Spiritual Phenomenon

Friday, September 18th, 2020

Real change is lasting change. Real change is actually letting go of that which obscures our true identity expressing in this world. Real change is eliminating the false beliefs, habits, mental and emotional patterns that keep us repeating the past.

I’ve always been interested in movies, stories and television shows about exploring. I particularly find it interesting to look at things related to shifting dimensions of time and space. I find that when I’m watching these kinds of stories the Higher Holy Spirit Self inspires me in many ways. All kinds of insights about how to heal my mind come flashing through. It’s cool!

A couple of years ago I was in Germany with several beautiful folks who are in classes with me, we had a talk about spiritual phenomenon. I shared that I’m not interested in phenomenon, which might seem like a complete contradiction about what I said about enjoying entertaining stories about shifting dimensions of time and space.

Allow me to explain further.

I am interested in two things:
Attaining enlightenment, waking up and living as an awakened being, walking in this world as a Bodhisattva, dedicated to living and demonstrating endless compassion
Supporting other people who are interested in waking up.

That’s what’s important to me.

Phenomenon isn’t a part of that journey, although certainly, I experience interesting phenomenon from time to time.

I’ve experienced time speeding up and slowing down. I’ve experienced things disappearing and reappearing. I’ve experienced being invisible. All kinds of things, but it’s only valuable to me if it helps me to awaken and let go of a false identification with a false self.

Real change is when we forgive ourselves for the decisions we made based upon our opinions and judgements from the past. That’s the ONLY thing I know that brings REAL and lasting change.

Self-forgiveness is the one thing that brings permanent healing and change.

And, I see that the most dedicated spiritual students will spend many years studying all kinds of spiritual teachings, trying to memorize the names of archangels, ascended masters, and gathering information, while avoiding actually doing the forgiveness work. And that’s why I stay focused on supporting people actually staying focused on the work that is meaningful and life-changing. It’s so challenging to stay focused, at least it used to be for me. It really was the hardest thing I ever did!

I learned how to stay focused because I made the decision to have a healing. I became determined to not give up and stay focused and still it was challenging for me. This is why creating opportunities for consistent, authentic, non-judgmental support is the focus of my life.

When we forgive ourselves now for the mis-takes of the past, then we unlock the wisdom that was hidden in the events of the past. We cannot unlock the wisdom, the value, the energetic rocket boosters encoded into our past without the self-forgiveness.

Blaming others prevents us from learning.
Defending ourselves is not the best use of our energy and time.
There is nothing to defend.
All attack, is an illusion.
When our heart is open, there can be no attack.

It takes willingness to see that and feel it.

When we forgive ourselves now for the mis-takes of the past, then we unlock the wisdom that was hidden in the events of the past, and with that wisdom now unfolding in our heart, we make different choices now, and that not only changes the present moment, it changes the future.

In this way we are time travelers.
When we forgive, we energetically travel back in time and change the past.
The past shifts.
The past goes from being a burden we carry to being a gift we can share with others, and the light is revealed.

Now is the time, now is the time, now is the time!
Now is the time for us to change our mind and stop dragging the burdens of the past around.

We’re not meant to play small, and that’s why it’s so painful for us.

Transcending Hurtful Impulses

Sunday, August 23rd, 2020

Yesterday I had the 20-year reunion of my Science of Mind Practitioner class from Agape. We graduated in 2000 and we had about half of our class joining together on zoom – it was a blast to hear everyone sharing and catch up on our lives.

One of the things that I shared is that I feel how blessed we are – like many spiritual students, we’ve trained for many years to meet this moment we’re in right now. All of the work we’ve done to be spiritually prepared is helping us, our families, friends and communities, get through this time we’re in.

One of the things that’s coming clear to all of us is that if we’d like to be truly helpful in this world by living the Love, walking the talk and giving up the feeling of fear and constriction, then making higher vibrational choices is the thing that supports us most.

Many of us go through long periods, many, many years, of self-medication and self-sabotage before we become willing to make higher vibrational choices. Often we think that the spiritual path requires us to go cold turkey on our “bad” habits and that we must control our impulses and deprive ourselves, and I’ve felt that way, for sure.

If we view the path of healing as a path of deprivation, sublimation and regulation, it can feel very painful and here’s the most painful part: with that method of trying to control ourselves, we’re healing at SUCH a slow pace because we’re actually putting the ego in charge of our healing, rather than the Spirit. It’s just one of the many ways we keep playing small, and avoiding stepping into our connection with Spirit more fully.

I struggled for decades trying to manage and control my impulses ALL DAY LONG.

I had impulses to be mean and rude and unkind.

I had impulses to do many things too much:
eating, drinking, smoking, talking, gossiping, playing, exercising, and on and on.

More was always better because I was looking to medicate and sedate myself, to distract myself from what I was feeling.

