trigger that upset.

In each case, after five minutes of either being loving or angry, they could see the results in the subjects’ immune systems.

The loving subjects had their immune system boosted immediately by an average of 41%.

After an hour they returned to normal, but then slowly increased over the next 6 hours. Wow!

Most surprisingly, the students who were angry got an 18% immune boost, but an hour later their immune response had dropped to HALF what it was before they were angry – so a very significant repercussion. Six hours later, their immune system was still depressed.

Here’s another interesting fact — some of the subjects were shown a video of Mother Theresa and their immune system increased as much as 240% IMMEDIATELY.

So, what Marci told me back then is that a little bit of spiritual practice – 5 minutes of extending Love and compassion – will boost our immune system for six hours, and getting angry and upset will depress our immune system for more than six hours.

I would bet, but I have to know what to prove it or confirm, that the people who got angry and were able to fully release their judgment that was causing the anger would see a different immune response.

Many people stew on their anger, and that would, in my estimation, be the cause of the longer-term immune effects.

Be loving, be strong.
Focus on unloving, fearful thoughts and you’ll literally weaken yourself.

I used to teach spin classes in Los Angeles, and I told people that if it seemed really hard, think of someone you really Love with all your heart and no conditions and it will give you the strength to get through that tough part – and so will projecting Love and compassion to others.

Love is the Power.
Love is the healer.
Love is what we are!

Accepting the Unacceptable

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

Not being able to accept what’s actually happening can be a very intense experience. When I knew my mother was not going to live much longer, I had to accept it. That was what was happening, and while I didn’t wish for her to leave this world, I couldn’t stop it. I had to accept it.

We all have had experiences where we very resistant to accepting something that felt unacceptable to us.

We rejected it on principle.

There are times when we are intensely challenged because we love someone who doesn’t want to have anything to do with us. Or, perhaps they care for us, but not in “that way” and so we have to accept how they feel.

There are many experiences in life that are intensely challenging to the ego that we can find so difficult to accept.

There’s power in accepting what is.

Even so, we don’t have to like what is. We just have to accept that “it is what it is.”

When we can accept what is without ascribing value to it, without making it wrong or right, bad, or good, then we’re moving into a place of holding things in our mind without judgment, which means we can learn how to see them objectively and correctly.

This is deeply healing.

When I cannot accept something, it becomes like a splinter in my mind, agitating and irritating.

Non-acceptance is like that sore tooth that you can’t stop running your tongue over to see if it still hurts. Acceptance brings relief, but when we don’t like something, we’d rather be in the pain of constantly rejecting it than move into the Peace that acceptance can bring.

Our ego attachment to being SO RIGHT about HOW WRONG something is can actually drain off years of our life spent invested in distress, irritation, resentment, regret, guilt, blame, and shame.

That’s no way to live.

Today on my podcast, I’m going to talk about accepting the unacceptable so that we can take our power back and use our time, attention, and energy more wisely. Let’s invest in something that actually brings us benefits!

I’m so grateful for this spiritual practice of A Course in Miracles! It brings me Peace every day even in the midst of great disturbances! Victory!

Heroes of Healing

Monday, March 16th, 2020

One of the things I began to learn right away as a Spiritual Counselor was that I can actually help other people have miraculous healing. How? By seeing them correctly.

Whenever we’re willing to affirm the truth, witness truth, and celebrate truth, there is healing.

This is gratifying work. We can walk in the world as secret agent superheroes, blessing everyone we meet and bringing real benefit, if we choose.

Today, let us be heroes of healing.

Through our ability and capacity to extend Love, we become the healers that we were designed to be. That’s why Love feels so good to us. It’s our opportunity to be in alignment with the Divine, our own True Self.

We are designed to facilitate the healing of our own mind and that of our brothers and sisters.

A Course in Miracles tells us that all healing, whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, financial, etheric, spiritual or whatever, all healing is at the level of our thinking, the level of the mind.

All healing is essentially the release from fear. To undertake this you cannot be fearful of yourself. You do not understand healing because of your own fear.A Course in Miracles, T-2.IV.

It’s so wonderful that when we choose healing, the whole world is sharing in our healing.

Our choice is this powerful. Power-FULL.

Our choices make a difference to everyone, not just ourselves, they are potent and powerful.

Calling All Miracle Workers

Sunday, March 15th, 2020

These interesting times are the ones that we came here for. I know that anyone who is reading this e-mail decided to incarnate at this particular time for the purpose of being able to be a beneficial presence at this time. Let us not shirk our opportunity. Let’s dive into holding the high watch of remembering the truth, despite ALL appearances.

Now is the time for spiritual students to commit to being a TRULY helpful day in and day out. Spirit will guide us in the HOW of it if we’re willing to ALLOW ourselves to be led and guided. Let us step up and be of service to the Light.

The best way that we can be of service is not to be afraid. How do we do that? We don’t judge things, we accept them as they are.

After all, why wouldn’t we when we know that everything works together for good and there are no exceptions? Let us not start making exceptions and finding fault.

Let us choose Love and answer the cries for Love with compassion.

The more we practice, the more helpful we are.

The truly helpful are invulnerable
because they are not protecting their egos
and so nothing can hurt them.

~ A Course in Miracles

Let us be miracle-minded and miracle workers.

A miracle is a service. It is the maximal service you can render to another. It is a way of loving your neighbor as yourself. You recognize your own and your neighbor’s worth simultaneously.” A Course in Miracles, Miracles Principle #18

Look, I know it’s challenging to not make the world real when the intensity of density is amping up, but it’s for this time that we were born. This is the perfect time for us to REALLY go for it. This is the time of our liberation, and we have everything we need within us to accomplish it when we put the Higher Holy Spirit Self in charge.

This is precisely why, every day, I write inspiration and record a prayer to go with it. You can join me in cultivating the willingness that raises us ALL up so we can be truly helpful in this world. Please share my daily prayer with anyone who would find it helpful. The prayers are also available in a podcast.

We shall overcome all forms of resistance to the Light.

We pray for the truth to be revealed in our hearts and in our minds and for love to prevail on Earth as it is in Heaven. We are united!

Choosing Peace

Saturday, March 14th, 2020

I posted on Facebook last weekend that I was hearing the song “Let It Be” playing in my heart, and I am still hearing it.

When I find myself in times of trouble,
Mother Mary comes to me
speaking words of wisdom,
“Let it be.”
And in my hour of darkness,
she is standing right in front of me.
“Let it be, let it be, let it be.”
Whisper words of wisdom,
“Let it be.”

We can let Love be the truth of our being and then forget every other story we made up.

We can be of service in this world.

This is not a message of being passive. It sounds like it is, but it’s not. We can actively let it be.

We can actively be aligned in choosing Peace and serving Spirit.

“The mind that serves spirit is invulnerable.” A Course in Miracles

If you’d like to FEEL invulnerable and actually BE invulnerable in this world, consider serving the Light from the Light of your being.

In other words, serve because there’s nothing you’d rather do, not because you’re looking to get something. It’s already been given.

Moving into that place of invulnerability is worth everything that we can put into it. It’s a way that we can be proactive for God.

We can liberate this way – through choosing to serve humanity and Spirit.

We feel vulnerable because we feel guilty about the past, and we can change our minds about it.

Whenever we actively choose to be of service we’re going to feel more aligned and better about ourselves. That’s worthwhile and that’s being of service to all of humanity!