It took me decades to realize that my feelings were the indicator of whether or not I was on the right track.

I wasn’t honoring my feelings, I was trying to push them down and NOT feel them. I didn’t know that learning to sit with my feelings was so self-loving and that being self-loving would lift my vibration and heal my life.

Love is what we ARE.
That’s why Love is the ONLY permanent healer.
Everything else is temporary.

We learn not to fan the fire of our upset, out of self-Love.

We can learn to let the judgments and opinions go. Judgments and opinions are our interpretations and if they’re upsetting to us they’re not correct, they’re not helpful, they’re not loving.

Fanning the fire of our upset is unkind. I learned this because I was upset so much of the time and I wanted everyone to validate me by joining me so we could all be upset together. I invested many years of my life in learning how pointless that is.

Upsetting other people was one of the most low vibrational choices I could make. It was “dragging people down with me.” And deep down, I knew it was just affirming my own feelings of “I’m bad and wrong, not worthy of Love.”

I often went into self-medication of fantasy as an escape from my painful feelings. I had so many low vibrational choices to either punish myself or escape from how I felt about myself. I didn’t know that I was digging a deeper low vibrational hole for myself. I was unhappy in the illusion, so I was trying to escape by going deeper into it through fantasy. It made me feel even more lost in time and space.

Finally, because of my prayers and my willingness, I began to discover that consistently looking for even a SLIGHTLY higher vibrational choice, I could find my way out of my own personal hell.

The slightly more loving choices I began to make, day after day, built up my increasing willingness. I began to be excited to look for the more loving and higher vibrational choices. It stopped feeling like a drag to “have” to be more loving. Instead of pushing myself, and berating myself into making more loving choices (just think of that! LOL!) I was noticing the feeling of the vibrational shift and I liked it! I was feeling SO MUCH better about myself.

My impulses to self-medicate were diminishing and I was really shifting.

I came to a point where I decided to go all-in for God.

One thing that helped me was learning to sense if what I was doing felt violent in any way. If it felt like it was being unkind in any way, that would be the vibration that would let me know, it’s an opportunity to make a higher vibrational choice.

I learned to ask for guidance.
Listen for the response.
Allow my Self to choose it. And allow Spirit to make it so.

Ask. Listen. Allow.

This is the time for us to focus on being truly helpful.
Our mind, focused on healing, is what helps all our brothers and sisters who are suffering so much. Our choices make a HUGE difference in this world.

SO much is possible for us – when we’re willing.
Each one of us has the potential to bring tremendous benefit – beyond anything we can imagine, because we share the same mind, and when one is lifted all are lifted.

If you’re ready to make a change, and you’d like some REAL support to make a LASTING change, TAKE ACTION! If you’re interested in either my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat or Finding Freedom From Fear Online Spiritual Bootcamp, but you aren’t sure if either is right for you right now, book an Exploratory Call with one of the spiritual counselors. Change It UP!

Friday, July 31st, 2020

For a couple of years, I’ve not had a home of my own and it’s been a continuous adventure in releasing attachments and living in the flow – which is so healing for my mind. I’ve had long periods of “homelessness” and I stopped calling it that because people would write to me with concern and invite me to come and stay with them. There’s the thought that being homeless is a “bad” thing and while it can definitely be challenging, it can also be liberating!

My having been “on the road” and without a home base challenges some people. I have the same conversation over and over:

Someone asks, “Where do you live?”
I say, “I live wherever I am.”

“So, you live here?”
“I do, for this week, day month.”

“Where’s your home?”
“I don’t have a home.”

“But where’s your home base?”
“I don’t have a home base.”

“Well, where’s your stuff?”
“I can tell you where my stuff is, but why do you need to know where my stuff is?”

And then they usually say something like “I’m just trying to understand.” For a lot of people, it’s challenging for them to wrap their mind around – and I understand that. It’s not usual.

People might wander for a time, but not usually for years. And since people don’t usually wander for years, they have a home base.

They wonder why I would choose this way of living OR they think it’s exciting and wonderful.

I don’t feel like I chose it. I feel like it was guidance and I’m following along.

Moving around and being in different places and environments, traveling with a little or a lot of stuff is a constant practice of non-attachment.

I feel my mind healing so rapidly through this higher intensity of practicing non-attachment because It’s harder to settle into routines and to get attached to how things are. It’s definitely easier to stay in one place and know exactly where everything is.

I don’t enjoy packing and unpacking.
I do enjoy the spiritual healing and growth.

We can practice non-attachment wherever we are and it’s deeply healing.

I HIGHLY recommend it. It’s so helpful to notice each day where the attachments to routine are and to make the effort to relax the mind and let them go and try new things.

Experimenting is a wonderful spiritual practice of discovery!

I encourage you to pay attention to the “should” that still dominate your thinking. Examine the patterns of behavior that you have a strong attachment to. Look for your attachments to how you like things to be and how you don’t like them to be and be willing to just do things differently for a day, a week, a month. You’ll discover things you cannot possibly discover any other way.

And the bonus is, you’ll be giving yourself the opportunity to release more attachments more rapidly! Nice!

2nd MAJOR bonus is that not doing the same things in the same way in the same place all the time keeps you present in the moment.

Sleep on a different side of the bed.
Use a different toothpaste.
Go to bed and wake up at a different time.
Try something different for breakfast.
Take a different route to or from work.
Listen to a different kind of music.

If it feels really challenging then know that your healing awaits you! What a relief to let go of attachments! It’s absolutely liberating!

What attachments from your daily living do you notice that you could let go and experience a greater Freedom? Please share in the comments section!

Do you have the willingness to change it UP?

Together Forever

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2020

Because we’re all part of God, we’re together forever. Eternally one with each other.

I find this awareness particularly helpful when there’s a great sense of loss and grief, and when we don’t feel connected to someone we dearly Love. I remind myself that I cannot possibly BE separate from my loved ones, I can only FEEL separate – and that feeling will pass.

One of the most beautiful aspects of our life in Spirit is that we’re not alone – ever.

We’re interconnected and interdependent. With each other. With Spirit. With Angels and all manner of helpful beings. And, whether we like it or not. Without a cooperative effort much of life would be unbearable and yet there are many times when I’ve felt momentarily resistant to being cooperative.

One of the primary ways I’ve experienced the ego identification is when I’ve felt that belligerence rise up within me and I’ve refused to cooperate. When I was younger, I felt it all the time. That haughty, resistant, argumentative attitude was one of the ways that I would reclaim my power when I felt a lack of power. I’d try to regain my power Now I know better.

Opening my heart to collaboration and cooperation is my power!

When we work together, we are so much stronger than when we work alone.

Working together we can form a collective intelligence that is far greater and more powerful than anything I could create alone. It can also be far more satisfying.

These days, I prefer to be a bridge builder and a collaborator. The blessings are enormous and I am grateful every day!

A powerful daily spiritual practice is to find one significant way you can cooperate more effectively with the people in your family, your workplace, school or community.

Look for the ways that you can be supportive, extending compassion and let those things replace the criticisms and complaints. This is a powerful spiritual practice that heals our mind of lack, limitation and separation.
By being willing to cooperate I build a bridge. As I walk across the bridge, I bring with me an offering of my heart. By a simple act such as this I make the world a more peaceful place and that’s being truly helpful.

It’s not so hard to fulfill your purpose when you know your purpose is simply to Love and be loved.

Being able to model this purpose is healing to all. In a time of intense divisiveness and seeming differences, being a peacemaker is a great skill that we can hone and demonstrate. I’m so grateful we can be helpful instead of helpless!

Vision of Relationship Healing

Tuesday, July 21st, 2020

In every relationship, there’s a vision of holiness that can be revealed.

When we give up on other people, we’re also giving up on ourselves.  And yet, when people are so disappointing and difficult, it’s so tempting to walk away from them.  Giving up, quitting, that’s the easy thing to do, in the short run.  In the long run, it will become a weight that’s not worth carrying.

So, what to do?  I get this question a lot.

Consider this:  We’re all one with each other.  And, we’re all eternal.  Therefore, it stands to reason that our relationships are eternal as well.  So, while we can certainly SEEM to walk away and end a relationship in this lifetime, it’s only temporary.

Why settle for a temporary solution that will only make things more challenging in the future?  Why build into your future a challenge you’ll have to deal with that will be fermenting the entire time between now and then?

How to deal with it in the present moment?  Well, you don’t have to keep talking with the person.  You don’t have to connect and relate with them in the visible world.  Seek not to change another person, but to change your mind about them.

Not many people are really willing to hold the vision of the highest and best in their difficult relationships.  It takes a lot more effort than it does to complain.

Complaining never helps.  Complaining makes you a crap magnet.  Compassion makes you a LOVE magnet.  Which would you rather be.

Hold the vision of a healed relationships and then let Spirit do the healing.  Sometimes this can be REALLY challenging.  And, it’s also a way to heal your mind.

If you give up on the relationship, you’re giving up on yourself.

Instead of giving up on the relationship, give the relationship UP to the Higher Holy Spirit Self.

Give up your needing, wanting, cravings and aversions about the relationship.  Give up all forms of attachment to the person and the way the relationship “should” be and you’ll have a healing in your heart – but you have to really mean it.

Be willing to hold a vision of healing without an attachment to how it looks.

Focus on how you’d like that relationship to feel – would you like it to feel loving, harmonious, playful, respectful, prosperous, beautiful and more?  Hold the vision of that, cultivate that feeling and give up how you think it should look.

It may take a great willingness, and it may take a while, but then it won’t come back and bite you on the behind and that’s great!  We have other things to do besides recovering from being bitten on the behind!

If you were freaking out, or in a rough place, would you wish for SOMEONE to hold the high watch for you?  Of course you would.  Be that person now!

Flowing With Spirit

Monday, July 20th, 2020

Yesterday, in our Sundays With Spirit service, in the healing meditation I was sharing about trusting Spirit and using the metaphor of God’s Love as a river that flows. We can flow with the river or we can fight it.

We can cling to the rocks and buffeted about or we can trust the river and go for the ride.

Then, I remembered that someone had recently reminded me of this passage from Illusions by Richard Bach:

Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river. The current of the river swept silently over them all — young and old, rich and poor, good and evil — the current going its own way, knowing only its own crystal self.

Each creature in its own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current was what each had learned from birth.

But one creature said at last, “I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going.

I shall let go, and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.”

The other creatures laughed and said, “Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed against the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!”

But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks.

Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more.

And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried, “See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the messiah, come to save us all!”

And the one carried in the current said, “I am no more Messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure.

But they cried the more, “Savior!” all the while clinging to the rocks, and when they looked again, he was gone, and they were left alone making legends of a savior.

The question is now, what rock are we clinging to?
Who are you looking to as our savior?

For myself, I’m letting go of rocks every day.

I feel it’s a big portion of my responsibility to choose Freedom.

Every choice I make for Freedom lifts us all and I know that. I don’t wish to be a bottom feeder or a rock clinger. I am interested in flowing in the river of Love. I don’t wish to drown there; I wish to flourish and thrive and demonstrate Spirit’s infinite Love and protection – how about you?

We Can Rise

Monday, July 6th, 2020

In my Masterful Living Course it’s common for folks to share about how difficult things were in their relationships before they had the tools of transformation. For many who start with me in my Finding Freedom Spiritual Bootcamp, they make a shift and they never go back. For me, most of my relationships just keep getting better and stronger. It’s a continuous healing and spiraling up, but I haven’t always felt that way. Just the opposite.

I used to spend much of my time in relationships affirming what I did NOT want, and what I did NOT like and drawing painful conclusions that I’d just keep affirming again and again.

I used to regularly consider the idea of never speaking to any of them again. That idea was on a loop in my head for decades. How did I get it out? That’s what I focused on sharing in my classes now. It’s what I share about every week in my podcast.

As A Course in Miracles tells us, our relationships are the very best tool we have for transforming our mind.

It does take a great willingness.
And it so much easier to do it with a group of like-minded souls.

I used to crash and burn so often.
I used to give up so easily.

When I think about it, it’s so crazy that I had the discipline to hold on to a grudge for decades, but not to fee myself from the suffering it caused.

I’d say “I forgive” but I didn’t really mean it because I’d hold onto the judgment and keep energizing it. What I really was HOPING for was that if I said, I FORGIVE, the pain would stop.

Now, I’m SO GRATEFUL, GRATEFUL, GRATEFUL, for my experience! Why?

Because I went so low, I can rise so high!

Now, when others are telling me about their challenges, I can really use what I’ve learned to help others rise out of the hole of helplessness that I used to feel.

Yes, we can RISE out of the hole.

We don’t have to climb or dig.
We can rise.

With great willingness we can be lifted and carried.

It’s all about NOT going it alone anymore.
Suffering in semi-silence, and feeling alone was my thing.

I really didn’t know where to go or what to do in order to rise up. I had to figure it out. I had to rely on Spirit, it just took me a very long time to be willing.

This is a time of ancient patterns coming up to the surface with intensity and healing is happening in our hearts and miracles are demonstrating everywhere. This is the reason why we’re here at this time. To do our own inner work, to let the past go and bring benefit to all humanity.

We have what it takes!

Spirit cannot and does not fail.

We only fail when we go alone, furthering the belief in separation.

As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, we succeed when we’re co-workers with God.

That’s how we rise up and find the better way.
It’s always there for us when we’re willing to see with the eyes of Love.

Just yesterday, someone told me how my Finding Freedom From Fear class was the turning point for them in their relationships and in how they felt about themselves. If you’re ready for a turning point, please consider joining us!

Confusion

Sunday, July 5th, 2020

For so long, it was so easy for me to get completely turned around and confused. Much of life was confusing to me.

Our days can be a myriad of events and interactions with people and our own mind that seem to pummel us. Information is constantly pouring in, overwhelming us and cluttering up our mind.

For decades I couldn’t tell the difference between ego’s voice and Spirit’s inspiration and I’d go off in directions that I thought were Spirit’s inspiration, but they were just ego distractions and detours. I put so much energy, time and money into things that were not helpful to my spiritual growth.

With all that’s going on in this world and in our lives, we can lose perspective on what’s important, and stay in a haze of meaningless activity for a very long time.

What cuts through the haze is our spiritual practice.

A valuable spiritual practice is one that we can be consistent with, and that feels uplifting. I’m clear that the best practice for me is one that I live ALL DAY LONG. It’s my walking the talk and living the Love all day long that keeps me clear headed.

I used to have a focus on collecting information. I thought if I knew more, it would help me to feel better and be happy.

In my pursuit of the “right” information, I read a lot of books and magazines and had lots of informative conversations. I was trying to pay attention to as many things in the world as I possibly could.

It was exhausting and depleting.

I often felt that I wasn’t doing a good enough job. There was always so much information I didn’t have. I couldn’t easily quote Oscar Wilde or Eckhart Tolle.

There were always so many classic novels and spiritual books I still hadn’t read yet. I was driving more and more slowly on the information super highway of life, but not getting anywhere.

I was failing at collecting all the information I needed to have in case I was suddenly called to a dinner party with all the contributing writers for the New Yorker Magazine. I didn’t really read the New York Times thoroughly and I was caring about it less and less.

I had a stack of spiritual books by my bed that was taller than my nightstand. All books I “should” read, but really didn’t want to.

I felt like those books were mocking me, letting me know that I was failing at being a good spiritual student.

I was investing money in things that really didn’t matter to me, but I thought would make me better. For a long time, I didn’t realize that by collecting books and information to make me better, I was affirming that there was something wrong with me, so even if I did read all the books cover to cover and had the ability to write a paper about them, it was all just affirmation of my “not enoughness.”

No wonder I didn’t want to read those darn books!
I had bought those books with my ego mind – and they were always reminding me that I was trying to run my spiritual practice with my ego. That’s what I saw so many of my friends doing.

I needed to stop putting the ego in charge of my spiritual practice.

Fortunately, I realized that all that information collecting was a distraction to me and not that helpful.

I cancelled all magazines and newspapers.
I stopped watching the news and ingesting any of it.

Through a series of events with my then landlord, my cable was disconnected so there went my tv watching. Spirit was helping me through my landlord.

I went on a spiritual mind fast.

I started to read ONLY the books I had a passion for and I read them very slowly and carefully.

A bonus was that I stopped having conversations about information. I began to recognize that the best reason to have a conversation was for the purpose of relating to people: living the Love and walking the talk.

I realized I could focus mostly on talking about our lives and leave the information super highway behind. I found an exit, and took it and I’ve been very glad that I did.

Information just isn’t satisfying to me anymore.
I find that it can really clutter the mind.

One of the best things I did was I packed up 14 shopping bags of those books that were mocking me and reminding me of my having put ego in charge of my connection with Spirit. I took them to the library and gave them away.

I felt like I could breathe again.

Bottom line: Information isn’t healing.
Being loving is healing.
Forgiveness is healing.

Clearing out the judgments, the opinions, the grudges and greivances, as well as my complaints and criticisms made me realize that I’d rather focus on experiencing and expressing Love, that’s much more interesting than anything else! PLUS, it gives me the added bonus of contributing to a clear mind!

I realized that I truly wanted the Peace of God.
Therefore, I had to be willing to learn the means to have it.
I had to stop putting it off and making it less important.

Deepening my spiritual practice pulled me out of the repeating confusion.

I rarely feel that confusion anymore.
I don’t doubt myself anymore.
I rarely feel more than a momentary since of worry or fear, and it’s usually about something mundane.

That’s a HUGE relief.
Spiritual practice did that for me.
Books never could.

My invitation to you is to look at where you’re collecting information and it’s not truly helpful or satisfying. Maybe you feel like you’re not REALLY learning anything that improves your life.

Information has no power to heal.
Healing happens when we release the blocks to Love.

Information can have the effect of confusing and cluttering one’s mind.
My focus on collecting information was a distraction of the ego.
And it left me feeling more helpless and hopeless.
I had convinced myself I was a good little spiritual student collecting all that information.

The ego analyzes to try to learn what it needs to be safe.
The Spirit knows that being loving is our safety.
No information is needed for that.

The Spirit already knows everything.

It’s within us.
You can ask yourself, who really wants to read the book, me or the ego?
I find that spending time with Spirit is far more expansive and deeply satisfying.
It’s healing. It’s also less expensive!

Now, I mostly read the same books over and over again.

I’m not saying this is the only way to do it.
But, if you have any sense that you’ve put the ego in charge of your spiritual practice, now might be the time to go the other way.

We are at a choice point in humanity right now.

We’re either lifting things up, or making it harder for those who are.

Humanity is moving into what I call the Golden Age of Enlightenment.
The more of us that are fully on board, the better.

We CAN actively choose transformation for our liberation in each moment by staying alert to when the ego is presenting a distration.

We CAN choose transformation for our liberation all day, every day and leave the past behind.

Let’s step up our game and put the collection of information behind us.
Let’s clear the mental clutter and make room for spiritual insights!
Now is the time for this.

A Course in Miracles is written in our heart.

One day of actually LIVING it is worth a thousand days of studying it.
Reading the lessons isn’t living them.
We can do BOTH.

Put Spirit in charge of your spiritual practice and you’ll be amazed where it will take you!

If you have a yearning right now, to go deeper and fly higher, to open your heart and live the love like never before, come join me. My Finding Freedom From Fear Bootcamp with ACIM Principles may be your answered prayer.

What This Time Is For

Sunday, June 28th, 2020

Right now, there’s a lot of blame going around. I know all too well what it feels like to be upset with situations I didn’t like and deceive myself by blaming it on other people. I made them the bad guy. In truth, I was sent into that situation to improve it and make it better.

I’ve learned that if I don’t like the way something is, I don’t give up on it and walk away, I stay and do my best to make it better.

I hold the vision of God’s perfection in the situation. If the others won’t join me, and aren’t interested, then I can take my loving view somewhere else, but I still don’t give up.

I am here to be TRULY helpful. It’s true, humanity can seem like a hot mess, but it’s also the most gorgeous mosaic of exploration.

We’re the prodigal son, finding our way back home.

We are both the children AND we’re the parents in that story.

We get to welcome ourselves back home and to each other, because we are home for each other.

And that, to me, is beautiful. REALLY stunningly beautiful.

I wouldn’t miss this part of the journey for anything!
I wouldn’t wish to miss the part where we all come back to gather and remember our unity –
even though it’s not easy,
even though it’s really challenging.

I am willing to learn to LOVE completely, without conditions.
It’s a hell of a ride!
And I’m glad we’re in it together.
I’m glad we can’t do it alone.

Last weekend, I started my Stop Playing Small Online Retreat and I learned a lot. It was so clear that we’re all so alike. Many of us agreed that we have these beliefs:

  • I’m not good enough, something’s wrong with me, I’m unlovable, I’m bad, or some version of that PLUS
  • These spiritual things work for other people, but not for me
  • Why bother to do anything differently if it doesn’t work for me?

I felt trapped inside those thoughts for SO MANY YEARS.
We all have.
This is our common experience.

Like everyone else, I felt trapped inside my own personality. I felt like a mean, petty, dog barking endlessly. No matter what was going on, I always came back to that feeling of being trapped inside myself with no way out.
It was my determination to find some way to find a happier life that FINALLY brought me to a deeper spiritual practice – one that I wouldn’t quit and wouldn’t give up on.

It didn’t help me to intellectually know that I was free on a spiritual level.

I didn’t FEEL it.
And if we don’t FEEL free,
we won’t believe it.
We won’t FEEL free until we believe it –
and that’s the challenge!

That’s why I’m committed to PROVING God works in my life.

And since our minds are joined, when one can do it, all are lifted.

We can all FEEL the Freedom that is ours, by inheritance.

And then we can share it with others.
With our family.
Friends.
Workplace.

I determined that I would figure out how to do this Freedom work for myself and then share with others.

My problem was, deep down, I was certain it wouldn’t work for me.

HOW CRAZY IS THAT?

I was CERTAIN it wouldn’t work for me. And I decided to do it anyway?
I had to be WILLING to give up that sense of hopelessness and TRUST that Spirit could do something with my little bit of willingness.
I had such a strong belief that I’d be free WHEN … [fill in the blank].
I’d be free when … I could easily pay my bills.
I’d be free when … I had a better relationship, a better job, a better … whatever.

It’s SO easy to be convinced that freedom is conditional.
After all, that’s what the world teaches –
even though it’s not true.
The world teaches that all good things are conditional.
They come with a price tag.
A string attached.

In fact, nothing could be further from the Truth.
That which is real has already been given.
That’s what A Course in Miracles says:
Ask and it is given because it already has been given.

Freedom is a spiritual quality – infinite and eternal.
It’s ours already.

How could TRUE Freedom come with a price tag?

AND still, we can choose to block the experience of Freedom by our beliefs in lack, attack, limitation, and separation. In fact, we do it all day long. We can believe it’s impossible.

First, I had to be willing to get out of the cage of believing that my happiness was conditional. I just had to be willing.

THEN, I could become willing to actually begin to FEEL some Freedom. First, you have to actually feel free – and that’s where many people get stuck. I was stuck for a long time.

I was utterly convinced that my feeling free and happy were completely tied to what was happening in the world, in my life, in my home, in my family, in my finances, in my body, and in my job.

I had not a single clue HOW to get to the Freedom in my mind.

Reading spiritual books didn’t get me much closer.
In fact, it made me feel MORE like a failure.

I finally realized that all my studies could be a distraction from actually doing the real work of spiritual practice.

After all, I had all this information telling me that healing is at the level of the mind and yet my mind wasn’t healing.

Sound familiar?

I would read things that said, “When you heal the mind, the world of form, experience, relationships, finances, health and wealth WILL follow.”

And I’d think: Ok, I believe it. But HOW????????

Because I was praying all the time, the answer started to come to me.

I needed to stop asking the wrong questions, which were:
What’s wrong with me?
Why doesn’t it work for me?
Why can’t I get this?
What’s my problem?
How come this is easier for everyone else?
I’m I just fundamentally messed up?

And those are just some of the UN-helpful questions I was asking ALL DAY LONG. UGH!

As God would have it, because of the prayer I was constantly doing, I had a realization that I was asking the wrong question, and I wasn’t as willing as I thought I was.

Two things happened. First, I made a decision:

I decided to put all of my eggs in the God basket.

Once I did that I had another realization:

I started asking for results.

Ask and it is given. Pretty simple. Duh.

I started asking:
Show me how.
Tell me how.

Help me to see only the HOW and nothing else!

I started really entering into a RELATIONSHIP with Spirit.

I started to ask and listen. I had to learn HOW to listen.

Everything began to steadily and then rapidly change for me.
It felt completely miraculous.

I stopped feeling stuck and started gaining momentum because I was given a series of things to do and I did them.

It wasn’t a picnic, it wasn’t easy.
Spiritual practice requires us to do something different.

I had to DEMONSTRATE my willingness to heal my life by doing something that would actually make a difference.

Spirit didn’t say, “you go binge-watch the West Wing on Netflix, I’ve got this handled.”

It was NOT easy.

My happiness required me to become more and more willing to follow the guidance, the steps, the exercises, in order to have the healing.

What I did immediately, was I began to share what I was learning with others. I wrote it down and I thought about how I could share what was working for me in a way that would be helpful to others.

I’ll be honest, it’s been a lot of work for me. I keep working at making it easier for people. I keep asking Spirit to show me how to be MORE helpful, and to be more clear. So that people will get it and be really willing to let the pain go.

I do this every day. That’s my job. And I LOVE it.

I found the happiness that was there for me all along and I found Freedom and everything, everything, everything in my life has changed for the better.

There’s not one thing in my life that hasn’t improved.

And this is exactly why I’ve been inspired to share what has miraculously worked for me. I say miraculously because that’s what A Course in Miracles tells us – the miracles happen at the level of the mind FIRST and then we see the miraculous shift in our world.

Here are the basics of what I learned:
Be willing to TRUST.
Practice TRUE forgiveness.
Get into a RELATIONSHIP with Spirit.
Relinquish the judgments.
Pray and pray and pray some more.

These are the things that changed my life.

And now, I feel so ready and available for these massive changes that are happening in our hearts and minds all over the world.

It’s so clear to me that this time of quarantine is to give us an opportunity to go deeper, to focus on the work with more intent.

So many spiritual students tell themselves that if they had more time they’d deepen their spiritual practice, but then Spirit gives them that time, if they really mean it, and some people do deepen their spiritual practice, but most people don’t.

To me, this time right now is for our simultaneous preparing for what’s to come AND our awakening.
We are ushering in the golden age of enlightenment.
This IS what we’re doing.

It’s ALL HANDS ON DECK time.
And this is the part I wouldn’t miss.
This is what we’ve been preparing for our entire lives.
It’s GO time!

We can really do this. This is what we’re here for

If you’re feeling ready to deepen your spiritual practice and connection with Spirit, but you’re not sure how to be more willing, practice true forgiveness, deepen your relationship with Spirit, relinquish the judgments, pray effectively, my Finding Freedom From Fear Bootcamp maybe your answered prayer. We start 1 week from today! I’m recording ALL NEW CLASSES.

This is going to be SO good because I am ON FIRE!

However you spend the next three months, let’s have REAL and lasting transformation with a spiritual practice that brings benefit and healing for all.

This is the time we’ve been waiting for.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

We’re here to be truly helpful, and we can all step up our game.

Now is the time for us to dive deep and eliminate the patterns of fear in our life. I thank you for being on the journey with me! What an honor to walk alongside you.

May you and your family feel blessed today and every day!

Everyday Spiritual Practice

Saturday, June 27th, 2020

My life significantly improved when I decided to make my spiritual awakening my #1 priority. It was a shift in my thinking – and it shifted everything in my life for the better.

Some things in my life fell away and some new things were added. All of the changes were helpful.

EVERYTHING can be a part of our spiritual practice.

In this world, everything is a projection of our minds. It’s all part of our awakening experience. Every aspect of our life and every detail – from paying our bills, to doing dishes, to picking up the kids from school.

Even Facebook can be a part of our spiritual practice.

ALL that’s required is a willingness to see with Divine Eyes and to make healing the priority. The rest will be given to us. The Higher Holy Spirit Self will turn everything into a part of our spiritual practice if we ALLOW it. We don’t have to figure it out.

I’ve learned that living this way makes life SO much easier. It transforms EVERYTHING. Decide that this is what you’d like to do. For instance, let’s take a look at two intentions for doing a simple task like cutting the grass in the yard.

Intention #1 – we can mow the lawn in order to have the chore done and that’s all. If that’s our intention we might spend the whole time ruminating about what other people think of us.

Intention #2 – we can do that same chore as part of our spiritual practice. If working in the yard is part of our spiritual practice we can make it a mindfulness meditation and time to meditate in nature. We can dedicate ourselves to sharing the beauty and communing with Mother Earth.

We can bless as we are blessed.

Our intention will determine the benefits. There’s no extra charge to make even the most mundane chores part of our spiritual practice and there’s so much benefit.

Think about running errands as a way to bless people all over town! Every chore you do in your home is a gift to Life itself. Why not make every moment a blessing? No extra charge to bless everything every moment of every day! That’s a day of continuous blessings!

There’s so much healing that’s available to us now. We really can give the Spirit the heavy lifting of taking from us all that doesn’t serve us. Willingness is what’s required.

It can be scary to put Spirit in charge of your life. It was for me, but then I realized what an improvement it was!

Let’s focus on a strong intention to put Spirit in charge all day, every day.

I encourage you to make your spiritual life your whole life, and awakening from illusions and delusions your priority.

You’ll be amazed at how much your life improves. Surrender needing to be in charge, until you realize that your Spirit is in charge and that’s who you REALLY are!

If trusting Spirit – and people – is your big challenge, you might like my  Finding Freedom From Fear, spiritual bootcamp class with ACIM principles.  I haven’t offered this class in 9 months – this is your chance, if you’d like to join me and GO FOR IT!

PLUS I’m recording all new classes.

If this is right for you right now, you’ll know it.

Trust your intuition! If you’ve been thinking about doing my Finding Freedom From Fear Bootcamp for a while, but just haven’t been ready, consider booking an exploratory call with one of the spiritual counselors. They can answer all your questions and you’ll know what’s best for you. Book an exploratory call today!

My Finding Freedom From Fear spiritual boot camp isn’t for everyone – it’s for those who are willing to dive in and live the Love. Click here now to learn more.

We begin July 5! This is going to be SO good because I am ON FIRE!

Let’s have REAL and lasting transformation this summer with a spiritual practice that brings benefits and healing for all. Now is the time for us to dive deep and eliminate the patterns of fear in our life. I thank you for being on the journey with me.

Clear-Sighted

Thursday, September 26th, 2019

One thing I’ve noticed is that we don’t see what we cannot see. I used to get so annoyed with people because they weren’t observing what, to me, was so obvious.

It was frustrating to me that people couldn’t get things – all kinds of things – that seemed so completely obvious and “in your face” apparent. It seemed to me just plain willful ignorance.

Now I’m able to realize that we just cannot see what we’re not a vibrational match for.

For instance, some people can see so many ways and opportunities to be helpful, and they can tell whether it’s their call to do something or let it be and hold the high watch.

Some people can see that people are challenged and can use some encouragement, and some people just see someone in their way.

Some people can see that someone is being so very kind and helpful to a stranger and others won’t even notice what’s occurring.

This is what Jesus was referring to when he talked about having “the eyes to see and the ears to hear.” Our gifts and answered prayers can be right under our nose, but if we cannot recognize them, how would we know they’re there?

Many times when I’m working or writing intensely, people can come in the room I’m in and start to do things for many minutes before they recognize I’m there. They’re startled by my presence. I can’t say for certain what it’s about, but I do feel there are times when I turn on a cloaking device in order to avoid being interrupted, and many times people can’t even see me when I’m right there.

It’s a powerful and helpful skill to be able to recognize what’s going on around us without getting caught in the difficulties people are having. I won’t join people in worry and upset. And, I’ve learned when to offer a hand and when not to.

Cultivating the ability to discern what’s really going on is VERY worthwhile. It comes naturally when we’re willing to give up all attachment to judging and labeling. It’s a magnificent trade – opinion for truth! Let’s begin today!

If you’ve had enough of repeating painful patterns from the past, consider accepting my gift. I’m offering a LIVE VIDEO 2.5-hour workshop intensive this Saturday, with a replay on Sunday, and it’s my gift to you. There’s no cost, but you do have to register. Click here to register now.
